In the end it doesn't so not matter if you're black or white? BUUUUHU it's a skincolour, and... what else? Nothing.
I wonder when people stop being so stupid about such things. I mean seriously, I really don't understand how someone can reduce somebody to his/her skincolour. That's ridiculous and only shows a lack of education and cogitation (sorry, but otherwise it's simply impossible to have such an opinion).
I very much enjoyed your charming recital of this "song" in spoken words.... when you know the original, it is very interesting, how this poem lives on the wings of another language... :)
I have never thought that this poem could be that emotional in english translation as well. This is the first time I have heard it translated. Very Good
That was beautiful. Beautiful imagery, and that reading gave me goosebumps. I do have to wonder, though, what we're losing in the translation... it's like reading epic poetry, they say when you read the Odyssey in the original Greek it's a whole different picture.
You are beautiful & indeed your heart has come to enhance your words enabling them to reach out into the ether that is life and causing life to renew itself in me and I am certain others. Thank you for it, thank you for being who you really are, for being you; for it is you that makes these words live and forever be apart of me.

Some blacks are offendet as well if a white person claims their culture..
whatever- I dont care about your reactions..

Read black poets or hip hop. Rilke is not for black people. it doesnt fit.

@Btrachter You- sir (no Capitals, for you!) are the kind of bigoted, racist ass, Rilke would have been revolted by! Go back to your Bunker!

@twilight4192 calm down. Your comment is still not as gay as twilight. Rilke admired Mussolini and fascism btw. :D :D

Nice!! Here the original Lyrics Part 1
Liebes-Lied
Wie soll ich meine Seele halten, daß
sie nicht an deine rührt? Wie soll ich sie
hinheben über dich zu anderen Dingen?
Ach gerne möcht ich sie bei irgendwas
Verlorenem im Dunkel unterbringen
an einer fremden stillen Stelle, die
nicht weiterschwingt, wenn deine Tiefen schwingen.

Part 2
Doch alles, was uns anrührt, dich und mich,
nimmt uns zusammen wie ein Bogenstrich,
der aus zwei Saiten eine Stimme zieht.
Auf welches Instrument sind wir gespannt?
Und welcher Geiger hat uns in der Hand?
O süßes Lied.
