Good but I think you stretched it a bit--becomes repititive--same--same--a little more dynamics--more "snot"--just an ear observation from a sometimes slide player.
please please god let me beable to play this that good ...someday...im 2weeks in and wow .....you give me the drive..thats what i want to do ....you make that six string sing...i envy you and want to emulate u some day....long time commin though...i can do it...just not now...god your good
OutSTANDING ... You make it look SO down-easy smooth, sassy and laid-back. What's not to love? I'd 2nd (7th?), how amazingly sensual that slide action is, every note a wake-up call to authenticity. The crisp, full-throated depth of your sound is like a long, slow full-mouth kiss, a long sip of aged bourbon, and an unfiltered Virginia, Burley & Turkish-blend cigarette puff -- I'm between awed, delighted and thrilled -- What a good bad-ass blues tune played with grace and passion makes me feel.
Wow. Monster heart! Will you please share how you get your tone equipment wise? From your pickups, to any pedals to the amp and speaker. You've definately nailed my Holy Grail! I'm really going to enjoy listening and watching your videos. Thank you for making them available to us!
I like your backings especially on this, def want to download one from that website. Where is the backing coming from though? if its your amp how do you get it to run through there?
you are amazing. is that a custom guitar btw? i see no mark from fender and you have a unique sound. i wold like to buy ur instruction book im looking into your website as we speak, two thumbs up!
@1richards ... No, not really. I took the 'baboon's ass pink' paint off it just after I bought it (second hand) in 1972, brought it back to wood. It's gotten darker over the years.
@planetalk I love people who aren't afraid to do whatever they want to their guitar. Even if someone else owns it down the road it will always be YOURS for that.
it could be my eyes but this guitar doesn't look like a normal 6 string. the strings seems really really thick and widely spaced? what guitar is this? love the video
@oioisexymlaoy ... it's a normal (old) Strat, but you're right: the strings are very heavy. 016 - 018 - 024 (wound) - 034 - 044 - 054. I like 'em like that for slide.
Another great tune with your great style & arrangement. Do you think I could get that good of a sound out of my mint '63 Fender Jaguar? I use the dropped D tuning on my Taylor DDSM for fingerstyle. You have taken it to another level. FIVE STARS
How do you tune the guitar with dropped down tuning or what's do you do to tune the d string down to what note? I not sure I understand ,,,,can some one some me the tuning?
Well, Kirk, I feel inspired at nearly 7 decades to dig way down deep and learn that slide style of yours. I could say a lot, but nothing better than "Thank you." Thanks for all the work over all the years that you have put into learning, mastering, teaching, and inspiring others to play guitar.
Hi.....there's something I can't figure out.......in other words, you play in Dropped D tuning, but the track is in G ?.....I just downloaded the three Backing Tracks.........I only discovered you just recently...thnx for sharing your great talent with us......
@marcel12309 Dropped D (DADGBe) is closer to open G (DGDGBd) than it is to open D (DADF#Ad). I jam with a slide to this track all the time in standard (EADGBe). It's just a matter of what you're comfortable with.
A beautiful played master class on slide Kirk. Such a throaty, sexy tone you've got with the phrasing and slide work, one would swear you've come back from the crossroads with a signed contract. Simply amazing. Respect,. ratiugsj

Especially the way you make use of your fingers in combination with the slide.
I'm tipping they are heavy gauge strings?
