I'm looking for a kit just like this with a price range of about 800 dollars or so, i already have a throne and kick pedal, so would this fit, i don't have cymbols or stands, or should i coninue my search?
Nice! You can't go wrong with any of the Gretsch Catalina models. I play a Catalina Club Jazz kit. It sounds very good for a kit that costs under $700.
hey, your kit is really nice. I wouldn't mind getting a gretsch catalina ash in this finish. But i would probably just have my zbt hats and ride but with a zxt 16 crash and a zbt 8 splash. < zildjian.
First time I used one and yes, strong and work well, you can get them in longer lengths to add bigger cymbals, I don't think they would work with flimsy hardware though, to much weight.
Looks wonderful, i just got a Mapex QR with hardware but now Ive seen this which is the same price without hardware. What is the sound like???? Ive never played with a Gretsch?? Its my first kit too
@ConnecticutsBest Thanks, I had a chance to play at sam ash before buying, I was shocked at how good these sounded, the ash wood is bold, I am going to ad the 16 inch floor tom to complete the shells. I was looking to buy a pearl sessions before stumbling across this.
@ConnecticutsBest I used to have a Mapex QR as well, but then I went to a the music section at Best Buy of all places and they had a Gretsch with an amazing set up, and you could tell it had been used but it still sounded amazing even though it wasn't tuned the way it should be. So then I saved up a lot of money sold my Mapex bought a Gretsch and haven't looked back since, but that's just my opinion.
This is a really good video. Brandon and I just watched it. Love the part where you put "More Cowbell please" We were cracking up laughing! We look forward too seeing more! We love you!!! Bye daddy!
please post a video of you playing the kit
