@aztecwarriorize That's not the main reason her voice is different. She hasn't been smoking all of her music career. Smoking doesn't change your voice so dramatically over night or even a couple years. If you listen to her singing back in the late 90s and early 2000s that is her real voice. The image her producers want for her changed her singing style and that means her voice is trained to where it's at. She probably couldn't get it back to where it used to be =/

@kg35tt Britney has a unique vocal tone and a very specific voice type. It's like Jennifer Lopez. The thing is that when you hear them on the radio, you know it's them. Jennifer Lopez's voice has grown over the years, and she actually has a nice tone and vocal control. She sings live, too. Britney will get to the point where she is the same way. I think one of her main problems is her confidence. She used to say that she wished she had a voice like Whitney or Christina.

All of the current pop singers have distinct voices (whereas in the 80, pop singers with indistinguishable voices could have hits; Paula Abdul, Sheila E, Brenda K. Starr). But... Jennifer Lopez is notorious for always lip-synching. She uses pre-recorded vocals which sometimes sound convincing.
@EmilieSagae Jen used to lip sync a ton, but nowadays, she seems much more comfortable singing live and can actually dance at the same time. I guess it's experience because she used to not be able to do it that well.
Britney Spears had this cute, sweet, innocent, charming personality back then. I think I'd like her more if she stayed that way. I miss that adorable girl. She's just not the same (in my eyes) She's still a performer with a huge fanbase n' lots of people love her. I just miss the old Britney.

Yay!!! Some of the pop artists like her. even Katy Perry can sing perfectly without autotune, But in their concerts they can't sing very well cuz they're always dancing and jumping! That's the thing SO THEY HAVE TOO MUCH TALENT!

omg. if britneys sings like this in her albums...omg. i really like this much better than her autotuned voice. I know that many of u agreed. shes a great singer so i really dont understand why she dont sings like this...this is so much better. i love to see her back again and do what shes doing best but i still miss her real voice, i know shes still have it and i want to hear it on the tour. love u brit, u will always have a BIG piece of my heart. love u <3

@kg35tt Britney has a unique vocal tone and a very specific voice type. It's like Jennifer Lopez. The thing is that when you hear them on the radio, you know it's them. Jennifer Lopez's voice has grown over the years, and she actually has a nice tone and vocal control. She sings live, too. Britney will get to the point where she is the same way. I think one of her main problems is her confidence. She used to say that she wished she had a voice like Whitney or Christina.

@blktrekie29 I agree with you on the importance of having a unique vocal tone, you need one to succeed in pop chart music today. All of the current pop singers have distinct voices (whereas in the 80, pop singers with indistinguishable voices could have hits; Paula Abdul, Sheila E, Brenda K. Starr). Britney definitely has that on her side.
But... Jennifer Lopez is notorious for always lip-synching. She uses pre-recorded vocals which sometimes sound convincing.
