Good news everyone Mechwarrior 5 has released a trailer, meaning that it hasn't been forgotten and will soon reach completion, though we don't know when yet... be faithful friends and it shall be so
hey, can you tell me where to get, or the name of that song in the Audiosurf lobby? the really mellow one that plays all the way into the game until "Umber Wall" starts?
ah, this reminds me of late nights/ealy mornings on my grandma's computer. the hums and blips of the mech, the computer lady's voice, the crickets outside...fond memories
Nope, it is the mission umber wall, music track 1 datatrack 2. I double checked it against wikipedia and I double checked it against my cd. The track name is correct.
Nope, I believe when I ripped it I used the 3dfx edition which is a 95 version that is nearly identical to DOS except for graphics. I also verified that it has the same tracks as MW2 DOS.
Secondarily there is no track called wardrums on any of the discs, the names of the tracks are all based upon missions that they are encountered. The reason for this is because Activision never released an official soundtrack, so they never gave a listing of the real names.
There are 3 versions of MW2, titanium, classic, and some other one. On the version I have it lists all the track names not the missions they went with.
Really? Cool, if that is true then that is a huge find! Please if ya would not mind, could you scan or type up the list and post it on theforums at mech2org; I am sure everyone there would love to have a real track listing.
As for 3 versions, that is not true, in a general sense it is categorized like that (Enhanced, Vanilla 95, and DOS) but.. there are over 14 different MW2 CD's each insignificantly or significantly different.... This I know because I have been collecting them as a hobby. :)
One small problem, I have 4 MW2 discs, none work on my laptop, and I think they're each a different version. Three of them are silver with MechWarrior 2: Titanium edition, on it. The Fourth is black and has flaming letters saying Mechwarrior 2: 31st Century Combat. I know that the soundtrack list I got came from one of the silver ones. It's gunna be awhile.
I am now in the process of ripping the music from all 3 discs. Apparently the silver discs are all the same version because all the tracks are under the same name. Under the disc with flames on it the tracks are under a totally new set of names. How ever neither have names of the mission they're linked to. On the silver disc this song is called: Wolves on the Prowl but on the flaming one it's called: War Drums.
The problem is the online database, people input the tracks on there, and in MW2's case according to some posts I found 30 min ago the names were made up. On the net there are currently 3 different track name sets that I am aware of. Wikipedia's version being the most popular. There was mention of a track list that was published in a magazine, but no one has it. :( So, honestly I think we are both wrong.
I'm going to try and beat your score, its going to be a challenge though! ;)

I do not believe I have ever heard of this game, and I have played all of the Mechwarrior games released (save MechWarrior 4)

Do you have titanium edition? Cus it rearranges and puts in new soundtracks. The song is War drums and track 1 on the titanium edition.

There might not even be a right answer. I'm uploading a video with 5 tracks from MW2 with all they're names from the black and flaming disc.
