Lead singer of brand new Jesse Lacey was in the original taking back sunday, so him and John Nolan were good friends. John slept with jesse's girl, and they got into a huge fight over it.

Brand new released the song Seventy times Seven, which was jesses anger taken out on John Nolan.

Nolan then wrote this song, which uses a few lines from brand new's song.

They've since made up, and the bands have performed different versions of both songs live together.
