MADE IN CHINA ... Gee, now there's a big surprise. However, I thought it all oozed out of SA. Either way, I would never buy one of those "packages" at any price, let alone from HSN. My advice to anyone wishing to learn how to play an instrument is to BUY THE REAL THING. You can never go wrong that way., and if you should decide to give it up, you have something with resale value.
I bought this package. The DVD's are excellent and I like Esteban as a guitarist. That being said, I am VERY disappointed with the guitar. It is very "buzzy" especially on the 4th string. Stretching and re-tuning does not help. I went to the Best Buy music shop and tried out a Yamaha, Epiphone, Taylor and Martin Guitar and like the guy below said "You get what you pay for.". I'm thinking of gifting my guitar set (I'm keeping the CD's) to my brother in law for his birthday and buying a Yamaha.
If you are in the market for a beginner's guitar, look for a used one on craigslist. You can get a better guitar for the same money. Most beginners choose a guitar based on the paint or finish, not realizing that they can paint anything and make it LOOK good. Get someone you know that is a serious musician or guitarist to give you advice before ordering something like this.
i love esteban and hes got great value prices for entry players. But like you said, most of his guitars are mass produced and made in China. I've been playing guitar now for 4 years, but i started on an Esteban i bought from QVC, great starter guitar, but after some time playing the tuners would go out of tune, and it really lacked a rich tone, so i sold it.
@mrhonkee ive been playing my esteban for 9 years now and it stays in tune, sounds very good, and never had a structural problem with it. one fine guitar for $100
@MrGrandsOuttakes The guitar case is interesting. It's a cross between a soft and hard shell case. It has a Styrofoam core covered in fabric. So it is light but provides good protection as well as being nice and furry inside. The stand is simple and sturdy appears to be real wood. I have no buyers remorse on this purchase so far!
Are you ever going to post a video of you playing this guitar?

The Chinese are very efficient at packing because their hands get cut off if they make a mistake.

Nice vid! How's the case? Some of the prices don't seem to bad, just for the case and stand...assuming they are any good.
