They are coming to vancouver and the tickets are $150, holy shit, they are awesome, I love their music but can't afford that kinda money... damn you capitalism!!!
I never was the biggest Fleetwood Mac fan, I like a lot of their stuff, just not a huge fan. But anyone with an ear for music can tell you that Lindsay Buckingham is a genius. He throws down on this song.
i have watched every video from this concert that i can find, the thing is this has anybody noticed Stevie walks around with that tambourine the whole concert but we never hear it.
i heard this song the first time i tripped on lsd and i fell in love with it!!! The guitar playing in this is classic. THIS is music not this bullshit they try to pass off today which is nothing but jangled clutter!!! Long live true rock n roll!!!!
clearly an example of greatness..most youth blows and retain garbage based on pure pressure...via patience ..this performance solidifies why you should listen to peers!
I thought this one had the more emotion, but I can see where one could think that, it was a lot slower and spooky. I think that Stevie's harmonizing in it gives it some major emotion. It's really a matter of opinion, I like the one from Boston, I'd prefer this one though. LINDSEY IS GOD!
This is a great version of this song. In some parts it's like he's playing a "double lead". If you have The Chain Box set (25 years of Fleetwood Mac),,,that has a great version of this song as well. Also, if you don't have your computer hooked up to your stereo,,,this is a good reason to.
although lindsey buckingham is my favorite guitarist EVER..i do have to say that appreciate the sond of the drums in this song....mic fleetwood is favorite drummer.
... and i bet you'd go to a buddy rich drum solo and say his bassist was great too ... this was "lindsey's time" ... and john deacon was a better bassist.
Close your eyes, lean back and feel how that guitar solo flows into your body!! This is the greatest solo ever! Thank God that he made Lindsey Buckingham!!
Raw vocal angst, growling, soaring, ringing, achingly precise guitar work, a relentlessly driving beat... awesome... bombastic. . . epic... what superlative WOULDN'T fit here? I became a born-again Buckingham fan the day I saw this on DVD. Every few years, a performance comes along to remind you of the power and beauty that has yet to be wrung from music, and the world seems a little more...mysterious, and full of wonder again, for a little while.
(applause) very well said....I agree! I get chills...I mean, near tears for the performance. I think he has the title for (one of) the best guitarist in the world sewn up.
I love this song, this is one of the bands that sticks with you, I did alot of learning on how to play the guitar in the '70s, please check out my video's and let me know what u think. thanks, garry bryant
This is one of the best songs ever. The fact that it live and sounds perfect says how good they and Lindsay are. His voice cuts right into you, it's haunting.
I've seen this live. I screamed, and I cried. There is so much emotion involved. And I can think of very few, possibly none, other songs that come any where near having this much heart and raw emotion in it. I bow to Lindsey and the musical genius that he is.
No, I wasn't at THIS show. I've seen him four other times in other shows; two of those solo. I love the Mac, but I love seeing him solo because then all of the focus is on this one brilliant genius of a man! :-)
This is the best guitar solo ive ever seen its enough to give you goosebumps and leave you sitting there with your mouth open going damn that was awesome and thats not including the song which is awesome as well truly a classic piece of work
Fleetwood Mac ! Grosse Künstler .... Grosse Musik .... Diese Gruppe hat ihr eigene Magie unverwechselbar und unerreichbar... Musik der Superlative ........!!!!!
Not to mention, John McVies great bass lines. You know what? Stevies great backing harmonies and Christines part...equally impressive...Fleetwood mac is just so damn special. Now, if you'll excuse me, guess I'll go check to see if the website is up yet...
I've always loved this but just recently really heard his words,I can relate to every heartbreaking word...I've been alone all the years so many ways to count the tears.I never change,I never will.I'm so afraid of the way I feel.Days when the rain and the sun are gone.Black as night agony's torn at my heart too long.So afraid, slip and fall and I die.I been alone always down no one cared to stay around.I never change,I never will I'm so afraid of the way I feel! Black as night! I cry every time.
I first heard this song in the late 1970's. I was a young guy and all the stuff that went on back then. I don't know or care if Linday Buckingham is the greatest guitar player in the world - and it's dosen't matter to me at all. What matters is the way his playing makes me feel and the real emotion he creates with his playing. Every note he plays in the song is a hammer blow to my heart as he takes me back to the raw edge emotions of my youth. Not to many guitar players can still do that for me.
As MUSICIANS, I think that Fleetwood Mac are some of the most underrated of all time. I think that they get overshadowed by Stevie Nicks and her dresses.
I know that everyone knows who they are as a BAND and by their names! They are one of the most famous bands ever. I am saying that they are underrated as MUSICIANS. Very seldom when people have long talks about great guitar players, great keyboard players, great bass players, and great drummers, do they mention Lindsay, Christine, John, and Mick respectively.
Agreed, although I wouldn't say they are overshadowed by Stevie and her dresses, lol. But I do think they are underrated in that they don't get mentioned among the great rock/pop groups. They sort of just get pushed into "they were pop" and when talked about, alot of the times, its about their issues over the years
lindsey buckingham never evr got the recognition he deserved. His solo work was sometimes hard to follow but what he did with fleetwood mac was brilliant.
So I can't honestly find a better version of this song. Don't get me wrong, every time they play it it's amazing....but this version is by far the best!
This is intense and immensly beautiful. The drums are enough to make me wet myself and their chemistry together has never changed. I respect the fact that they were adult enough to pull this one off.Not like other bands. They are still beautiful together and still kick major ASS. My first concert was rumors in detroit michigan when I got introduced to my first bagel and cream cheese bar outside. But little did I know what was in store for me.Been an addict to fleetwood ever since. And I gypsy.
I'm still in love with stevie nicks and i wish i have a woman like her to marry, and lindsay must take care of her because she is a gift, and she must take care of him coz he is a legend, and the band is unbelievable, keep rockin' fleet.
If you haven't done so already, play the video of this song as FM did it at Rosebud in 1976 - also on Youtube. The quality of the video isn't very good but the passion of Buckingham and Fleetwood really comes through.
Love the band, love the song, love the man. He is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Personally I prefer Steve Lukather but that's only because I've listened to him for longer. Since I was a child in fact. I think there equally good but one thing I've noticed. Lindsay play electric with his fingers. You don't see a lot of people do that with electric, usually people use picks. Steve Lukather may be my favourite but Lindsay has influenced my own playing a lot more. You rock Lindsay!
I just sat and read all of the comments about this truly heart stopping performance and I think benjitara here says it all best - I do really feel as if the world could stop turning when I hear this song. I have loved it since the first time I ever heard it and years later it stills makes my hair stand on end and my heart thump. EVERY SINGLE THING IS PERFECT. Listen to this song LOUD...as loud as the speakers will go (my Cerwin Vegas do it justice!)....in a dark room...alone. LONG LIVE LINDSEY.
I'm a die-hard Jimmy Page fan and Lindsey blows me away with this performance. Had goosebumps since the first time I saw/heard this. That was 15 yrs ago!
Ive heard many say Lindsey is NOT a pretty good guitarist... Aaah cmon give me a break! This solo is just amazing.. look (and listen! lol)how it is is build... he works slowly down the arm giving it really soul, nerve and most of all a fabulous presence... No its not a fast solo, but who cares when theres so much talent in it? Theres for sure many damn fast guitarists around, but i dont think many of them can deliver a solo of this quality...
I can finally say that I've properly learned this guitar solo and let me tell you, it is a creation of true genius ! I absolutely love playing this, it's got such a great feeling to it. Now, if only I could learn to play it with my fingers instead of a pick, like the master himself...
Very good song...I've heard the studio version and I've heard a few live versions too. I would have LOVED to have seen Jimi Hendrix play it live...Oh Well...(No pun intended!...;-))...I can dream on!
Far and away this is the Mac's "darkest" song but it's also the one probably the most emotion in it. Lindsey guitar, as always, defies description and once again John and Mick show they are one of the best rhythm sections in rock and roll history.
Like Lindsey, Mick is very underrated as a drummer. He is never flashy but he is rock solid and one of the most innovative drummers in rock and roll. I have been playind drums since 1970 and I am still in awe of him. And as rock bassists go, in my opinion at least, John McVie is the gold standard.

Undoubtedly, one of Fleetwood Mac's best songs and as for Lindsay's guitar solo - simply the best. I have the DVD and play it often.

Haha! Mick is an insane drummer! He's so great!!!
Lindsay is such an amazing singer and guitarist! Long live Fleetwood Mac

One of the most under-rated guitarists ever. Drums and Bass read each other like they are Twins.

Great song ,fantastic gitarsolo, but also the bass and the drum are awesome

This album came out when I was 7 years old, and today at 17 years old, I STILL listen to this and it sounds so dang awesome, especially near the end.

Epiphones arn't bad guitars. I own two of them. One is a Epiphone Les Paul, and the other is a Dot.

Not bad, but Live at Rosebud ('76) is much more raw.
