You did an excellent job in portraying the poem, this is my fav poem - cannot believe it was taken out of the AQA anthologies for being too 'violent'? It doesn't promote violence - it shows us what will happen if it is used - you are left as an outsider. Or so I think anyway.

am i right in thinking this is about a case of teen rebelliousness; resorting to crime etc for attention? We're also doing it for a level and we've been told to go and think about the poem before we discuss it

damn exmainers at AQA - bloody taking out a good poem and changing the anthology to purple!!! still, its a good poem but there are others which are far worse....three complaints and they do it to this poem!?!

Absolutely brilliant, You said it was an english assighnment, well it must have been a good grade because my teacher used it to help explain the poem.
