Holy Crap This is awesome. Way better than the original. I've never seen a cover better than an original before this. Do you record your own stuff? I use KRISTAL Audio to record.
nice cover, despite a couple of hiccups here and there with the chord chages.
Also, are you self-taught? Because you hold your power chords in a weird way. Try playing the 5th of the power chord with you ring finger and play the octave with your pinky. And if its a 5th string root power chord use your index to mute the 6th string, that way you can strike the chord harder with your right hand to get more of an attacking sound.
either way you rock! Do you have a cover of Volcano GIrls?
@DidureMom basically what she's saying is replace your second finger with your third and your third finger with your pinkie. It's less of a stretch and if you ever need to play a barre chord you'll be halfway there already.
its amazing what you can do with power cords! it would take me like 5 hours to play the song like you did. (well, to learn the notes.i can play it, but probably all slow and crappy. lol)
great cover, excellent job,you definitely should be in a band.I saw Veruca Salt live about 11 years ago, great concert....I've never seen anybody cover their stuff before..
great song and you did a really good cover of it. is it a hard song to learn? by the looks of it, the song just uses a progression of power chords, right?
and by the way, those glasses make you look superhot ;)
YOU ARE AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your a really great singer, im currently trying to learn seether, you should totally post some tutorials on how to do it
Yes, a warmer tone would be closer, and it sounds to me overdrive or fuzz would sound better; this sounds more like super heavy-metal distortion. A lot of Nina Gordon's tone comes of how hard her right hand hits, not from effects. Also, this girl's playing a Strat, not exactly the type of guitar for Veruca Salt's Gibson tones, though Nina also usually plays a Melody Maker or SG Junior, not humbuckers.
It's actually a Rockwood Pro... and my first electric guitar. Seriously, it's like, Walmart. I used an UberMetal distortion pedal because it's all I have. My amp is only 15watts and doesn't even have overdrive none the less anything effective.
Hey, don't you have another guitar you used on the Jack off Jill cover -- looks like a Schecter or Peavey? That one sounds like it has humbuckers. This one sounds like a Strat.
Yep, its a Schecter diamond series. It was on the fritz when I made this video. My dumb ass didnt realize it took a 9 volt, and was wondering why the hell it was picking up radio stations as I played. crazy stuff.
Ahh...active pickups. EMGs, probably? I don't like guitars that need batteries either. Although I own a Taylor T5 which has a great sweet sound (I used it on the "Sundown" cover), and also a Line 6 Variax bass that can model 8- and 12-string bass sounds. The batteries are worth it for those!
mm, I bet. Dude I'd die for your equiptment. Seriously I want to upgrade but I keep telling myself I need to get better. No use wasting beautiful instruments on ugly sounds.
Nice .

I am self taught. That being said I have no idea what you're talking about.
I wish I did though, because it's probably excellent advice.

Haha, you're OBVIOUSLY familiar with the band BEFORE Nina left. Their songs took sort of a negative turn. I love their upbeat stuff too though!

Obviously has never listened to the song with it's HEAVY distortion lol. If anything she could use a little more bass.
