@freestyla101 Pretty much. People who specifically want to surge relocate their air flow meter on the intercooler piping. It's not the air box that triggers it but more the meter, plus they add a pipe on the compressor side to amplify the noise. ALL cars can dose. Most people just don't do it coz it gay
@RXHardstyle as far as i knew, the surge came from the intercooler, amped by the pipe people fix on the inlet port on the turbo, that is what i meant when i reffed to the airbox because most people use a dose pipe instead, hence the sound being noticable without a factory airbox, otherwise the surge would be muffled by the panel filter and the enclosure.
@freestyla101 it gets muffled yes but a surge is still a surge you can hear it it coz its still a distinctive noise that none of the other mechanical parts produce.

not true at all, the f6 will hav a better take off due to more pistons, and ur talkin about a f6 stock car against the vl turbo. any car worked can beat another car, but u also hav to include the factors of gear ratios, differentials and other performance factors so rethink wat u said mate :) think of the cars versing each other stock, then worked wise

2. Some stock VL turbos were dogs..( Factory Low Boost)
3. A friend of mine had a VL turbo (in the late 80s) Boost turned up a couple of notches+ extractors..He was beating 99% of the cars then and believe me these cars were not slow..Like The Ford Gtho ( the fastest 4 door sedan in the world) Quarter mile time 14.4...I like powerful cars, but when I was in my friends Turbo, I was scared to be in it, Gets to 160Kph in no time..

Not some dude. All VL turbos stock where dogs. As your mates VL started its life stock as well. I wasnt talking about modified here, i was talking about stock. The VL turbo only has the reputation it does today because of the fact it was easy to modify and get it going quick in a straight line. And the VL turbo fans have Nissan to thank for that...

@freestyla101 Pretty much. People who specifically want to surge relocate their air flow meter on the intercooler piping. It's not the air box that triggers it but more the meter, plus they add a pipe on the compressor side to amplify the noise. ALL cars can dose. Most people just don't do it coz it gay

@RXHardstyle as far as i knew, the surge came from the intercooler, amped by the pipe people fix on the inlet port on the turbo, that is what i meant when i reffed to the airbox because most people use a dose pipe instead, hence the sound being noticable without a factory airbox, otherwise the surge would be muffled by the panel filter and the enclosure.
