If you want to know how to do character work, call your nearest children's hospital and talk to an activity director of some sort, describe what work that you would be doing. I'm sure they would LOVE to have a character come in and cheer up the children. May I ask, what character/characters you have in mind?

for them and eventually word got to

Make-A-Wish about what I do. :):). Well,

definitely volunteer, it's soooo worth it!
