1. They were rookie predators. This whole ordeal on Earth was a test to see if they could hunt. It's just their life style

2. If there wasn't a real threat to the predators and humans, then it wouldn't really be a movie.

I'll admit though, there is no way that the predators are that slow though.

What people don't realize that the director had to make the Xenomorph a little stronger than the Predators. Cuz once you think about the movie was called "Alien" Vs Predator. If the Predators were just killing Aliens over and over again, I think it would've gotten a little repetative. and the Grid (also known as Nethead) was kinda the main Xenomorph through the whole movie, He was the smartest and strongest, besides the Queen.

Aliens are in almost every way better.

Aliens come naturally equipped with the perfect defense mechanisms. They are an all terrain, all purpose organism. Even if you succeed in killing one you have a high chance of acid being sprayed on you or getting on you. Also the aliens are in there perfect environment. Dark, wet, cold, and plenty of climbing and hiding spaces. Aliens are also highly durable and don't need much to live. The predator's greatest asset is it's brain.

@Minecrafter1235467 Except a single alien drone on its own is of little threat to a well armed enemy that is aware of its presence, thats why they need to spawn so many of them. I can buy him getting the drop on chopper, but a single alien drone dispatching two predators is ridiculous.The fight should have been over when Celtic swung him HEAD FIRST into not one, not two, but THREE stone pillars. The alien's head should have been split open at that point.

That's the point. First predator wasn't aware of an alien and the second one just wasn't equipped good enough. Predators are pretty much weak without most of their equipment. If you'll think for a second and remember all the movies with their participation. All that predators can do is just go invisible and shoot their prey with plasma cannon (or whatever long-range weapon), or sometimes kill their helpless opponent with blades. Just that.

actually alien dominates preds in the end, because even if by some stupid chance preds were better than than HUMAN BRED aliens like nethead, a predalien is nearly invincible. the whole point behind alien is that it has superior traits to whatever its bred from, alien is ALWAYS better than its host. everyone compares aliens that are born from humans to the predators, when obviously humans are FAR weaker. Predaliens would pown any pred 1 on 1. avpr doesnt count, since it was a fail movie.

@ttresnan1 - this film is full of contradictions. Of course the Alien's head should have exploded. In the original films, you could kill them with bullets, so why the hell should a massive slab of stone leave it unaffected?

The script-writers had to overpower the Aliens so it would put them on a more even footing with the Predators.

@thomascharlieandrew - my point is that you couldn't shoot Predators to death in the original films - you could with Aliens, though. Tough shit or not, their heads seemed to break just as easily as human heads. The only edge they really had over their prey were their teeth/claws (and it might be easier to survive in a vacuum if you have an exoskeleton), only the queen seemed to have any real level of toughness.

They even made the Aliens' tails ridiculously over-long in this film
