Dive? If I took a dive, I wouldn't go head first into the boards. I don't think anyone would. There's no mastering it involved. You hit it at the wrong spot just slightly...career over..
Wow!!! You must be an expert!!! Tell us more!!! Must be a Habs fan. The only sarcastic remarks are always from the "Expert original six fans". Keep hanging on to that card, that way you can talk to everyone who posts their opinions on Hockey like a 5 year old through the comfort of the internet. Nothing like wearing your weakness like a badge of honor.
Your an idiot. Obviously you've never played hockey before, at least not above juinors. But at least it sounds like you have worn the "Magic Helmet" that defends against cheap shots and slappers. Malone is not a diver. If your really a hockey fan, you would know that. That's why that penalty was called. Maybe Huskins shouldn't go Avery or Neill on everyone, and maybe that's not called. Huskins has tossed cheapers around for quite some time.
@Ovi guy with numbers and shit! like RaDa67 said: I don't even like the pens, but that wasn't a dive. even a blind Caps fan can see that!! Yeah, it was a soft check, but the guy just fell... didnt even look like he was trying to draw the penalty!!! oh and btw ,Crosby is a crybaby... but Ovi kinda looks like a monkey on skates, so u lose on that one aswell.. not sayin he sucks, just that hes ugly as fuuuuuu.... not sayin that crosby sucks... just that hes a winy little biiiii....
it might of been a dive but doing one into the boards is so awesome cause i plaay hokcey and ive mastered it. its sooooooo funny to see the other guy get a 10 minute penalty
i think diving is an art......i play hockey, and if you can make it look real, why not.......like, the people that take really unrealistic dives, are the ones that deserve the penalty for it, but if it looks real, i say its fine
im not saying i take tons of dives........ive seen some pretty bad dives, and i hate it........but, dives are only used right if there is a potential penalty to begin with.........
you arent creating a penalty call, your just making it more obvious
It's not diving. Malone just sucks. I watched him clean the ice in Pittsburgh for 4 or 5 years...I don't remember how long they had that bum. Ironic that when they ditched the dead weight (he wasn't the only one), they won the cup.
Well it was the refs bad judgement, right? You get a penalty for diving just like you do for hooking or tripping or slashing. So for every missed slashing call then you can say that person is cheating as well.
If the ref deems it to be a dive yes there is the penalty for that, I see where you are coming from.
Missed calls do happen but i'm looking at this purely from the "principle of the thing" perspective
I just think it's cheap and dirty and plain out cheating, when someone FAKES being hurt/ tripped etc, with the intent of giving their team an advantage they should never have had.
look at malone's posture, perfect dive. No way a tap on the back like that would knock him down at that high considering he had both feet pointing outwards and he feel in the direction of his stick which is complelety faked. Also, he did a inverted spin in the opposite direction of the way he was turning so theres no reason for why he fell like that and I blame the referee more then anyone.
so when ovechkin almost broke briere's spine, that was just briere being a gutless pussy? this was a dive, but you don't need to be such a fucking ass about it. and crosby hasn't dove since his rookie year.
are you seriously trying to compare those two hits? they aren't even close. when ovechkin hit briere, he hit him full shoulder completely intentionally and knocked him full force into the boards face first. briere was slowing down to go back on the bench and didn't even know he was back there.
malone on the other hand, was in the play, standing still and barely got tapped and yet went flying in like that? bullshit.
he is a gutless pussy and so are you for trying to defend him like that.
take a look at the comments from the ovechkin fanboys on that vid. i wouldn't compare the two normally, but there's nuff comments like "oh that was a soft hit, briere's just a pussy". and where did i try to defend malone? i'm pretty sure i clearly said this was a dive.
crosby may have not dove, but he did many other things...and trying to take away from ovechkin? Ovechkin had the decency to actually personally call briere and also make a public apology and it was his ONLY large incident which was not even a deplayed check whatsoever
what "many other things"? and this was his only "large" incident, but ovechkin is constantly running guys and slew footing them. however, the only thing ever shown on the highlights is the goal he scored after taking like 15 shots. and it's not like ovechkin's never taken a dive either.
by the way you speak i can tell your just a fan, and a fan you will stay. Watch a game after playing hockey for 13 years all season round and then you'll understand what is being done on the ice. Till then, have fun on youtube chat.
Well, since i don't understand, why don't you explain to me why exactly alex ovechkin takes runs at opposing players, and/or slew foots them into the boards? and you didn't answer my first question or counter my points. nice evasive maneuver though.
examples of how crosby manipulates himself to the fans: He claims injury to all star games twice in a row (to keep demand). He blames all team issues on discipline, and that same night was the night he fought of when he mentioned...etc...lol evasive manuever...ididnt think you were so unintelligent that you couldnt even find examples for yourself. Also, Ovechkin didnt smash Briere against the boards, Briere was not expecting the hit, which he should always expect no matter what.Hockey is physical
so you're trying to say he should expect to get hit in the back as he's going off on a change? and as for claiming injuries, i think an injury is legit if you miss games because of it, why risk aggravating it in a meaningless game? and so one postgame comment constitutes his whole career? btw, how'd you like ovechkin's ejection tonight? keep telling yourself he plays hard not dirty, it might actually come true someday
Would yo ulike me to state EACH one of Crosby's manipulating incidents? If so, i dont have a week to spend typing. Ovechkin's ejection was only because it was a hard hit which led the player into the boards, but it was a clean hit itself. Unfortunalely, players dont go with the simple rule *head up*. Also, yes, if you recently ahd the puck, even if your getting off, expect a hit, even if your on the bench, after a whistle whenever. Once again, your just a fan, and you should stay that way.
whatever you ignorant fuck. crosby's not perfect, but at least most of his fans can admit it. for you dumbass ovechkin fanboys, he's a god and can never do anything wrong. maybe if you'd stop choking on ovechkin's dick for five seconds, you might realize that there are other good players in the NHL
Funny how your getting so mad, i guess admitting defeat is difficult. I actually am not a fanboy of Ovechkin but i am capable of stating what is a dirty play and what isn't. Have fun participating in hockey as a fan, when you start playing for yourself you'll realize who are the players that should really be given credit.
alright whatever mister "im a 12 year old, and i play hockey, therefore i know more than you". your points might actually have some merit if you didn't feel the need to repeat yourself everytime you say something. and you're clearly a lousy judge of a dirty play, if you're gonna try and say that blindsiding a guy who's turning to change isn't dirty. if that happened to you, could you honestly say you would get up and be like "whatever, no big deal"?
The reason for why I'm saying it is because Ive already checked an opposing team member as he was going to change but it was no big deal as whoever would get hit should expect that the 3 second rule applys as long as your on the ice. Ive already seen others get checked in such manner. Also, just because you feel outsmarted doesn't mean you have to call others around you young ignorant children.
how bout ovechkin getting suspended yesterday? guess he's gonna be a repeat offender from now on. and in response to your comment, did you have half a foot on him? was it from behind? if not, you argument isn't really valid. if so, i guess people are learning to be complete douchebags on the ice. and that's not me getting outsmarted, that's just me realizing that athletes are slowly becoming classless douchebags.
Yes, all sports have a vast majority of player of whom have no class. Anything which is competitive requires no class to participate in.When you check someone, do yuo give him a hand to help him up *kind of thing*.
so it that a "yes my point is invalid because it was completely different"? i can never tell because you never answer the question. and playing physical has absolutely nothing to do with class, class is what it's called when you play, and you're not doing extremely reckless things endangering other players. clearly mr ovechkin never got that memo. and did you hear his spoiled child quote? "this suspension might make me angry" whatta douche
lol....you make it seem like im an ovechkin fanboy, just because i hate crosby and what hes done to the NHL doesnt mean i care much for Ovechkin. Though yes, his suspension was legitimate and im unaware of that quote but i will keep watching and see what happens...
but you havent really said why you hate crosby, all you've spouted is the usual "he's a crybaby" excuse. the only problem with that is that it stopped after his rookie year.
You gotta understand with Busy...he's not the erm...most graceful guy out there LMAO
I don't think this was a dive...especially that close to the boards...he's goofy, not stupid. He could've really hurt himself but thank goodness he didn't.
It's possible he may have moved forward a bit on his own to absorb the push then kind of lost his balance because of it...I don't think it was really a dive.
sens havent won a cup yet retards this is a cross-check thats a pently and hit from behind pently but your thinking dive im saying tripped up on his skates and sens suck good like cock munchers
Not really a dive and irishman your only saying that because your team faces the pens. I guarantee you wouldnt be saying that if you had players like malkin and crosby on your team.
not really a dive considering if he didn't stay up and not fall as hard he would have broke his neck.... its alot harder to stay balanced when in a position like that especially getting cross checked were he did.
yea well if u get cross checked in the hip/lower back area it really messes up ur center of gravity with is a big factor if how well you can skate and stayed balanced while playing hockey... my friend took me out doing that same thing at hockey practice and i was one of the best skaters on the team.
That wasn't a dive. He was simply off balance and got pushed. He shouldnt have been that easy to knock down, but you can clearly tell that that wasnt a HUGE dive just to take a penelty....
this is a smart play to draw a penalty, but crosby is a huge pussy who dives all the time. sure hes good good but hes one of the biggest pussies i have ever seen. anyone would beat his ass
thats called getting your feet moving as fast as your upper boddy to regain your centre of gravity. although i do agree it wasn't that hard of a push, there wasn't any delayed reaction. perfect timing or shit balance.
"Ryan Malone of the Pittsburgh Penguins embellishes a soft check from Kent Huskins" Really? Looks like a crosscheck to me. Hard to keep your balance when your hunched over and someone pushes you. Also, what XjoshhyX is explaining is called boarding (also a penalty).
Ok seeing as how a majority of you probably can't even stand on skates. When you get hit like that leaning forward it throws off you're balance more. The further forward you lean the tips of your skate can dig in awkardly and cause you to lose balance.
It wasn't a dive he got pushed and lost his balance. The only reason it was a penalty is because it was a dangerous hit where he could've went face first into the boards and gotten seriously injured.
no this is wrong because according to everyone Crosby dives all the time and nobody else does. people its called drawing a penalty. people get on crosby because he is great and know how to push the right buttons and draw penalties.
you can clearly see that he was pushed, it wasnt a dive at all, he did lose his footing aswell, but he was still pushed from behind, and as for what the anouncer said, he was probably rooting for anaheim, ever listen to mark crawford while vancouver is playing any team, its rediculous what he says.
I can see why you might call it a dive but you can't be sure. Huskins did fully extend his arms showing that he did put effort into the cross check. Add that to it being in Malone's lower back while he is bent foreward and you can understand how Malone lost his center of gravity.
clearly you dont play hockey. Its not hard to lose your balance on skates. And do not doubt Huskins upper body strength. He is a strong dude. He can put a ton of force on a guy like malone with relative ease.
penguins always fucking dive and im getting so sick of it im about to fucking snap one of these days and do something horrible to them

this is a smart play to draw a penalty, but crosby is a huge pussy who dives all the time. sure hes good good but hes one of the biggest pussies i have ever seen. anyone would beat his ass
iNSiiDiiOUs 2 years ago
I'm a flyers fan ok. That says enough
But anyone who plays hockey, knows this isn't a dive.
Now cindy crosby, hahahha those are dives.
sgrigy94 2 years ago
yeah ik these guys are stupid but crosby doesnt do that as much as he did when he first showed up in the NHL

i am a huge pens fan and i still like malone because i think he is a great player but that was a dive....nevertheless he helped his team in this case
felix2606 2 years ago
It's called drawing a penalty....
Ian051189 2 years ago
it is ice not solid ground it is easy to fall
pistolpete667 2 years ago
What dive? He was leaning forward and the force of the guy pushed him forward making him lose his balance. Lol this is a fail title.
LeKkkkkkkkk 2 years ago 4
You're an idiot. Did you notice the delayed reaction and the extra kick from the skate from Malone?
belegarthbrooder 2 years ago
thats called getting your feet moving as fast as your upper boddy to regain your centre of gravity. although i do agree it wasn't that hard of a push, there wasn't any delayed reaction. perfect timing or shit balance.
84hotshot84 2 years ago
Hella dive. I hope that swim was refreshing
jerrytimes 2 years ago 5
thats not a dive, he was leaning forward, nd he got pushed, nd lost his balance, obviously its not a dive
mastermax2k8 2 years ago 2
eh, he did exaggerate the fall, but it was a hard enough push that he could fall forward onto a knee
hockeybozo26 2 years ago
matching minors, cross checking and embellishment, you can definitely tell once he felt the stick he fell forward on purpose to draw the penalty
SouthP17CD 2 years ago
that´s not a dive
MarcusSwe9 2 years ago
he lost his balance?? haha.. anyone see the massive push off his left foot? dive. All penguins are pussies too.
podruski 2 years ago
definatly a cross check
halpinghand 2 years ago 3
I think every one knows that.Lol
macedonianhockeyfrk 2 years ago
they evn announced its a cross check.
macedonianhockeyfrk 2 years ago
Video should be retitled -- That's not a dive.
Players don't drive themselves into boards with their heads curled into their shoulders to make the damage "look real" and draw a penalty.
Watch his right skate...He's not pushing to get the power. Then his left skate...Soon as he's cross-checked, his skate goes to toe...
Sometimes commentators get it wrong people. Sometimes refs get it right.
This is not a dive.
NilDesperandum777 2 years ago
haha i think malone exaggerated a bit
iheartclarkent 2 years ago
The announcer speaks as if that was a great play. yes it resulted in a penalty but
hockey3761 2 years ago
since when was crosby number 12??
dbhawks05 2 years ago 3
If i had the ability to give this comment a 5 star rating I would.
NkuNorse12 2 years ago

expertpensfan58 2 years ago
uhhh think that over again. Pitt fans need to realize that everyone but them absolutely had sidney crosby and the pens\
jboidaman99 2 years ago
i dont live in pits and there not my fav team

Ganging up on MW players

"Ryan Malone of the Pittsburgh Penguins embellishes a soft check from Kent Huskins" Really? Looks like a crosscheck to me. Hard to keep your balance when your hunched over and someone pushes you. Also, what XjoshhyX is explaining is called boarding (also a penalty).
NibblerVStheBrain 2 years ago
Agreed. I don't think it was a dive.
Urbura 2 years ago 2
ok that was so dirty
raventwentyfour 2 years ago
I dont see any diving.
jaromT 2 years ago
Ok seeing as how a majority of you probably can't even stand on skates. When you get hit like that leaning forward it throws off you're balance more. The further forward you lean the tips of your skate can dig in awkardly and cause you to lose balance.
It wasn't a dive he got pushed and lost his balance. The only reason it was a penalty is because it was a dangerous hit where he could've went face first into the boards and gotten seriously injured.
XjoshhyX 2 years ago 3
this isnt figure skating buddy, skates just dont "dig in akwardly" when you lean forward...especially when your playing in the NHL
grad2006 2 years ago
Diving or not its a hit from behind.
EldritchM 2 years ago
A push is different than a hit. That was a clear dive, and a push, something like what happens at the front of the net on every shift.
macattack82991 2 years ago
it's not diving .. he just lost his balance .. ;)
NaturalMassacre 2 years ago
I hate pittsburgh players, they are all like that

i for some reason remember seeing this
dylpickleboy 2 years ago
lol same
Smeags11 2 years ago
no this is wrong because according to everyone Crosby dives all the time and nobody else does. people its called drawing a penalty. people get on crosby because he is great and know how to push the right buttons and draw penalties.
jhopp1234 2 years ago
Actually it is a penalt, its called embilishment, not drawing a penalty, and it makes you look like an a**hole
NwJrsyDevs 2 years ago
no, drawing a penalty is when you honestly get tripped or slashed or something, diving is just being a faggot pussy bitch. Mostly Swedes do it
Smeags11 2 years ago
you can clearly see that he was pushed, it wasnt a dive at all, he did lose his footing aswell, but he was still pushed from behind, and as for what the anouncer said, he was probably rooting for anaheim, ever listen to mark crawford while vancouver is playing any team, its rediculous what he says.
grad2006 2 years ago
thats the penguins announcer, or at least not the ducks announcer
dylpickleboy 2 years ago
he just lost his balence
theEdge498 2 years ago 2
it kinda looks like he just lost his footing, i wouldnt really call it a dive.
it always shouldnt have been a penalty though.

OriginalKinkster 2 years ago
lol thats such a dive, and i am not a fan of either team. like the commentator said, he felt the stick and propelled himself forward.
gnomit 2 years ago
Meh, I wouldn't call it a hit from behind, just looks like he nudged him enough to make him loose his balance.
Paintedawg 2 years ago
That wasn't a dive at all...

NikeBauerONE55 2 years ago 3
not much of a dive... looked like he tripped
NYRangersHockey77 2 years ago
thats not a dive, he was bent over when he was hit from behind and lost his balance.
thockey1hockey 2 years ago
he just lost control
russia4life1 2 years ago
I can see why you might call it a dive but you can't be sure. Huskins did fully extend his arms showing that he did put effort into the cross check. Add that to it being in Malone's lower back while he is bent foreward and you can understand how Malone lost his center of gravity.
jgumpc 2 years ago
clearly you dont play hockey. Its not hard to lose your balance on skates. And do not doubt Huskins upper body strength. He is a strong dude. He can put a ton of force on a guy like malone with relative ease.
starazor0 2 years ago
I've played hockey for 20 years... NHL players don't fall from a MINOR shove. Dive 100%
