@subseeker They make you get up ONCE during the entire movie. It's really not even that bad and for me I'm used to it. Titanic on VHS had 2 tapes, so you had to get up once. Then Titanic DVD came out and again I still had to get up once. It's not a big deal to me. I just treat it like an intermission and choose to not only switch the disc, but use the bathroom or grab some food or a drink or something. Our society is far too spoiled these days, I swear lol.

@Sallyallie89 Where do you live? Kazakhstan? Titanic...? At least our version was on 1 VHS cassette, and yes, same with the DVD version. No-one likes intermissions. If so, you can ALWAYS PRESS THE PAUSE BUTTON. A customer is the buyer and should always be spoiled. So not like this. I'm waiting for the proper release. Meanwhile: torrents.

@subseeker I know you can press the pause button. Just, idk, there are far worse things to complain about than getting up from your cough for 30 seconds to change a disc. It's not that big of a deal to me. There are much bigger problems than getting up from my couch for 30 seconds to switch discs. I just choose my battles I guess =p

Yup, I stole this collection this time, I wouldn't pay s-it for this collection, until it's on 4 BD's. Can't wait for the Hobbit though! Then we'll look like Stan Laurell after diarrhea which lasted for a decade (no pauses in between, just sitting!), 'cause all the muscles wore down from the DVD-exercise...

@columbusdinner Don't be so sure. It may also drop to as low as $30 once something new comes out. I see some DVD extended editions selling for, no joke, under $5 each on ebay. That's because people want to replace their old DVD's with the Blu-Ray editions. No one wants to pay too much for the DVD's since Blu-Ray is coming out now. But then again I don't see how they could possibly make it any better, unless you bring 3D into it, but I don't like 3D tv's to be honest.

I got it for $90 the first day it came out on Warner Bros. And that includes taxes, shipping was free. Can't wait to get it.

With the LOTR Extended Trilogy and the entire Star Wars Saga coming this year, I'd say this is an awesome year for Blu Ray! Those are the first films I'm going to actually re-buy on the Blu Ray format!

If they've devided the extended cuts in two parts, I'm -SO- NOT GONNA BUY them. I got frustrated with changing the discs all the time when I bought these on a DVD box set. Afterwards sold the whole thing and swore: NEVER gonna buy movies whitch are split in half! I'll stick to BDrips.

@subseeker I'm pretty sure the extended cuts aren't cut into 2, they managed to fit the normal movies AND extended on a single disc for one of the previous releases. I think the extra 10 discs are extras, they had 2 discs of extras for the original extended edition releases. Then on the other extended edition release, they had I believe a whole NEW set of extras. So it's probably 10 discs of extras. 6 for the original 4 for the one later.

@regulatorzone At least they haven't planned to make it 3D, yet or change scenes over and over again. And if you noticed, every film out there, or just about gets re-released. Also, he may not have a thing to do with them re-releasing it might in fact be the production corporation Warner Bros.

I can't believe at 1:15 they use 'Requiem for a Dream'. Not only is it absolutely awful, immensely overrated, and so incredibly overused in EVERY SINGLE TRAILER on the internet to the point it defines the very essence of 'generic' (which LOTR is ANYTHING BUT), but it is also an insult of the highest degree to Howard Shore, whose soundtrack is one of the most mesmerising and captivating scores ever to have been written, and described by himself as his "life's greatest work". Despicable.

@Midianite555 In 2002 a new version of Requiem for a Dream was made, and it was used for the first trailer of The Two Towers (the name of the song is Requiem for a Tower) so they used this song here too...the song belongs to The Two Towers (Obviously the original song is Requiem for a Dream)
