  • Now we have up to 96GB of ram who would need that besides people who want bragging rights.

  • I have had mine since 2008 and these machines are the best on the market.

I used to switch out my old PC every year and a half. The MAC PRO is a monster.

  • This thing still smokes the shit out of my computer..fml lol

  • i randomly clicked on the scroll bar on three positions, and all got Bill speaking the word "performance".........

  • Wasn't the gfx card on the Dell better than the 7300

  • Who cares bout power per watt? BURN DA WORLD!! mwahahah Anyways i love my Mac Pro! I got the newer one though :D

  • U guys mean iPhone 4g

  • ):0-8

  • i LOVE THE LAUGH AT 7:26

  • We should expect a major update to all Mac products this year. Macbook, Macbook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro and Mac Mini. I predict Quad Core i5 or i7 processors, more RAM and maybe some new awesome features. Also... new iPhone should be out soon as well. This should be an AWESOME year for Apple users.

  • Can't wait for new iPhone.. Have my $1000AU waiting for this :) Was waiting for Android2 phones, but they are not here yet in australia

  • @bathellfire no chance of new imacs or macbook pros(at least design wise) they upgraded the processors and my thoughts are it will be all about iphone and ipad.

im excited to see the 4.0 on ipad

  • @Cmac787 They should have an upgrade for Macbooks sometime in October. I hope they'll change the design a bit, even though i have a MBP15" and I like the unibody design. iPad is sometihng i am planning to get soon, once the hype settles down (I've seen an iPad and played with... liked it a lot, want to see iPhone OS4 on it). Also can't wait for the new iPhone.

  • @bathellfire i wasn't too into the ipad, until i saw it and played with it in future shop.

everybody who has judged or spoken badly about the ipad has to use one first.

  • @d1995a3 like your a good one

  • Yeah. I am a good one!

  • Maxed out Mac Pro is almost as expensive as it gets. You could get a premium car for that price!

  • Prenium car for around $25,000? Not really. Not here in the US, that is. A well-equipped Lexus or Mercedes will be roughly $55-70 grand

  • ... Not a sports car, an above average car! But if you pulled some strings and involved yourself with the yakuza, I bet you could get a Lexus for that price! ;)

  • Steve Jobs delivers good but presentations.

  • Too bad that Apple has now focused their attention to ipad, ipod, etc.. and is leaving the mac pro behind, well, not behind per say, but is not really bringing out any new updates for it, as its not making Apple any real money.

I think out of all the macs, the mac pro's days are numbered.

  • @Nadav34 err. The Mac Pro get's an update this year..

The Mac Pro 2008 or the Newest 2009 is still better than the iMac 27' i7. Until the iMac beats the Mac pro there will be an update.

  • @Nadav34 yeah their only improving their imacs, portables, and other stuff (apps, itunes ipod ipad etc.)

  • Apple has a small professional user base, just like every other 'consumer electronics' business (clue is in the title). The revenues it gets from that market are going to be rather low.

An update to the Mac Pro should be coming soon.

  • I switched from a Dell Xeon workstation to a 2.93 GHz Quad Nehalem Mac Pro and I couldn't be happier.

  • I still think both the 2008-2009 mac pros are the best! But, it seems that Apple really isn't giving the mac pro, EXCEPT LAPTOPS and others, the given attention lately, as they believe the ipad and iphone + ipods are the future of Apple, which this leads me to believe that Apple isn't interested in bringing out an update to the mac pro.

Personally, the 3.2ghz Harpertown I own is fast enough for my needs.

  • they just updated it but nothing big i think theyre going o put glftown 6 core porcessors

  • Hey. The standard one had the graphics card - that with our other PC- we had to buy separately about a year later!

  • The Mac Pro is amazing but I would never give my G5 Quad up for a Mac Pro, I love them to much :)

    (sry for my english)

  • In a few years, it might end up as a collector's item. I owe the G5 Quad a lot as without it, I could never have jumped to a 2006 mac pro, and in turn I thank the 2006 mac pro for allowing me to jump to the 2008 3.2ghz mac pro!

I am uncertain if I am going to get a 2009, as what I use my mac pro for I don't need nehalem based features though.

  • yes but the key word here is "high-end users"

  • that's not that much.

  • True... It's expensive as hell. If you don't need that much computer, it's better to go with the iMac. Still, great computer.

  • Realize that this was cheap compared to the CHEAP MAKER when they came out, but realize that you're not remembering that these are for the high end users and high end pros. And SERVERS.

  • love the mac pro

  • i wish steve still had his beard

  • i would feel sorry to people who bought g5's the day before this keynote:)

  • nobody would buy products right before major Apple keynotes :)

  • But what if the person didnt know! :)

  • I agree steve's keynotes are better, but i think he isn't that bad

  • Yeah, thats sure. He will be fine someday.

He underwent a liver transplant and it was successful.

  • I love Steve's keynotes =] Hope to see you back on stage this autumn !!

  • Agree, I missed him, although Phil Schiller gives good keynotes too
