anything is possible. It original purpose could be to just play a sound, but if you have the skills you can rewire the energy that goes to the speaker to a fuse, detonator, or any other circuitry as the power button of the mobo, to power it up.

Think out the box man, it is cool stuff.

You could easily make a self-destruct device out of this. It wouldn't have to work off an internal power source and would probably be rigged to a massive steel box just outside your PC with all your drives rigged to a kilogram of thermite. Doable, but unless you're doing clandestine operations encryption should be enough. And if you are - it's not as if they have to prove it.
