Miller Introduces New Welding Workbench: ArcStation

Scottstrike... No actually all miller equipment and supplies are made at their main headquarters in wisconsin. I would know I just got back from there a week ago, where I took a tour of everybuilding, as well as took my tig test to get certified. I am sponsored by them , and was actually overly impressed at the test and abuse they put their machines through before they can stamp their name on it

i am 17 years old starting an apprentiship as a welder. i have been told that i am dumb for going into the welding trade. mostly due to the effects it has on ur body(lungs and eyes). if there is anyone that can help me out by telling me about the risks of welding please message me. make sure you have experience in the feild....thanks

@grafitikidd Just use the right gear and you'll be fine. Learn a good trade and be good at it and you'll not be without work.

@grafitikidd i have been welding for 9 years now..welding is not too bad as long as you have the proper venting and gear...alot of non union shops dont care about you or the oily/painted steel they want you to weld together. they want you to work fast and sorta preasure you into tacking things together with out a hood..this is hard on your eyes even though you are closing them just before you tack. they want you to measure things out while someone next to you is welding.years of this is not good

i make 14.80 per hour..its ok but thought i'd be make'n more because i went to school for it... do i want to be a production welder for 30 years? no way...

that's a nice table, but I never could understand why any welder would buy a steel table before he would make one.

@modernblacksmith it would be about the same to make it vs. buying it after you put your time into it, that and getting all the stock and do-dads (like adjustable feet etc.) would be a part of time consumption....

@320iguy many welders don't fabricate every day so I guess it would be a chore for them, but I wouldn't buy one the tops are always to thin anyways (1/2 " should be a min thickness)

@modernblacksmith i agree, and this table supplies about 1/2" for the top. i like the curtain idea and how the table becomes the ground. i hate when guys use a nearby tool to "arc check" their tips.. :\
