  • Great Stuff! ...love that background piece... I too want to know the name of it?

  • right up there and probably past Laurie Anderson. Just saying...

  • The first time I heard Joe, it was like a slo-mo tornado pulling me into another dimension....

  • During my Boston years in early 90's, I use to listen to Joe on Sunday nights I think, but can't remember what radio station it was. I'm real glad I found this channel. Thanks Joe!

  • joe should do some video game voicing.

  • Does anyone know if the song really exist ? Maybe can you tell me the title ? :)

By the way, great performance Joe!

    Cheers, from Italy.

  • @itsiks92 The back ground music is just back ground music that is played by his band. He usually does a radio show with a live ban backing his spoken word stuff just like this performance.

  • Is this the same man I heard while working the grave yard shift at Brewer's Dry Dock in Staten Island New York in 1977? He was broadcasting from somewhere in Manhattan that night. I was so impressed with his broadcast, I called the station. It was not a call in show, but the man himself answered (off the air) and spoke to me on the phone, even though I was a lowly security guard working at Brewer's Dry Dock in Staten Island New York. I told him I thought he was a genius. He said "thank you".

  • To see Joe live is the closest I've come to a peak experience; oh, and there was some gin and tonic in the mix too!! Thank you Joe...

  • audience laughter makes this less intense. Still sick though.

  • Hi Joe! About time you had a channel here! :) Come back to Chicago!!

  • I remember when it snowed in the Sahara...

  • My favorites: Enterprising Man, Mountain Rain, Bible Salesman, A Death in the Family, Escape from Paradise, Cave Dreamer.

  • Joe Frank, Incredible, fan for many decades and to start your long journey, try The Dictator, parts 1-3.

  • Very cool!! I've listened to Joe since the late 80's. One of a kind talent....

  • I was at this show!

It was clear that he meant something sacred to everyone there in the audience. You could just tell.

I want him to come back to Chicago- I'll see him every time.

  • Joe, I do the intros and outros for your show on KGOU.

    I really enjoy your work.

  • I seriously wish I had been here for this performance. Please come back man, I'll pay the airfare.

  • great stuff Joe...

  • #LOL

  • Joe Frank is a genius. His show in on in New York City on Sunday Nights on WNYC-AM. Check the station's website for more details. I love Joe's voice, writing, the band arrangements... all of it. I first heard him on WBAI-FM back in the day...

  • i bought a joe frank ipod with his entire radio shows loaded on it a couple of years ago. i listen to it nearly every day at work, it is the best thing i have ever spent my money on....blues singer, eye in the sky, escape from paradise, bitter pill, the sacred, bad karma, are all brilliant shows. his conversations with larry block are hilarious, how's that for a couple of acres and the runaway bunny renditions crack me up every time. one of the few originals around

  • @flabbdad I've had my eye on that for a long time. I'm glad you got it and I know I will eventually myself. He's such a great artist.

Thank you for bringing your creativity out for the world to experience.

  • @Ignantredneck Story with me. Exactly the same. Rainy night driving home from my girlfriend's apartment, listening to WBEZ at 11 pm, Sunday. I drove around aimlessly, just listening.

  • @Ignantredneck same station as me, once i heard him i couldnt stop listening lol

  • @Ignantredneck That's how I started listening to him, too!

  • in a just and reasonable world, the majority of youtube clips would somehow involve Joe. He's the best.
