  • did you have to delete my post? great recipes from your first uploads but extremely perverse asian cooking. what compelled you to actually have the wrong ingredients, wrong cooking methods, wrong order of cooking and essentially, the wrong dish and have it posted on youtube? and like I said before - indians, chinese, vietnamese, thais, malays and any other asia watching these videos are turning in their graves.

  • you can use cilantro instead of mint.. it'll give a different flavour.. thats what we use here in singapore. :)

    *In Singapore, hawkers sell food by first boiling your choice of noodle (mee kia da being the most widely used in Laksa if i am not mistaken), bean sprouts, cockles , fish-cakes, yong tau foo (soybean based product) in a steel strainer.

    If you don't particular ingredients in ur laksa, just tell the hawker to omit it.

    Then it is mixed with the ready-made sauce from a separate pot.

    Tada! You get non-soggy noodles and piping hot too.

I hate kidney beans more than any other food in the world, though it keeps getting cooked into Chilli Con Carne by my mum, I hate it, if it didn't have beans I would love it. It's not made with chuck steak though, it's made with beef mince (or lamb mince is good too I reckon).
