The Commencement room is where this started, and the following battle wouldn't be so much a boss battle is it was a mind game. Those laughs were annoying to listen to throughout the fight.

@xSege123x It was released for PSP and PS3. Go play it. I really don't like II because of the spell leveling system, but I'm not whining about it. VIII was strange with it's Draw system for Magic, but I liked it.

I feel like FFVIII is more than just a game, this music sounds so sad yet so powerful, I really loved this game at 8 years old, and still do now. @MarkoPolo530 I agree about the story. I recently heard that there is a theory that Squall never survived Edes's atttack at the end of Disc 1 and the rest of the game was just an illusion. Personally, I think they did the classic two alternative future cliche. One is where Squall died from that attack and Ultimecia destroyed the world and the other was where Squall and company saved it and defeated Ultimecia. Obviously, that didn't roll over too well.
@MrKeyblademaster1992 true, the story is extremely complicated and is open to interptretations. even the ending is not very cear. some believe squall dies but other think he lives. when they show the clip of Irvine recording at the party, you see Rinhoa on the balcony but not squall. then it switches over to a cutscene and squall is right next to her. is he a ghost? it still remains a mystery because no one knows for sure, as it is not officially stated that he is dead
Don't you wish they had said he was dead or not? I still stand by my theory of two alternative futures because of that fact. I find that to be the most logical way to explain it.

What's really freaky though is to watch the FMV at the end of the game while this is playing. It's like bloody mary 1999 or something. Actually, I was 9 that year, so if you can imagine just how bad it was for 9 year olds to hear this...it's like this game was designed to scare the shit out of little kids!
Man, I loved this one's boss fight. I was like 'FINALLY! a game where you fight through all the landscapes in the game!'. Way better than Chrono Trigger's Lavos fight, that's for sure.
FFVIII was the best FF hands down. Nothing else can compare. I often look back at this game and just remembering how good it was I break into tears. No other game has had an impact on my life like this one. I think I'll go load it up again soon. FUCK it was amazing.
I finished 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2 and 12, but 8 was my first Final Fantasy. It drew me in like very few games before and after. I love the story's complexity and its carefully obscured background which basically lets you decide whether you continue the plot or explore and collect the countless side experiences which also had a replay factor just off the differing comments from the characters. And then the soundtrack. A true masterpiece. Imagine the game had FF XIII's visuals.
@brianfrescas I absolutely agree with you 100%. This game is not only the best FF game ever, but I firmly believe is the best game ever made. It has everything. AWESOME storyline wrought with action and drama. Memorable characters (hint hint, my name). Engrossing gameplay and battle system. And of course a kickass soundtrack. This game had my gaming heart since its conception as a demo in the PS1 game Brave Fencer Musashi.

This is the type of music I'd expect to hear before dying. I feel like FFVIII is more than just a game, this music sounds so sad yet so powerful, I really loved this game at 8 years old, and still do now. I WISH I could play it and still get that magic from the initial play. I need to work for Square man...You guys commenting are all my inspiration

Both FF7, and FF8 have probably the best tracks imo. The music just fit all the settings in both games. Truly my 1, and 2 FF's in no particular order.

@MarkoPolo530 I agree about the story. I recently heard that there is a theory that Squall never survived Edes's atttack at the end of Disc 1 and the rest of the game was just an illusion. Personally, I think they did the classic two alternative future cliche. One is where Squall died from that attack and Ultimecia destroyed the world and the other was where Squall and company saved it and defeated Ultimecia. Obviously, that didn't roll over too well.

@MrKeyblademaster1992 true, the story is extremely complicated and is open to interptretations. even the ending is not very cear. some believe squall dies but other think he lives. when they show the clip of Irvine recording at the party, you see Rinhoa on the balcony but not squall. then it switches over to a cutscene and squall is right next to her. is he a ghost? it still remains a mystery because no one knows for sure, as it is not officially stated that he is dead

What's really freaky though is to watch the FMV at the end of the game while this is playing. It's like bloody mary 1999 or something. Actually, I was 9 that year, so if you can imagine just how bad it was for 9 year olds to hear this...it's like this game was designed to scare the shit out of little kids!

FFVIII was the best FF hands down. Nothing else can compare. I often look back at this game and just remembering how good it was I break into tears. No other game has had an impact on my life like this one. I think I'll go load it up again soon. FUCK it was amazing.

I finished 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2 and 12, but 8 was my first Final Fantasy. It drew me in like very few games before and after. I love the story's complexity and its carefully obscured background which basically lets you decide whether you continue the plot or explore and collect the countless side experiences which also had a replay factor just off the differing comments from the characters. And then the soundtrack. A true masterpiece. Imagine the game had FF XIII's visuals.

@brianfrescas I absolutely agree with you 100%. This game is not only the best FF game ever, but I firmly believe is the best game ever made. It has everything. AWESOME storyline wrought with action and drama. Memorable characters (hint hint, my name). Engrossing gameplay and battle system. And of course a kickass soundtrack. This game had my gaming heart since its conception as a demo in the PS1 game Brave Fencer Musashi.
