  • I too... Am completely in love with the violinist :D Amazing beautiful music -3

  • absolutely breath taking! what a beautiful rendition.

  • =_=;...What does it matter what instrument is "cooler" or rarer?

In my opinion, I adore the original version. But this is something different and it's absolutely gorgeous. I have to say that the instruments were played beautifully. The violinist, in particular, really captured my heart. * u*

  • What the hell?! Who presses the dislike button?! Do people just go around youtube and say oh I'm going to dislike this video? ARGH! This video is awsome and nobody should say otherwise!

  • @NABARIaddiction I think some people just feel like the world needs to be balanced so they go around being the evil people and dislike videos that are otherwise awesome. either that or they are big fans of shitty music like Korn....

  • LOL who pressed the FF button?

  • this is like an orgy of beautiful sounds playing in my ears.

  • I was there. It was pretty awesome.

  • two thumbs up ;)

  • The pianist is fast OMG~

  • I really loved this, but I have to agree with hayapapaya on the fact that the piano is too dominant. I mean, it was nice to hear that part come thorugh, but that MELODY is carried by the violins. Still though, Gorgeous. I think I love the violinist too XD

  • @xXbakacoconutXx girl, he's mine! XD

  • I'm in love with the violinist.

  • I don't like this arrangement w/ piano =s... the piano using the pedal in the beginning has a strange reverb when the hammers hit the strings, and when it first picks up tempo, the arrangement w/ the piano sounds very awkward.

    overall in the song:

2nd violins are too soft, =s Piano too strong

    however end song sounds ok.

I prefer the original guitar arrangement overall.

  • woooow *_*

  • Why did they replace the guitar with a piano?

  • pianos are cooler and guitars are rarely cool

  • i beg to differ

their version of the song just calls for a piano and not guitar.

how dare u call a guitar "rarely cool"

  • theyre rarely cool because everyone and their uncle plays one, and not enough people explore the possibilities of playing something else. so thus, there are many crappy and uncool guitarists. and about half of said crappy guitarists, think that by striking continuous power chords, that they sound good, well, to be honest, it doesnt.

  • i think u just don't listen to enough guitar prominent songs/artists.

just because alot of people play guitar doesn't mean that it's "uncool". That doesn't say anything about the instrument. I agree that there's alot of shitty guitarists out there, but there's alot of good players out there too. You have no idea what you are saying. You're only looking at the crappy guitar players and not even considering those who actually know how to play the instrument. Stop looking at ONLY the flaws.

  • mostly agree! =)

  • Gods! the violin was so beautiful, however, IMHO the piano kinda ruined it. I loved the drumbeat on the original composition better. Oh well... still very lovely though

  • LOL! What a ridiculous comment!

"Chrono Cross" has the BEST story, gameplay, design, battle system and music of all games ever released for the PSX.

  • I agree!

That was such a fun game!

I never get tired of playing it!

  • @Zeruju So that makes it the best game of the PSX; that's what you say if I understand this correctly.

  • @Shadowfax1475 Yes! :-p

  • Comment removed

  • @Zeruju i'd beg to differ lol

  • @PrincessGarnetXVI

Me too.. Chrono Cross was great.. but not even close to Final Fantasy =)

  • Man... This is so beautiful!

    Yasunori is amazing

  • Racist fuck

  • i miss this game...sniffle sniffle* (tear)....

  • there's one white guy

  • its fast forwarded .. cant u see? ...

  • Dang, wow. I am amazed. The piano player is just insane. *Jealous*

  • seriously the more I watch them the more it seems like they are racing to finish each set. I really enjoy them, but go watch the Play! symphony one or similar (or even just the opening movie) and its not quite as rushed.

  • Lol play? you mean that American gaming orchestra that charged a rip off price of $90 a ticket and spammed the walls with screens to take the attention off their less-than-emotiopnally-moving performance?

  • Yes, I do mean them.

Whatever their rip off of a ticket might be, it doesn't change that their performance is better than Emminence's. For such an awesome song (and I do agree they play with more emotion) they still rush it. You can argue anything you want but that fact remains. Play's full size orchestra brings out a much greater sounding version, and while I can understand not having the space to do that, rushing it is still rushing it on Emminence's part.

  • lol, what you see here is an "essemble". This means they rearranged the music. That means a different Tempo.

Notice- No drums, thus the Pianist played the beat.

I've seen eminence's full orchestra playing the full chrono cross too, live.

    And I can safely say.

    Emience>Play.

  • Freakin Amazing!!!

  • love this song soo much.

  • Encore! Encore!

  • if anyone could explain to me EXACTLY what is Otaku it would be appreciated:) because i only have a vague idea. i just know this is where Otacon comes from haha

  • in america, it means a hardcore anime fan. in japan, it is offensive and means someone who is obsessive or fanatical (in the bad way)

  • It doesn't really have a negative meaning, Otaku actually means resident, it only means obsessive or fanatical by the context of what you are saying.

  • "it only means obsessive or fanatical by the context of what you are saying. "

i think thats quite obvious. it's also a polite pronoun for "you", however, if used as to call someone otaku for liking something alot, it obviously has a negative connotation. in america, it doesnt because weve taken it on to mean an anime fan, however there it just means someone who's obsessed with anything in general. so yes. it oviously means other things in context.

  • I handed my band director at school all the orchestra parts for this, and I talked him into letting us do it for concert band.

  • he needed to be persuated??

    that #$%$*!!!!! *censored curses*

  • Agree that the climax was strange... But Yasunori probably had a larger orchestra to make it sound better

  • yeah i agree, if only they have more instruments like a guitar or Bass (not electric)

but still sound cool though, really love the string instruments

  • that piano is rocking

  • that was beautiful! =D

  • I didnt like the climax part. the whole piano just sounded wrong. have you guys heard of the actual Scar of Time, that was so much cooler. this sounded totally different.maybe the lack of instruments?

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!! This is first song i heard in 2008 ;D

  • awesome !

  • pure awesomness...

    chrono cross forever...!!!

    -LokiHeart

  • well i have to say its the sound recording from real time to video its not the playing, but the mic.

  • I don really agree..

    the piano matched juz nice..

the "middle" part is suppose to be a climax of Chrono Cross feel, the pianist brought the Scars left by Time a strong feel, well at least i felt that's the counterpoint.. love it ^^

but i prefer if the performance include Flute melody~arhh... wonderful..as if the CG plays together with the music...it's perfect

  • Excellent interpretation, this ritm gives a essence like a variation of the theme for a final moment in the game (like the DMC Vergil´s 2nd theme).

  • Awesome i wish i could find sheet music for this!

  • my god that's fuckin sweet.

    they're amazing!

  • HOLY PENIS THAT WAS AWESOME.

  • Hahahaha the best comment ever

  • ...this is insane ^_^..love this song soo much.

  • I remember when they played this.. we were all speechless :D

  • wow i liked this music when i played chrono cross.. and ya i noticed the pianest as well, i mean who wouldnt !! i wish i can play that fast one day :p

  • Oh... my god.. what?

  • this is arrangement is just one word WOW

  • Anyone have the sheets for the piano arrangement?

    Please if anyone has it.

  • oh geez! that was pretty impressive, specially the piano o.O!

  • i also had a jammed disc 2 too!! shoot... i was enjoying it halfway though.. hrrrgh

  • the pianist is amazing lol

  • Serge T_____T

Now i regret that stupid Disc 2 jammed halfway 3 years ago.

  • missing the percussion...but holy *beep*...what an arrangement with the piano!

  • holy shit

  • they should have played percussion too, but still great covering up the percussion part with multiple fast violin. Awesome

  • You mean the Viola part XD That or the Piano part XD I could probably get the violin part down too (probably easier than the piano)

  • i should've been there...... T________T

  • Very good combination of violin and piano!})

  • I love Emminence, but found this slightly disappointing. What makes "Time Scar" have so much impact is the percussion as well as the strings - the percussion is sorely missed in this rendition. It's good though.

  • Simply the best sequel ever, trigger & cross.

  • trigger yes,

but, I did not like cross

  • AWESOMENESS I HAVE A NEW GOAL :D TO PLAY THIS SONG! :P Me = Violist (strings ROCK)

  • good luck.

  • OMG Chrono Cross *sniff, sniff* So beautiful!!!

  • The piano part gets me every time....

  • me,too

  • amazing, simply amazing. but why not the whole orchrestra at this otakon event? i guess it must have been a money issue

  • Well, they did say that "this is all we could fit on the back of a golden chocobo", so it's probably at least partially that. Also, this was their USA debut... I felt honored to BE there!

  • Eminence is Fantastic *.*

  • fantastic!

  • that is one of the most amazing and awasome arrrangements!!! these people are just to deam good!!

  • whoaa... piano arrangement for this song is phenomenal

  • awesome song and..... HIROAKI <3

  • :D cool multi cameras

  • I really like this song. :) Love the violins the most. <3

  • I am in love with this arrangement - EASILY one of the top five pieces played at Otakon! I had thought the concert was wonderful. Then Mario was played, making it better... then Time's Scar. Double encore of two fantastic pieces full of energy and fun - this made my day two weeks ago, and I'd do almost anything to relive that concert.

  • beautiful

    good work boys!

    Conglaturations!

  • who was on piano? was it Ayako Ishikawa? I know she plays the violin but she also plays piano

  • No, not Ayako... Kumiko Ito was on piano, and she was FABULOUS, especially during her solo rendition of Mitsuda's "Pain" from Xenosaga I.

  • OTACON!!!!

  • That's awesome...so relaxing DX

  • OMG! lovely...

  • OMFG! I PASSED RIGHT BY OTAKON! why didn't i find out about this earlier! *sniff*

  • Love chrono cross!

    Love that song!

  • Pretty rad, although the piano seemed sort of out of place.

  • Chrono cross is my favorite RPG ever. This song is excellent.

  • my friend roxas1234 missed it

  • I never get tired of hearig this song :D, so nice and it brings back some cool memories as well :).

They did pretty well too, be sure to thank Tomoyo for this LL *shifty eyes* ;)

  • Time's Scar is my favorite song from Chrono Cross.. which is why I posted this, because it's such a great song.

Makes me feel like playing the game again.. except I lost the cds in my house.. somewhere.

  • pretty nice, i like it
