Im gonna host a fancy xmas dinner soon for my mother in law, I have a feeling this koolaid wine recipe is gonna be a hit! and you know im gonna be poppin bottles on new years, koolaid style baby!
@TheCtc789 Idk almost full after adding other ingredients ... like the pictures.... if your making fruit wine like juice you might need a lil more space cause it foams up more.
if any one wants it, look up "kool aid wine" on instructables. turns out you can use your freezer to turn kool aid wine to brandy with a 25% alcohol content. regular wine has an 8 to 12% content.
It doesn't matter when you refrigerate it. whatever flavors you like. You can be lazy if you want and not filter it at all.. all the junk usually settles at bottom.
@YUCKapples Here is a tip: Grape Kool aid is best to use. If your parents buy filters for water jugs like Brita water filters are the best but make sure you use a used one, you don't want that black carbon shit getting into the kool-booze... When the 4 weeks is up slowly poor your booze into the jug...not to fast or you will clog the filter and it will take forever to filter. Should only take about 10 minutes to filter. Now poor it into pop bottles, chill and enjoy.
You said, "...about 1/4 of the yeast in the pack." how big of a pack is it? I'm a first time maker, and have never bought yeast before thanks in advance, giving 5 stars now, no need to ask. haha
A 1/4 oz pack and baking yeast usually comes in packs of 3. It don't have to be exact could be less or more.... My friend used bread it worked pretty good... thanks for 5 stars lol
Thanks, i figured it out. I started 3 today, grape, tropical punch, and strawberry. do you have any other suggestion for making it better once the fermentation process is done?
got cut off but i got pure cherry juice fermenting and it went wow right away and my sugar ferment followed cool but not near as aggressive as that cherry juice im talkin the shit u use for health care its like syrup
yo i just made some from that 100% cherry concentrate juice that i use for medical reasons its about 20 bucks for 32 ozs but it makes like 3 gallons . but its so pure i mixed like a one cup with 2 cups of sugar to a gallon and after adding the yeast it went nuts compared to the normal sugar water mix
but you are 100% right on the recipe as long as you keep it sterile you will get 7 to 10 % out of it .and to me it tastes bettter than store bought .after all who doesnt love kool aide !!!!!!!!! maybe fuckin canadiens!!!!!!!!!!!!
i wonder what would happen if you just made sugar water and added yeast...and no flavoring...would it still come out alcoholic?like vodka b4 distillation?
awesome. thank you for the tips. im fermenting some sugar water right now, just to experiment with adding the kool aid b4 it ferments and after it ferments. ill tell you wich one i like more in a week or two.
And by the way, I think lime is good. It's like Mad Dog 2020. Better even! You just might have to add some sugar to sweeten it up depending on how much you used in the beginning
it wont bubble so much. when fermenting is really going on, you will see little bubbles constantly rising. the dead yeast settles on the bottom, and it clears up a little bit so it;s not so cloudy. put it in the fridge to clear it up more.
use a tube to siphon the clear wine off, leave the last little bit covering the dead yeast so you don't suck that nasty stuff up into your new container. Throw that out. Take your good, clear stuff and let it keep chilling somewhere to make it taste better and get a bit stronger. THat's secondary fermentation. It will continue to change, but more slowly over time.
Add the kool-aid after the wine is done to make sure it doesn't interfere with the yeast doing their thing.
Katatonic, you bribe them with money or drugs that your visitors smuggle in up their assholes for you. Or, with money that you earn or steal in prison.
i wouldn't believe everything you see on TV.not all of it is exactly true.how do you suppose they get the smuggled items through the glass wall that's in-between them?
my friend who just got parole said you can buy drugs from the guards, but they cost a lot, you make a little money in prison or have it sent to you. And making wine, I think they use bread for the yeast, and they probably use juice or fruit instead.
dude what!? this could have solved my youths problems of not being bale to buy it in a store!.. i wanna try this.

add extra sugar and use Turbo yeast bought from a wine supply store. It will make about a 20% alcohol. . . . . you will be wasted

hah, k thanks!!
Is it supposed to be cloudy though, or does it eventually clear up on its own?
and how many days do you refrigerate it before you can actually drink it??
YUCKapples 2 years ago
it should clear up on its on... just chill it, you can drink it warm if u want.
Toadphillips 2 years ago
k, so I started my own 2 few days ago and it's still fermenting.
When that stage is done, do I filter it into a newer bottled AND then refrigerate it? or do I leave it in the same bottle to refrigerate then filter??
oh, and I'm adding my koolaid after so that it'll be sweeter/won't mess with fermentation. what flavor/s do you reccommend??
thx
5stars btw.

YUCKapples 2 years ago

addding kool aide before fucks up the fermantation process and yields less alco % i highly advise mixing to taste after filtering

it doesn't taste the same tho... it still fucks you up thats all that matters

KatatonicKrazyFace 2 years ago
no flavoring......yeah, just won't taste very good.
Toadphillips 2 years ago
mmm...would it make i difference if i added the kool aid after the sugar water fermented?
KatatonicKrazyFace 2 years ago
yeah it taste's different... you can do it.
Toadphillips 2 years ago
does it taste better? or worst? in your opinion...like after it ferments, can i add a little more sugar to bring out the kool aid flavor?
KatatonicKrazyFace 2 years ago
just different... when it ferments it taste a lil' more sour, added after it tastes more sweet and different.
Lime tastes horrible after it ferments but added after it probably wouldn't taste bad. I don't really like sweet wine, but you can add sugar 4 taste
Toadphillips 2 years ago

gonna give this a try..Im wasting a fortune on beer, stupid when you realise how cheap it is to make, and how much of the price is tax
how will i know its done? will the balloon start to go floppy?
mrlowdangle 2 years ago
yeah the balloon will deflate and when there's no more bubbles rising to the top,
If you want carbonation in the wine just put the cap on when it's almost done.
Pressure will build up and it will get bubbly like Champagne.
Toadphillips 2 years ago

how would you produce more alcohol? more sugar? more yeast? more of both?
hasser4 2 years ago
More sugar and certain wine yeast.... but if you add too much sugar it won't completely ferment and will be too sweet.
Toadphillips 2 years ago
Is the dead yeast hard to seperate?
Stormclouds777 2 years ago
Not really, most of it stays at the bottom.
If there's a little bit left , it doesn't really hurt anything, beer and bread has dead yeast in it.
Toadphillips 2 years ago
It naturally settles like sediment to the bottom when it dies and stops producing alcohol
dtmbcorp 2 years ago
Did you learn this in prison Toad?
BRYAN351 2 years ago
No, actually at school.
Toadphillips 2 years ago
Same difference man.

ok sweet i was just wondering cuz i put it in my boiler room and its like 75 to 85 in there
kenwood1609 2 years ago
Does it matter what temperature the room that i story the wine in is
kenwood1609 2 years ago
Usually the warmer it is the faster it gets done.
I'd say...No less than 60F.
My house is around 68- 70F.

I have tons of brown sugar, will this work instead of the white sugar?
apexscalper 2 years ago
I never tried it before, as long as it's some kind of sugar it should work.
It probably would taste different though.
Toadphillips 2 years ago
@apexscalper that sounds like you might get a little rum taste?
steffenhagen69 2 years ago
Ok well i cant get wine yeast at my local store and i had 1 of 4 that didnt start so just wondering
where do you get the wine yeast
kenwood1609 2 years ago
I got mine from ebay.
Toadphillips 2 years ago
How long should it take for the balloons to fill up and what if they don't fill up in that amount of time
kenwood1609 2 years ago
About 1 day, if they don't fill then it's probably just not warm enough and will take a few days.
If it never does, You could add new yeast, to try to restart it.
* I only had 1 out of the 100's I made that never started.
Toadphillips 2 years ago
what is the alcohole concentration of this
kenwood1609 2 years ago
It depends...
I'm guessing anywhere from 5% to 18%. Depending what kind of yeast and how much sugar.
Even if it's weak it would still be like drinking 5- 6 beers.
I use wine yeast.
