  • hello and salam i love your rings.. how much are those.. i will buy one of them if i can afford them.. THANKS

  • great hobby, I hope you do well. Beautiful rings and recycled too! would love to see wideo of the process. I would be happy to exchange some nice old coins if you could make me a ring. How do you size them?

  • @goloka108 I am trying to do well with sales. More would be great. I am in financial troubles along with most other state kin. I need to post a new video showing rings that I have made more currently. To show how much better they are. Just been busy looking for work. I can make you a ring yes. I size them as I make them. And I have started an Ebook on the process. I am a novice jeweler at best. But these are all made in a very neat traditional way. Shoot me an email.

  • dude that coin was worth alot

  • @MAJMAJESTIC I know. But not as much as the ring sold for.

  • i work overnight, and i can make 1-2 a week, using US quarters, 1/2 dollar takes about 2 weeks, i use the old tapping spoon style, drill out and file it down. takes forever but its something to do

  • Cool rings. Can you show us how you actually make one? I love the Silver coins turned into rings. The camera sucks. I hope you kept the receipt. I would like to make these coins in Germany and need some tips. I could operate maybe a side business. Just went from full-time to part-time because I was working for Kim-Jon-Tetris (inside joke). This could help me a lot.

  • @msungs I can. And I will be helping people to make them yes. However, I will be doing it on my google+ page. My goal is to get a ring in as many countries as possible. You can see a lot more of my work on my google page. Look up O'Shea Coin Rings. I didn't keep the receipt for the camera no. But, I have several, so I can use those. I NEED to sell the camera this was shot with. But. I would feel like a used car salesmen.

  • Cool, you are a metal craftsman dude!

  • Talk less show more, Im running out of time if they sell its a winner, thats the criteria

    quality work

  • @cori800888 Working on it. Just VERY busy, and I don't have internet at home. So I have to go use free internet. I have how to videos made. And I will share them. Look me up on google+ O'Shea Coin Rings thats where I will teach.

  • oooooh show us how you did it! Great job!

  • VERY cool rings. LIKED!

  • cool! i'm making a ring myself. but a simpler type. it looks plain on the outside but only shows part of the coin on the inside. anyway, on the newfoundland coin... are you making rings out of valuable coins?? just wondering... o_O i mean, of course silver coins are valuable. but if someone makes a ring out of a coin that would be worth much more left as a coin... O_o just wondering. and i also like how you're open and not trying to keep those "trade secrets" or whatever. i think it's just a mat

  • @phr4nk3rd00d13 ter of the fact that since the nature of the work involved requires skills and personal characteristics that, simply put, not all people have, or will ever attain, the process can remain as clear and plain as day since many people just won't be able to make them due to lack of patience, crafting skills, etc... and those people that want them will buy them, keeping people like you in business! anyway, the concept is really cool and i'm excited to see how my final product will be.

  • @phr4nk3rd00d13 Yeah, the process can be as simple as a mandrel and a mallet. IF you have the patience sure. But, there is quite a lot of other work that goes into it. And, I am sure you will figure that out as you progress. If you need help. Just email me.

  • @IdigHistoryVideo i wasn't able to send my email because of the settings but i was just going to ask how i should deal with a warped coin... i am very anti-waste, so i'm not willing to just throw it out... not to mention the fact that then it'll have been a total waste of time. :| so what should i do? do you have any ideas or anything? i think warping only occurs when you hit too hard, so i'll have to work on that when i get more into my second coin that i started earlier...

  • @phr4nk3rd00d13 The warping, or warble is fixable yes. There is a few ways to correct it. But first you wanna see how you got there. Was the hole not centered? Or did you just hammer it to strong in one area? Anyway. A steel block with leather will work. Always use leather to keep the details. Or if you have a mandrel and just a mallet. Beating it downwards, not flat. Hit the warped areas downward. If you do that correctly, the warp should balance out. I THINK I have a video on how to fix that.

  • Very good work. Congratulations. I make those kind of rings too here in Rio de Janeiro. My question is: how do you do that contrasting between the letters that are clear and the dark background on your rings?

    Hugs from Brazil

  • i love them! i just started making them!

  • hey i like your work ive been making coin rings for a few monthes now. one thing about your vid. is that u ramble a lil bit haha so if you do a vid thats made to sel them i thing you should work on that. other then that i think ur doin good on your rings. good luck!

  • @deadmanwalkin67 Haha. Yeah, I do ramble. I always feel weird talking to a camera by myself. And the funny thing is. I am aware I am rambling, but DON'T stop. ha. But anyway. Thanks for your kind comment. I'd like to see your work. Should email me.

  • nice rings excellent work. please check your channel for comment ive posted thanks john

  • They are great silver rings :) Waring rings with a high silver content 24/7 is also healthy as the body can absorb anon-partilces of silver without entering the stomach. I have silver rings on both hands & when washing your hands with soap & water silver rings add a little anti-backtrack aspect. Your rings would look great on both men & women & it would be great to see more men wearing silver rings. All the best with your great work :)

  • Awesome! Thanks for sharing :)

  • wow, the rings look amazing! please teel me how to do something like that. its really awesome how you did tht.

  • good job. Im going to start doing this I just bought a ring size mandrel as soon as that arives ill be making my own.

  • I love these rings, I really want to know how you do this or what the proceedure is to make one. I think I have a pretty good idea but now sure. I will be attempting to make one this week. Thanks for your help in advance! You do great work!

  • @sheppard686 Thanks! The idea you have on how to make them, is probably correct. Its just a matter of fine tuning it. Developing a method. I have since developed a method, that I know will work for any beginner. And I am working on getting the how to video and ebook made. I'd like to see the ring you make. And if you have any questions or need help. You can email me. And i'd be happy to help.

  • How long does it take you to hammer these things?

  • @stuttgurth It really depends on the quality of work you do. And the tools you use. For me personally. I can finish a ring in a day. IF I am working fast. Though I typically like to spend about three days from coin to ring. Make sure its perfect. This takes a lot of patience. I will be teaching online classes on how to do this at coinrings (dot) co

  • Lol i just started majing these too

  • BTW I think they look GREAT!

  • OHHHHH!!!! Finally someone offering how to make a ring coin that actually has the designs on the outside! PLEASE do a tutorial. I can almost guarantee you'll be the first to show how to make it this way. Thanks.

  • @bloog510 I JUST got the website up. Its not finished yet. But, I will have the tutorial available there. The link to the site is in video description.

  • Hey Ryan,

My partner and I have been following all your videos, I'm a detector and she is a jeweller, I showed her this video this morning and she loved some of the rings you made. Can you please make a video of the process involved in hammering out a coin into a ring.

    Cheers

  • @utilitymeekrat Yes, I am working on it as I write this. I will be posting it on my coin rings website. The link is in the description. The site is not done yet. But, the next step is posting the tutorial.

  • Wow Ryan, these are really nice! I wear the one my son Aaron made me all the time. I was just excited it had my birthdate, but these are super.

  • @panno16 Im working on it Kathleen. They could be better. I just made another ring. I'll send you a picture of it. Thanks btw. was yours the old fashioned coin ring that is "spoon tapped"? Those are pretty hard actually. They take a lot of patience.

  • Love the rings and would love to know how to make them.

  • Good work Ryan, those are awesome!

  • @jcooking Thanks my friend.

  • These look like Wonderful rings! I have been thinking of doing this for a long time now. Your right, there is little to No info out there. I would Pay you to teach me how to do this!!! Only one question-does One End of the ring always Have to look larger than the other? Can they be made Equal? Great Rings! Do you drill the centers or use a disc cutter? Figuring size, how is That done? I am Subbing know. Like I said, I will Pay you to teach me. Joel..

  • Cool looking rings! Very marketable i would imagine. You can sell about anything.I saw where people pay to have wooden raised garden beds. Pre drilled, boards cut,and L brackets provided. And they pay shipping. All it is,is some regular boards screwed together! Imagine how much it costs to ship!Rings a lot less would want to try.And you could do whatever country they wanted!

  • Yes, I would also like to see how you make them.

  • @AgentThis99 Thanks a lot. I have only seen the one video of the rings for sale. Nothing on how to make them. I had a lot of fun bruising my hands figuring it out.

  • there cool i was going to try making one myself :) very nice bottle :) i live in the same kinda town lots of detectorist have only found 2 silvers this year so far but still fun getting out to hunt we just have to research more spots to hunt :) your yard looks like it would be a gold mine of finds :) nice job on the rings maybe show the inside when you put them up for sale :) great video :) HH!

  • @MichaelSwan66 Should give it a try. I will make a video when I get a chance on how to make them. There are some tricky parts to it. The coloring, or shading to bring out the coins features is a trick I learned from making Hobo Nickels. its called "gun blue". And very fine sand paper. As for our towns full of detectorists. It makes it a little hard. I hunt easements a lot. Its what has provided me the most finds. But I still have a lot to learn. I have only been at it just over a year now.

  • @IdigHistoryVideo Oh, and yes. I show all of the ring when I put them up. the odd thing is, they actually look the best when you see someone wearing them. They really stand out.

  • Great rings! Would love to see how you made them. I live near a beach here in NY and want to metal detect after a busy weekend. Any suggestions for a decent detector for fairly cheap ($100-$200)?

  • @BookofNick Yeah nick. I would look at a Garret Ace 250. I recommend it because its a good unit for the price. Very easy to use, pick up & go machine. Then I typically suggest if you DO like the hobby. To upgrade to a high end machine. For that. I really LOVE the Minelab Explorer II & E-Trac. These machines get deep. And are monsters when it comes to finding old silver coins. Whites and Fisher are also good companies. As for the rings. I'll make a video how I do it. Its a bit tricky. But doable.
