Other videos appeal for help and one seems like entertainment. This does NOT shine a bad light upon UERM nor the people of the Philippines (I am married to one actually). It simply has inappropriate laughter of someone who does not understand the seriousness of the situation, the danger of death & the significant damage to peoples property. The same video has already been posted without the audio track. In my opinion, it seems the best thing that could happen here is that this video is removed.

My boss's family owns one of those cars, and he was supposed to go to Manila to visit a relative who's a patient there. But he had to cancel because of the rains.
if you listen closely you'll know that not all of the girls are laughing. You can clearly hear the anguish, the fear, the concern in the voices of some of them. So don't rush to judgement and condemn all of us. For your information a lot of students helped in the relief efforts that the school carried out during and after the storm.

even if they have a rope, nobody can throw that far from bldg a to bldg b. The concept of rescue is to save someone not to jeopardize the same rescuer. if there's a smart kid out there how to handle the situation, then raise you stupid hand.
From a professional rescuer point of view, the kid who shot this video did fine. nothing they can do from where there are. its almost 200meters aways & between 20mph raging water. no prof swimmer can go against that flow and w/o proper gadget.

Other videos appeal for help and one seems like entertainment. This does NOT shine a bad light upon UERM nor the people of the Philippines (I am married to one actually). It simply has inappropriate laughter of someone who does not understand the seriousness of the situation, the danger of death & the significant damage to peoples property. The same video has already been posted without the audio track. In my opinion, it seems the best thing that could happen here is that this video is removed.

Anyway, the issue is what is going on as captured by the lens, not what goes on behind the camera.

My boss's family owns one of those cars, and he was supposed to go to Manila to visit a relative who's a patient there. But he had to cancel because of the rains.

So don't rush to judgement and condemn all of us. For your information a lot of students helped in the relief efforts that the school carried out during and after the storm.

There is too much emission of gasses from factories.., Carbon Monoxide from cars.., chlorofluorocarbons, etc. damaging our atmosphere and the ozone layer. Basura, nakabara sa mga kanal at ilog... In the mountains, there is excessive cutting of trees that would hold water when it rains. Magkaisa sana tayo sa pag-alaga sa ating kalikasan!

From a professional rescuer point of view, the kid who shot this video did fine. nothing they can do from where there are. its almost 200meters aways & between 20mph raging water. no prof swimmer can go against that flow and w/o proper gadget.
