  • lol, imagine all the bullet holes in that room! I'm surprised the wall is still standing! Also, I wouldn't stay in that room over night, even if you paid me. If it is haunted, it's clear the ghost or whatever it is, doesn't want anyone in there, and I wouldn't provoke it by going in there.

  • Ive been here the house is now a museum from the 1/2nd floor upwards

  • The most dangerous thing is a skeptical. I believe that 50 Berkeley Square is still haunted, I believe that the Amittyville Horror did happen, I believe in the haunted funeral home events took place in Connecticuit, I believe about the Hinsdale house haunting, and i believe that the Winchester Mansion is full of evil.

  • @Chris9017 yea man ive actually been to the winchester mansion in san jose california its pretty creepy dude like when i went i was the last in the tour group i swear i heard somethin behind me it was a creepy feeling

  • @wetback626 I have been there twice, and I encountered a young female ghost around 19-years of age who was one of the maids. But for a 3rd time on this Halloween, I might run into something evil.

  • @Chris9017 why do you think you might get something evil? cuz its halloween or what?

  • @wetback626 because you know what they say, 3rd time is a charm.

  • @Chris9017 I believe the Winchester house is haunted but not by evil; I wouldn't call the victims of Winchester rifles "evil", unless they were bad people in life, therefor are obviously going to be bad in death. However, what about the people who were wrongly killed with a Winchester rifle? Are they evil? No, all they're guilty of is wanting an explenation as to why they were killed.

  • I agree but so what it is now 50 Berkeley Square? someone please answer me and tell me your FB

  • What I know is a guy named Warboys dead on 50 Berkeley square too

  • All these events have occured in the 1800s, which is a very long time ago. Don't think the truth have been streched a little bit too far?

The only dangerous thing in that house would be your own fear and imagination. (apart from criminals and falling trough the floor). I am 100 precent sure that if someone that didn't know this house was "haunted" had stayed there, they wouldn't notice anything.

  • Incidentally the house was where a one time prime minister Canning (I think this was the name) lived there for a short time as well and the hauntings occured after he left.

  • I remember reading the story when I was a kid. Of course you do have to becareful when talking about legend and fact even with ghost stories because the details can get a little stretched at times. Incidentally it is perhaps one of the best known ghost stories because MR James mentioned the place in his story about school ghosts as a traditional tale told about ghosts.

  • Stories of the Berkeley Square monster have always intrigued me - mainly because unlike most encounters with the supernatural, these actually left people dead on several occasions. Of course there are discrepancies with all of the anecdotes, especially the one of the sailors. Most accounts say Blunden was already dead by the time police arrived, his neck broken, some even say he'd been violently dismembered. As far as I know there have been no supernatural encounters there for over a century.

  • Your song kept me enchanted

  • I have studied the place for years but never had the balls or permission to go up there

  • The people at Maggs refuse to comment on the ghost issue. I do know that nobody is allowed in that room. Although the official reason is because it received structural damage from war bombing in the 1940s. Also, Maggs has a policy that no employee must ever be left alone in the building. Maggs wont comment as to why they have that policy.

  • @zazozung I heard the same thing. More or less that a police notice that has been there since at least the late 1940's states that no employee is ever to be left alone on the premises.

  • @zazozung They don´t refuse to talk about it. I was there at 2009 and talked with them about the famous haunting. They gave me some information and som writings about the stuff that happened back in the 19 century..But as you say, the infamous room was locked. They said that the guy who had the key to the room had gone for the day :)

  • Ya, i think it's haunted. It's not the first place though that I've heard of that's haunted and nobody's lived in it because of that.... I know a house in Co. Mayo that no one will leave in because of the sound of a child crying constantly.......spooky....

  • Good Job!
