MY mum's always had border collies and so have we. Our first one was called kelly and I loved her to bits, she died when she was about 14/15 so she was old. She always used to sit in the same place everyday. We got Mick after she died. He's about 13 now and he still acts like a puppy. He's cross with a german shepard as well and his bark is loud. You wouldn't think he could bark that loud. It's just something about collies that you just can't but love them.

Beautiful Dog... I have a shelter rescue border collie... Got her at Christmas. Named her Holly. She was abused and after 2 years of solid love and caring shes done a complete 180. Shes a happy dog and I cant imagine my life without her.
i too had a border collie who passed away she was 14 months old...she had cancer all over in her stomache and two weeks to live she was in my arms when she went the next thing i remember the vet handing me a blue bag...to put my baby in thats was pure pain i felt at that moment.

Beau is absolutely gorgeous. He looks a lot like my best friend. I just lost my border collie, Halley, last year. We got her when i was 5 and I grew up with her for 15 1/2 years. Its like losing another family member. We have another border collie Ruby whos 6 and hasn't been the same since Halley passed. Halley loved to run all over our 300 acres and chase geese and deer, bring in the newspaper every morning, and play kickball. RIP Halley Dec. 14th 1994-July 3rd 2009
I feel for you, I have a collie and we're facing similar stuff with a much older dog but as much as this stuff hurts, you get so much more from having a dog its rarely an unfair bargain but 4 years is so young.
Take some solice in that fact that you obviously doted on him and his fate was written down by things you didn't choose. You were the best to give him the best he could have from the time he had, grief subsides in time ad you'll feel happy about the kind of life you provided for him.
You can form a bond with any species of dog, but a border collie is something special, they are just so in tune to your feelings, whenever I feel upset my collie Cassie can tell and she comes up to me and puts her paw on my knee, so cute.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FELLA! One of the handsomest Border Collies I have seen! He reminds my husband and I of our Lofty. Except he is all cream with tan across his eyes and ears. Very unusual... We both got choked up watching :( ... So sorry for your loss... I wish that we never had to loose them... We have lost so many of our own... They are so precious and dear... so greatly missed. Rainbow Bridge always chokes me up... I hope that we will be able to visit them all one day.

I feel so sorry about your dog. I had four border collies myself before but my dad sold them and I still do miss them. It hurts a lot when they're away from you because I loved them more than my family or any human and still do now. It's very heart breaking and there is no-one who can replace them, but they'll always be in my heart :'(

i have1called jess she is5burt her from a rescue home and it had sad puppy eyes all of the dogs were lined in serate cages i wish i could have them all but her story was so sad her owner hada dog and the dog had puppies and the owner couldnt look after her so she dumped the them in a box on side of a motoway but luckly i rescued her and we have had the best life together she is like my baby my beautiful girl i dont no if you felt the same way xxx

these dogs are always special, unfortunately ever since we moved from CA to west TX, he's been scared of loud explosions (thanks to the intense storms in the south) so when we moved to oregon and hunters would be in the distance he would head out on the farm to find one of us to hide to. he sometimes was gone for a day or so since the property was a couple miles away... those dogs are so much like people its crazy. they have to have social contact!

i cried for 2 months when i lost shay he was 14..i have a new one cody he is awesome..they are so hard to give up it was like i lost a child ..been 5 years and it still hurts...get another one when you are ready because you already know the breed u might save ones life ..most ppl who get them cant handle them

Thank you. Yes, he started showing in beginning of 2003 and was ranked #5 by June that year. Then I found out shortly after he had cancer :(
