when i hear this i feel like i just launched out of my secret volcano rocket silo and am steadily drifting towards the moon base, as schematics of the bases layouts are displayed before me. i drink my coffee packet (zero-g so it does not spill) the final stage of the rocket brakes open to reveal a sleek space plane(think 2001 a space odyssey) it aproaches the base as maneuvering jets fire, the suddenly the crater opens up revealed to be a secret landing pad. i sit and laugh at the tiny earth.

A much harder place to put a base would be on the deepest parts of the Atlantic ocean connected to a mountain, almost impossible to reach with out taking the secret elevator in a tree trunk near the Bermuda triangle. Certain trees would be specially made to suck in air and release hydrogen, the air would go to the base. The base of course, could not be cracked or the immense pressure would kill us all, while the EVIL GENIUS would be on his/her secret lair near the moon of mars; Phobos & Deimos

@M30W3R My bathroom is just connected to my inner sanctum which, even though it's only behind two heavy forcefield-reinforced doors instead of fourteen, it IS protected by eight plasma turrets, four focus turrets, and two teams of Unggoy SpecOps. Also, any humans that attempt to enter my base (which is completely underground, not in a mountain) without breathing apparatus will suffocate in the methane-rich environment.

@durge666 Ah yes super heated plasma and methane plus a small amount of oxygen from every time someone opens the door to the outside. That is such a safe place to be.

@LanceSniper001 Well obviously by base has a serious of airlocks. And fire cannot start in a methane environment. It needs oxygen. As long as I keep the oxygen out (which isn't very hard, given that the base is both deep underground, completely airtight, and equipped with extremely efficient air filtration systems), there's no problem.
