Erin/Morgan: I am a San Franciscan and head to Glen Park's BART station every workday. I live in the Excelsior district. Not far from Bernal Heights and Glen Parks. Definitely plan on a bit warmer winters, no snow, and much colder summers! Lots of fog this summer in SF. I guess that's what we're famous for. Welcome to the Cool Gray City of Love!

Hi Beautiful. I'm right next to SF and go there weekly. Where in SF are you moving? Do you know about the districts? I can recommend some safer ones - rent really is based on what district you move to and the size of your place. What is your rent budget? (to help refer u) If you haven't found a place to stay yet the best place to look is through Craigslist. I have lived in SF 3 times and found all my places on Craigslist. SF will be great for you two, can't wait to have you here. Goodluck honey.

We have a couple areas we're looking at... Glen Park, bernal heights and hayes valley. We''ll be in town in a wekk or so to look at places and put down a deposit.

SF is one of the hardest places to find a place to live, be warned. You will look at many places and it will be like a zoo of people applying. It's very hard to land fast so don't get your hopes down if it takes longer than a week. You will end up where you are meant to end up and learn along the way. All those areas are safe and nice and a tad bit more reasonable then places like Noe Valley and Castro - which are also very desireable districts. Expect 1,200-1,800 base depending on size needed.

Hi Erin and Morgan. My mom used to manage a few buildings in Bernal Heights, and it is a nice place.Steep and narrow streets, but a nice place.A bit windy also. That is my input for that area, and i wish you all the best. oh- try the French food in Sebastopol . worth the drive.

There really aren't many places that I would want to live. New York City, kinda makes all other cities look like backwater towns. I couldn't do an inner american city, canada is too cold... there just aren't a lot of options... so San Fran or some other North West town was the way to go for sure. SF just had a job opportunity for Morgan.
