Been four years since i first heard this song and still sounds as fantastic as the first time i listened to it, just pure emotion throughout the whole song. For those wondering what Paul Masvidal actual singing voice sounds like, listen to his other band Aeon Spoke. He has a phenomenal voice and unlike the posers who have to use autofune to fix their shitty voices, the device Paul uses in Cynic require him to actually be able to sing in order to achieve all the different pitches.

It's not a vocoder OR autotune...it's some effects pedal he uses. They had an article about it when the album came out but I don't remember...It just brings his voice up and down an octave pretty much which a little vocoder feel to it

Tambien intercalan y mezclan vocales mas sucios y crudos. Sin duda una banda de death jazz new age electro fusion que no es facil de digerir de buenas a primeras. Pero que trasciende con el tiempo. El primer disco 'Focus' grabado hace mas de 15 anios se escucha mas nuevo y adelantado hasta el dia de hoy.

I heard these guys were similar to and as good as BTBAM(though i see not the vocals so much) and i have to say that i believe the music is more near to than most but in no way close to encompassing the shear virtuosity of BTBAM's composing and bandmanship capabilities. He plays that really hard and fast riff and sings in a "chorus" calm voice at the same time. What's awesome is that both fit perfectly even if considered opposites and his coordination and skill is superb. Paul is awesome. Cynic is the best band ever.

To everyone saying Paul uses auto-tune he's not. Vocoder is just to add harmonies and to give effects to teh voice...auto-tune CORRECTS the voice..it replaces notes. If you listen to the songs on re-trace, he doesn't use auto-tune and you'll see how he really has a great singing voice.
