  • No disrespect to anybody else, but memphis folks r feed this music from an infant to young adult. I think we got the most soul. NO disrepect.

  • Will always Love you Marvin RIP XXX

  • Great recording work and awesome sax and of course badass marvin.

  • Simply Classic.

  • Probably one of the best soul classics of all times! The musical composition is definitely out of this world.

  • id damn that no good slave master for producing that no good step father.

the condition in our families is beyond 1 or 2 even 3 or 4 generations.

  • Damn Marvin Gayes Stepfather to hell.

    We all miss you Marvin.

    RIP.

  • Okay people...we all loved Marvin's music...but there's no need for all of this "damning to hell". We don't even know his stepfather.

  • @KrfNYC2

His Step Father is the one who murdered him.........

  • I know. But we don't know their relationship, the circumstances they were in, the situation when the trigger was pulled, the experiences that Marvin and his stepfather had that made them who they are, the good things that his stepfather may have did...all we know is what we see and hear in the media, and that's not how you get to know a person to the point were you can judge them.

  • @CustomBumpMaker You have it wrong, it was his father not his step father.

  • would u think this be a standard or some arrangement be used in big bands or local bands worldwide plus vocal. This could be a heckuva classic right there. Don't cha think?

  • @imthebrother Oh I agree. People need to hear this. There was more to Marvin than the radio hits.

  • His voice and writings are just so perfect and beautiful. One my top 5 soul artists.

  • WHOSE THE OTHER 4 ?

  • No Particular Order:

    Al Green

    Curtis Mayfield

    Stevie Wonder

    Isaac Hayes

  • Wonderful!!Thanks for the share.

  • 1000 times better than sinatra

  • Oh god yeah. Frank was cool, but not even close to almost near in the same league as Marvin Gaye. Him and Stevie are my top 2. And you can't forget about Ray (By the way...an extremley underrated song from Mr. Charles..."For Mamma").

  • @rebelabyss completely agree with u...the Best of ever!

  • Alright?

Easily one of the best male artists of our time.

  • they don't sing anymore

  • Can anyone enlighten me as to what year this song came out and did Marvin write it himself would appreciate the correct information please

  • the cd notes for this song say M. Gaye Jobete Music /1985 Sony Music...enjoy

  • Thks for your reply i know it is just before Marvin went back to the States and was killed. Must have come out just before he died in 1984 then . I think it is a very classy tune .

  • Most beautiful composition. Thanks for this post. I've been looking for this song.

  • The greatest singer right here...

  • I'll have to agree with you on that. There's not a style that Marvin Gaye couldn't sing. He was just amazingly versatile.

  • @timmy841212 No doubt.
