  • n00b you suck asshole!

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you

  • We could have went to google images for pictures. Youtube is for videos.

  • @Charlie12241 Noted, and we understand that. This season was ultimately rushed out the door because of time, but this next season we've got coming up is taking a much different approach.

It's intended to look more like a real motion comic starting with this season. Stay tuned for a new trailer coming soon to see what I mean.

    Matt

    DC Showcase/writer-showrunner

  • @Charlie12241

this is a video. you may notice that there are several pictures which change to accompany the audio. there's no way this story could be told with a single image and it would be difficult to include the audio with any other method.

  • @JustThink00 Oh you mean slideshow okay.

  • Hey what happened to Black Orchid? Wasn't she in the same room as Blue Beetle? And she wasn't in the end, did she die too or is that a secret? lol

Very well done by the way! :)

  • @ZifaLove You make a valid point, and actually, I don't know. I mean, I know we animated a scene where she escapes and Ted tells her to go ahead without him, but I don't know why it's not in this cut.

Good eye. I thought for sure it was in here. My bad. Anyway, yes, Black Orchid will return to DC Comics Presents next season. Thanks! Glad you like the show!

  • The image of Ted getting shot got to me.

  • @Lencho01 I was always haunted by that image in Infinite Crisis when I read it. Heartbreaking.

  • @TheDCVerse I haven't read it, but of what I heard about Infinite Crisis, it just seemed like one big mess. And then everything's more-or-less back to normal right after. I liked how they handled it in the Brave & the Bold toon.

  • @Lencho01 I actually would agree that the Brave and the Bold version of Ted's death was a much more fitting way for him to die. Very heroic.

Infinite Crisis can get a little too involved, but it's a fun read. Still, you're not wrong, and more or less everything changed in IC has been changed back.

  • @TheDCVerse I recently saw the new Booster Gold episode and you could see how much he missed Ted even though he simply can travel back in time.

I heard the same thing happened with the New Krypton stuff they did. Hahaha.

  • @Lencho01 Oh, that episode was intense. Booster hugging Ted before he leaves was just perfect.

Ha. Pretty much. Even with the death of Bruce Wayne, which I personally thought should have stuck, it's all very absurd. It makes no sense to go through a big universe changing event, then wipe it out three issues later.

  • @TheDCVerse And I loved how Ted knew Booster and Batman wouldn't get along so he never told them that he was friends with them both. Sorta like a best friends triangle rather than a love one.

They like doing "events" that'll cost a lot of money to follow since they take place over various comic titles and issues. Then you'd have no reason to buy them since there are now consequences.

Have you read the reviews for Superman: Earth One? AICN's was positive and IGN's was negative.

  • @Lencho01 Ha. Yeah. That was great. I would love to see a Justice League International cartoon in this same continuity with Booster, Ted, Fire and Ice and the rest of the JLI.

Well, it's true. I remember a friend of mine said the most accurate thing regarding the event comics is that "events sell", and they do. All you have to do is look at Marvel's insane amount of X-Men events in the 90's.

I haven't, no. I really only saw the concept art of Superman. Isn't it supposed to be like Smallville?

  • @TheDCVerse That would be fun. Maybe we'll get to see something like that on Brave & the Bold.

    Yep.

I don't like the art and I hate their \S/. From my understanding 's not like SV other than just being another origin story for the first book. AICN says it shows how the world would react the first time they've encountered and alien. IGN actually says SV gets the character of Superman better than Straczynski, which they said he turned into Batman.

  • @Lencho01 I would agree with that, though I am enjoying Grounded and his Wonder Woman. The thing about Earth-One is, how much can you really change the overall origin without taking it completely into left field like Smallville did? That's the last radical change to an origin I can think of that work for a sustained amount of time.

  • @TheDCVerse I think they're only doing it because it's its own universe. What better way to do that than to start from the beginning? Only problem is the origins have been told so many times already. Could've started a few years after he revealed himself & allude to what happened with comments/flashbacks if you really want to. I remember reading he made it that the end of Krypton was a hit job. Maybe that's what IGN was talking about. Clark gets pissed & becomes Superman for revenge I guess.

  • @Lencho01 Is that what's going on in that book? Dear lord. Sometimes I don't get anything DC does. At all.

  • @TheDCVerse I don't know. I'll just wait until someone reads it and posts details. If you actually search for it today, there are lots of articles calling him emo based on the art and clothes he's wearing. Hahaha. And I thought the whole emo stuff was done to death on SV. Can't imagine getting more emo than Clark used to be.

  • @Lencho01 Ha. Yeah, Smallville gave us enough emo-Clark to last a lifetime. All you have to do is watch season 6 to see emo-Clark in full force. Reading up on this Earth-One stuff, it's really silly. I'm not sure I understand the point of it outside of selling a few comics and giving geeks more stuff to complain about.

The origin is already established, so an offshoot thing is really weird right now.

  • @TheDCVerse Hahaha. And what made me laugh this season was that Clark had "darkness" in him that he didn't even know about. And somehow Lois and Kara had purer hearts than he did.

It just pretty much sounds like DC's version of the Ultimate universe for real this time. Making something for "new readers."

  • @Lencho01 Which, the whole "darkness in your heart" thing, they kind of screwed themselves on that. They pretty much established at the end of "Homecoming" that he had come to peace with himself, so now their obvious stalling tactic of Jor-El keeping the costume has become even more blatant.

And I've always said that an Ultimate kind of line is a good idea. I've just never liked the execution of Marvel's, or now with DC's.

  • @TheDCVerse And don't forget about Darkseid, whatever he's supposed to be. Since Clark's fine now, what can Darkseid really do? Hahaha. Oh, and I laughed when they had Kara point out that flying was really needed to fight him.

I've only read an issue or two of Ultimate Spidey a few years back. Didn't do much for me. I laughed when I read about that "A isn't for France" line they had Captain America say.

  • @Lencho01 Yeah, the Darkseid stuff is weird. I know they like to twist the villains around, but I hope they at least try to explain why he's just a smoke figure. Is the Apokolips/New Genesis/New Gods stuff even a factor here? I hope they have a game plan for him instead of just winging it. I also fail to see how flying is needed to defeat Darkseid. How about a solid shot upside the head with Clark's fist, hm?

Haha. Yeah. Some aspects of the Ultimate line are cool. It's hit or miss.

  • @TheDCVerse I'm not sure. We saw what they did w/ Godfrey. I read about Granny Goodness running an orphanage and Mad Harriet being one of the girls there. So, I fear that if there is an Apokolips on the show, only Darkseid's from there. Just have to wait & see. Ha, Clark would just have to tell Kara to use her weird bracelet.

I wonder if they'll put that line in the film. Hahaha. Supposedly, Cap won't be the major patriot that he is in the comics according to the director.

  • @Lencho01 I am looking forward to seeing Mad Harriet, but it appears they really are just distilling Darkseid down to the bare essentials, which I kind of find strange. They underestimate what you can do with an hour's worth of story. There's enough time to go into the Apokolips stuff.

Yeah, I remember hearing that. I think I read that he's upset he's being used for propaganda and as a poster boy for America instead of fighting.

  • @TheDCVerse Can't wait to see her too. Hope we see Lashina & Stompa. We're supposed to see Desaad at some point since they did cast him. I just want the real Darkseid. Not smoke.

Johnston said "We're sort of putting a slightly different spin on Steve Rogers. He's a guy that wants to serve his country but he's not a flag-waver. We're reinterpretating sort of what the comic book version of Steve Rogers was. He wants to serve his country, but he's not this sort of jingoistic American flag-waver"

  • @Lencho01 I'm hoping for Lashina, too. It's probably too much to ask to hope for an appearance by Barda, but I'd love to see her in live-action. Desaad, I thought was supposed to be in "Supergirl", but they must have moved his appearance to "Ambush".

And I don't entirely mind that. Some fans I know hate it, but I don't really hate it. I think it sounds kind of cool. I love goofy, all-American Cap, but I'm interested in this, too.

  • @TheDCVerse Barda would be great to see. I actually think she'd work well in a recurring character capacity like Jimmy was when he first appeared on the show. I thought we'd see Desaad too. I actually thought the guy they cast for him and Godfrey should've switched.

I just hope he isn't changed too much. But, I'm pretty sure they did it for "marketability." It seems they did it with Thor too. The way things sound, he was turned into an alien rather than a god.

  • @Lencho01 She would, actually. It would be fun to see her and Mister Miracle develop a relationship, and that's one ship I could get behind. And yeah, the guy who is supposed to be playing Desaad looked more like Godfrey than Dangerfield. I also thought Dangerfield could've made a good Lex clone.

The Comic-Con reel for Thor was pretty impressive. Much better than I'd anticipated. As long as those two movies aren't too Avengers heavy like I'm told Iron Man 2 was, I think they'll work out.

  • @TheDCVerse And we know how much they love 'ships. Chlollie's out of nowhere really. I don't see Dangerfiel as Lex. The older clone was pretty spot on. He even had the bump on the back of his head! I could image Rosenbaum saying the lines.

The only thing that looked odd to me was the dye job they did for Thor. It seemed too fake in some places. Maybe the filters wil make it look more normal. Still haven't seen Iron Man 2 as well. I'd be really fine if they weren't Avengers-heavy.

  • @Lencho01 Oh, yeah! I forgot about that! He had the infamous Rosenbaum bump. He had all of Rosenbaum's little touches down. I wouldn't have minded him sticking around, myself.

Ha. I hadn't noticed the dye job. Truthfully, I didn't even know he wasn't blonde until somebody told me who it was. I haven't seen it, either, but everyone says the same thing. That it's basically two hours of Avengers winks and nods. And they also say he's barely in the costume, which is something I always feared.

  • @TheDCVerse It made me realize how much I didn't miss Rosenbaum. As cool as it would be for him to come back, I'm fine if we never see him again. I do wonder about the Lil' Lex plot though. I just saw the Mad Harriet picture. Too much like Freddy Krueger & not enough DCU.

He looked blonde enough to me in Star Trek, but I guess they wanted it brighter. Maybe Marvel feared people wouldn't understand Avengers so they really needed to add some backstory. You'd think Cap's film would be good enough.

  • @Lencho01 I really don't miss him, either. He was a great Lex, but the character of Lex Luthor is bigger than any one actor, so him not being in it is not as big a deal to me. Lex is Lex, not Michael Rosenbaum. I don't entirely hate the Harriet design. It's about what I expected, though the little green in her hair is a nice comic nod.

And I understand setting up Avengers in the solo films, but nobody is going to get a chance to make an impression if they keep up at this rate.

  • @TheDCVerse Agreed. Green hair would be nice, but the pic is increases my fears about "The Darkness" & if he's from Apokolips. I think STAS handled it perfectly. SV's already had Intergang on the show going back to Morgan Edge from years ago. I'm surprised they didn't have involved this season. I keep thinking of Superman meeting Darkseid for the 1st time. "That is who I am."

I'm sure they learned their lesson. I assume Iron Man 3 will be on its own since Avengers will be out already.

  • @Lencho01 Exactly. STAS had shorter stories, and STILL got at least a streamlined version of the Apokolips stuff in there. If they can do it in 20 minutes, you guys can do it in 40. They had Morgan, they had Bruno, the plot was all there. They're just not capitalizing on it.

Oh, when is that set for? They're not doing another Iron Man before Avengers?

  • @TheDCVerse And it works a lot better than turning the Apokolips characters into regular people. They could've had Clark, Lois, and Cat investigating Intergang while Clark and Ollie battle them and still have to deal with the Suicide Squad. But, I'm talking about a season that pretty much has no filler at all. Not stuff like "Isis" where certain scenes could've happened in any other episode.

Avengers in 2012 and IM3 in 2013. I can see them marketing Avengers like IM3 because of RDJ.

  • @Lencho01 Oh, "Isis" was awful. In a season like this, they really have no time to mess around with nonsense like that. The next few weeks look like nothing but Fillerville. Turning them into just people defeats the whole purpose of using them. I feel like this season is going to be a whole lot of missed opportunities and scaled down visions.

Oh, okay. I wondered about that. I was hoping to see another Hulk movie before Avengers, but I guess we won't since they dumped Norton.

  • @TheDCVers All you can take from it is that Clark told Lois the truth (which I think they hyped) & Tess's a mom. Could've happened any other time. Looks like many of the events aren't going to be that important other than the Suicide Squad, the Darkness, & Lil' Lex. Don't see where they plan to go with all this.

I think he isn't as popular as Marvel thinks. Hulk & TIH pretty much made the same money. Now there's the new live-action TV show. I find it odd.

  • @Lencho01 Agreed. There's a lot of unnecessary fluff in this beginning half. Hopefully by the time mid-season picks up and the JLA starts coming back and we start hearing about Booster Gold, the Squad and more Darkseid, it will start picking up steam again.

I think Hulk is only popular these days amongst hardcore Marvel fans. The 70's show was one thing, but I don't think a lot of the people who watched even knew Hulk was a comic book. Not sure how you do modern Hulk on a modern tv budget.

  • @TheDCVerse Yep, & I just saw "Harvest." Pretty much like "Isis" but a little bit better. It has the moments that could've happened any other time and were much more interesting. I really hope Booster looks like Booster. Same w/ Blue Beetle.

Agreed. Seems the studio's really love remaking old TV shows. Charlie's Angels, Wonder Woman, Hulk, & there's talk of doing a Shazam! show instead of a film. Speaking of Shazam! I saw the new DCUAOM short, and it blows their past few full films away.

  • @Lencho01 "Harvest" was pretty terrible except for the Lex/Tess stuff. The B-plot of Lex/Tess should have been the focus. Clark and Lois vs. country bumpkins should have been the other story. And I do hope that Booster retains most, if not all, of his costume. Even if it's his new costume, I wouldn't mind.

Live-action Shazam show would work better than a movie, I think. The mythology is so deep, you could really go into it. Still haven't seen Superman/Shazam, though. Aren't Gough/Millar on CA?

  • @TheDCVerse Connor great as Lex. Seems the writers have some political/social agenda lately which I find out of place no matter where you stand on certain issues. SV's one of the last places for that & it's the final season. There may be a Legion reference w/ Booster having a ring & saying he's just friends & not a member. I wonder if Beetle will be CGI like the clip they showed.

They may also put a time limit on him to create "drama." Go to megavideo ?v=I1DJOKPE. Yep, Gough/Millar are on CA.

  • @Lencho01 Connor is the bomb. He was amazing in "Harvest". What's the agenda? The Clois stuff? It's become quite a heated topic of discussion, if that's what you're talking about.

I do hope Clark takes note of the Legion flight ring and calls Booster on it, forcing him to come clean. I know they're using Jaime, but I personally wish it was an all Ted/Booster ep. Jaime is such a bore.

A lot of the Showcase films are better than the movie they're attached. Green Arrow was awesome.

  • @TheDCVerse The jabs at conservatives, Christians, whatever. Just seems odd to see it on SV. Takes me out of the show. Like what they do/did w/ Cat & Godfrey. What Ollie said in his interview stuck out to me, though it's like the comics. They never show him say stuff like that.

Clark notices it & Booster tells him. I hope what I read it true. Ah, we know how much Johns loves Jaime. He'll probably touch upon Ted somehow though.

GA was fantastic. I liked the Hex one. I've yet to see Spectre.

  • @Lencho01 Ohh, yeah. Shame they haven't used more of Ollie as the bitchy left-winger who fights for the little guy yet. I'd love to see Justin take on hardcore lefty Oliver.

I think he did say at SDCC that Ted and Dan would be either cameos or appear in some form. Probably a flashback of some sort. Hopefully whoever they get can work the goofy best friends chemistry together.

Spectre is cool and a little creepy. Very noir. Hope to see that Booster/Beetle buddy cop one they talked about soon.

  • @TheDCVerse I think the things he said in the interview is the most we're going to get. Unless he says something to Slade in later episodes or talks about the Registration Act.

Yeah, probably about the mantle of Beetle & how Jaime will fit into it. Corporate synergy for the new possible show.

Yeah, I heard about that. Like it's very 70's. Oh, that would be a great idea. I bet Johns was thinking of it. I'd like a whole film, but WB is just way too comfortable w/ Supes & Bats DTVs

  • @Lencho01 Yeah, I do hope we get to see that before the show goes off. And would it be too much to ask to see Justin with a beard at least once?

True. As long as Ted and Dan get a mention, I'll be happy.

Which, I really find strange and a bit silly. They claim that they don't want to devote an entire movie to an obscure character like Booster because they don't think it will sell, but they'll put all the Showcase shorts on DVD? I fail to see the difference in their logic here.

  • thoroughly loved this episode!

  • @AtreyuGuyver Even though it depicts your tragic and horrible death? ;)

  • @TheDCVerse oh yes lol
