  • Beautiful!!!!!!

  • This song will of course be the song by which Judy Collins is remembered,it is almost her signature song. judy collins had a beautful voice and she carries it off beauttifully. The boys in the background also add something to this particular version. also it i thought provoking that this

version takes place in Washington D.C.

  • judy collins one of my very favorites, once I was blind but now I see,

  • The finest version of all she has ever done!!!

  • a big voice thank you

  • @christlicker What's shameful to the Lord is your comment.

  • @comradeshow Nuh uh.

  • @christlicker Keep chewing the bible and STF. A-Hole!!

  • @christlicker eww u morron should be ashame of yourself how dare u talk like that.. u being alive is a waste of human..God is good to have you living.. seriously mature..and seek jesus..!

  • Listening to the song and her voice, I admit that I feel like crying each time...

  • Absolutely stunning!!!

  • Unlike one or two negative contributors, and each to their own, this performance is perfection. Listen to the depth of feeling along with uplifting range and tone. Amazing Grace is (like many other hymns) one of the very best and Judy Collins voice is a gift which I appreciate. Thank you Judy.

  • Beautiful song- Judy's beatiful voice, beautiful choir backing and..... beautiful eyes. Think I'm getting God...

  • beatiuful miss dr. turnbull miss singing with the choir academy of harlem

  • Love this song, have sung it is church choir many time and it still brings a sense of calm to my heart

  • omg...truly amazing rendition, judy !

    god bless.

  • As a young 20ish guy in the early 1960's, I'm not sure how much I appreciated two devine voices from the gods, like Judy Collins and Joan Baez. I feel fortunate to have had the great privildge to hear their angelic voices for most of my aduldt life.

  • Horrible rendition. Sorry, I just can't enjoy her singing it.

  • @davertin. If u r a real christian u shouldn't be even be giving such a remark. You are so prejudice and selfish yet u call urself a christian.

  • No one can ever sing this song like Judi Collins! I remember buying the 45rpm back around 1969 or so....timeless message and true

  • Anything that Judy Collins sings is great especially AMAZING GRACE .

  • What reason is there to believe that Judy Collins is a Christian? If none, as I suspect, then she has no right singing about God's grace, regardless of her talent.

  • @Davertin It is the amazing grace of God that allows us all to be able to sing and enjoy such a beautiful son...even if they are sinners. It is about saving souls bring them all to us, we will take them and show them grace.

  • @Davertin For all shall bend their knee and praise God. That's in the Bible

  • Amen

  • all i can say is absolutely brilliant

  • We played this song at my mother's service this past Sunday. This was played as a request from my mother herself. This is the most beautiful song!

  • stunning voice

  • obviously 5 people still believe in slavery.. :(

  • Amen Beautiful

  • perfect voice like an angle

  • This song was 40 years ago no.10 in the world charts #judy #collins

  • Perfection!

  • omg I use to go to this school

  • Does your religion prevent you from eating properly?

  • oh so beautiful--brings tears to my eyes.

  • What Amazing Grace of our Lord Jesus who saved me from myself and from evil, He saved a wrech like me, I made my own life a disaster, I was lost, I hated my family, I hated every one, I wanted to die, until the day I gave my life to my Lord Jesus. I've been playing this video almost every day lately, and every time I play it I can't hold the tears from coming out of my heart. The Lord Jesus it's been fixing my life little by little, now I can't stop loving my family and loving people,...

  • Прелепо.... Свака част и њој и овим момцима позади. Поздрав...

  • Yes a world filled with wretches... I know I have to do better... :-( Thanks John and Judy

  • Wow, what a beautiful version it gives me hope that maybe just maybe we can come together and be someday at peace in this crazy world!

  • I heard 3 Irish girls sing this in a small Catholic church in Munich in 1990. It was amazing, I've never been so moved by such singing before or since. I've been on YouTube the last hour looking for a comparable version and this is the closest to it I've found. Thanks for posting :O)))

  • I wish I could have heard just the boys choir without Judy Collins.

  • @MsMaureen07 you don't like her color? SHAME on you!

  • I saw her this year and she was quite simply stunning, pure talent and aritistry

  • She has a voice like no other and its gift has sustained her (and us) for five decades. God Bless you Judy for being true to yourself....you won.

  • Reminds me of me!

    Phenomenal

  • nobody and I mean nobody can do do this song like Judy Collins.

  • @ElvisFreak77 and thats a fact jack !!!!!!!!!!

  • @ElvisFreak77 have you got that so right this is hers and only hers

  • Fantastic. Sad to learn the choir folded in 2007.

  • @moominpic

You wonder why. I bet the kids turned into adults and their voices changed.

  • @omfirstutube well, there a lots of choirs that get new members! No, apparently the founder died and there were financial problems.

  • what an amazing voice she has. The choir is superb as well.

  • Judy Collins has made this song her own. She sings it with beauty and amazing grace! Thanks for sharing her performance with us.

  • Those Boys Truely Have A Gift

  • This was nice but nowhere near as good as the rendition the Boys Choir of Harlem did on the soundtrack to the 1988 film, "Glory". That rendition was out of this world.

  • @theimaginarynumber What is there to argue about? Your original comment was disrespectful to a lot of people, offensive to a lot of other people, and completely uncalled for. Sure, the song is about slavery (not 'racism',) but, more significantly, it is about redemption. I think that everyone can get behind that concept.

  • Magnificently beautiful. I, too, teared up.

  • This is a truly beautiful rendition of this song by a truly beautiful American music legend

  • I just wanted to say that since I was old enough to sing (3yrs old) I have sung Judy Collins's songs just like her and her voice is Home to me, All of my life I have felt this way, I secretly sang her music , then by some strange chance I was in a little church (i have never sang in public) but HER Amazing Grace has always been my most favorite song and so I got up,didnt know anyone and sang Amazing Grace just like her & I felt so high and it was like she was with me with her beauty and grace

  • my funaral song

  • I've seen her do this song in concert before, but this version is really nice!

  • Makes me cry every time I hear it, every version, every singer. Was sang at the funerals of both of my parents - the most moving piece of music I have ever heard. Judy's accapella (forgive the spelling) version is my favorite.

  • Unbelievably beautiful. The boys in the choir look so proud -- as well they should -- and the balance between Judy and the back up voices is perfect. And sung a cappella, as it should be.

  • beautiful.....:*)

  • simply gorgeous.

  • This sing has been hijacked by Christians for so long. It's not about Christianity, but racism.

  • Phenomenal. God Bless All our Nation.

  • @kaitlin92684 written by an English man, pow.

  • Sad to say but out of slavery, came something good...this song. I truly hope that one day this great country can put all the racism and hate behind it and truly be one nation.

  • Thank you GOD for your AMAZING GRACE: the gift of life eternal!

  • still stunning after all these years, fabulous.

  • we had to sing this in choir and i love this song

  • *Sniff sniff*

  • There is something about this song. I cry every time, except when I try to sing it. It does really give hope. Judy Collins voice is simply magic in all the songs she's ever done. She' s a blessing to all.

  • this song realy makes you think about whats inportant in life and how good ppl in the usa have it. ppl complain on how they dont get what they want in life...but at least americans get freedom, good food, love, and homes with a roof and bed. ALOT of ppl out there are slaves and are beat to death and are starving and alone, and ALOT of them are kids who dont even understand why they are getting beat! this song is good at showing us how good USA realy is! **godbless**

  • Beautiful.

  • FROM empathicgirl: When I first heart this, Judy's voice brought tears to my eyes. Never have I heard a rendition of this song that sounded so free, so pure. The choir just adds to this song's beauty.

FROM Alejandrino7: I am a Boys Choir of Harlem alumnist and I remember this performance. Where did you get this footage? it brought back many memories.

  • @betahifi and the video is beautifully done as well (my opinion) -something about the color, the angles t which she and the choir are shown

  • FROM TigerYoshiki: I don't know why, but this song gives me a lot of hope for the future. My 3-year old relationship messed up yesterday and I am feeling empty to the max. Somehow I stumbled over Amazing Grace and it helps me to keep going. I'm no religious guy, or whatever, but this song is indeed beautiful. Thanks.

FROM shayedoo92: I like that she doesn't add too many notes and extra trills and all of that. Simplicity is key, and it sounds beautiful. Great job!

  • FROM onceaking: OMG! This is so beautiful. It gives me such peace. Thank you for posting this masterpiece.

FROM geoffrey1610: She was the true queen of this song. I don't care how many people sang this. She will be the queen and no one will ever take her place. Let her live on forever!

  • FROM Jordandurell: To all you people who have commented about Miss Collins' eyes, I can tell you this: I am a big fan of hers and have met her several times and, yes, when you first meet her up close you are startled by her eyes. They are a very light blue and very pretty, as she still is. When you see her it is kind of amazing. She does not look her age, to say the least, or act it. They didn't write the song "Judy Blue Eyes" about nothing!

  • FROM hicksation: Absolutely amazing. The choir sounds like angels. I tear up every time.

FROM johnbu0y: Fantastic. STUNNING! I am amazed at how incredibly clear and powerful Judy's voice still is after so many decades. Truly astonishing.

  • FROM evertonx53: I remember when this was No. 1 in Britain in the Seventies. . . . was a big influence in my life . . . amazing!

FROM: prysmith37: Glorious. the implications of this performance and what all the participants represent in their personal histories reduced me to tears.

  • FROM five0sis: Wow! That's all I can really think of. Not many people are gifted with a beautiful voice like hers . . . and such a beautiful song!

FROM purplecoloredpencil: Judy Collins' voice is beautiful, but the choir of boys is also spectacular . . . when you listen real close, you can hear all the different voice ranges.

  • FROM northtide: The FIRST time I ever heard this song, I was at a place called Khe Sanh, the Republic of Viet Nam, during what has since become known as the seige. We had taken a pretty rough hammering the night before by General Gaip's artillery. I heard Judy Collins singing this song on the Armed Forces radio. Every time I hear it now, the years go away. I am there again.

  • FROM gobipie: Love the ending. I just never get tired of these harmonious, perfectly on key sustains.

FROM wjv4me: Such a hauntingly beautiful song . . . and voice. Great upload. Many thanks for the post.

  • FROM utahnancy: Thank You. I loved Judy all my life, and it was refreshing to see this. Thank God for the internet and YouTube -- memory lane. Something positive in today's world.

FROM frecklzface: While Leann's version is very good, at least with Judy's you can understand the words and it sounds wonderful. I have respect for anyone who can sing like that.
