OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS GAME!!! This is still my favorite star wars game of all time. Fun and easy to learn gameplay, RPG elements with the force powers hidden items, weapons that were in-universe but still felt awesome to use (star wars games can have problems with good weapons), and let alone how despite how much the graphics have aged, you still know what everything is in an instant.

While the jedi knight series did not have flashy graphics and what not.. it did allow you a sense of freedom in your fighting.. especially online. I hate games that want you to hit certain combinations in order to succeed. They just do not make them like they used to eh?

@roewedge They weren't great but neither were they bad for their time... well, maybe Academy was falling behind but yes, the game felt a lot less... predictable. OK, the level were still pretty linear but TFU was pretty much a straight line. I was somewhat impressed by the very different level designs though... until they all pretty much REPEATED.

At least the physics stuff was kinda cool but the portrayal of the Force was rather ridiculous... I guess we can blame that on the prequels though.

@ProphetTenebrae I think you hit it right on the mark. When the prequels came out it sort of restricted the whole ideology behind "the force". I really enjoyed how the JK series (and the KOTOR series) followed the steps of the expanded universe authors. Especially the ones that wrote before the prequels.

Yes, it is, just go into the exe's properties and set it to run in Windows 98 compatibility mode and you should be set.

I rember playing this game as a kid, i had some good memorys of it but one thing i can't understand is that lightsaber crackle at 1:56 it just sounds so right yet i've never heard it used in any other starwars games or even the movies!!! Anyway this game was good imo and many others are quite good, like from X-wing vs Tie fighter all the way to Republic Commando seem the be better than whats out at the time.

It would've been much more expensive and time-consuming to have to get the actors, workers, etc. back to do acted cutscenes. Since it's an expansion pack for an existing game, Lucasarts (or any developer, for that matter) is going to put the same amount of money and attention into making it.

And remember, since it was an expansion pack, it only cost like $20, which was another thing that limited how much money they'd be willing to spend on making it.
