  • A game that was never fully appreciated because most of the people that played it couldn't get through 2% of it! how all the animals are so evil in this world!!

  • how does the checkpoint system work in this, I guess you place a beacon yourself?

  • @Alianger Yeah, there's a memory of 5 previous locations you've set it. If they run out, you end up back in the ship.

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I was never able to complete this OR Ovine.net's remake.

  • I loved playing this when I was a kid, great game and good times

  • Output doesn't work. It used to and now it doesn't. The FPS drops dramatically in the game and the output video plays back as just a small boxed section of the game screen with very low FPS. I'm using WinUAE 2.1. The more recent v2.2 doesn't work under Windows 7 / DX11...? Well it doesn't work for me, need new DX runtimes.

  • @Soopytwist

Please Scoopytwist, come to our IRC Chat - it makes it way easier for us to help you :)

Communicating and explaining you stuff via YT comments will take ages :)

So just goto longplays org and click on chat :)

We will then be able to help you much better that way :)

  • I may just do that. Probably not with the AGA version I just played though because it's pretty anoying. It's zoomed in too far so you see less of the surounding area and slimes stay dormant for a shorter time after feeding them cronium than the ECS version. But as your long play is from the Amiga 500 maybe I SHOULD do the A1200/CD32 version. I need Fraps though, unless there's a free alternative?

  • @Soopytwist

No dont use Fraps- use WinUAEs output - as i said, if you need help, ask in our IRC chat :)

  • @cubex55 I forgot about WinUAE's output, I have actually used it in the past to turn Deluxe Paint IV animations into AVI's (see my channel for a Lemming animation!).

  • @Soopytwist

Ok good, but you also have to use specific settings - so ask in our channel before you start :)

  • @Soopytwist

As it would be a shame if you recorded it in the "wrong" way, as theres a lot of things that can be done wrong when recording via Winuae :)

  • Thanks Greenbean, your walkthrough was essential for me to complete Exile for the fifth time in 4 hours, 48 minutes and 45 seconds. I managed to save Fluffy, Chatter and the colonist...sadly Captain Sprake died, the idiot. Score: 194314

  • @Soopytwist

Why not do an "optimized" longplay of Exile where all the chars are saved? :)

Would be nice to see that :)

If you need help with the recording process or other stuff - come ask in our IRC channel

  • @Soopytwist No problem (Greenbean here). I didn't think to save Chatter or Fluffy - thanks for the advice on the cannon - if I try it again I'll do it the easy way. There are one or two other bits in the walk-through that I did the hard or very lucky way, instead of the correct way. I reckon an optimised version would be nice to see.

  • 3:22:15 you should have used the cannon to blow up the door in the floor, forget the button. Likewise you didn't need the table to put the cannon on to blow up the turret, gain just blow up the door then stand on the button to switch the turret off. If you fire the cannon quick enough the shots explode whatever is underneath. At least is does in AGA version.

  • 2:30:45 always had me stumped after stoning the slimes. In the four times I played Exile (thrice on Amiga 500+ and once on emulated CD32) I couldn't figure out how to turn them into radioactive rocks without the clam sucking them all up. Before, I waited around for ages and the mushroom filter ended up on the other side of the door as if by magic. Now I know how it's done proper, thanks cubex55!

  • Awesome I've been waiting for this one, thanks. OOH OOH OOH UNGH UNGH UNGH

  • This game was so hard I almost thought it couldn't be completed. Fantastic.

  • I think i wasted hours and hours playing this as a kid, then revisiting it on an emulator and i don't think i got even one hours worth in of what you did :O

What a crazy game. good work! pity the ending is just with him flying about xD

  • Wonderful Game.

  • lol at 3:27:50. Really hard... I think I want to setup my Amiga and play a bit on it. :)

  • Top notch.

  • Great to see an awesome Amiga game as longplay ; )

  • @Lemmy556 so many of them
