Sadly absent was the undeniably amazing guitar of David Gilmour, of Pink Floyd. He should have thrown "Money" or "Comfortably Numb" in there; and what about Eddie Van Halen? Hm. Nice job regardless, though. ;o)
This is cool, but no Black Sabbath in a "riff" medley??? I think Mr. Tony Iommi should be mentioned whenever the word riff is used. He's created quite a few classic ones.
That was pretty cool, actually! I wish they would have kept going. I think I'd like to hear a band do that all night, kind of like a greatest hits of guitar riffs without all the filler---just the best parts of the songs that we like to hear!
Yeah, so I guess the entire history of blues that the Beatles had nothing to do with didn't influence anything when it came to rock. Or the other bands that were out around the same time.
I'll admit they're an important piece of rock history, but anyone that spouts them off as the sole reason is a fucking moron.
you say they're an important piece of rock history
as for whether or not they're the sole reason, i say that they aren't. what i'm trying to say is that they ARE the most important reason as compared to anyone else, though they aren't personally my very favorite band to listen to (one of them though, i probably prefer the who)
but yeah, it was extremely ignorant of you not to consider them rock. they're just about as much or more rock than anyone else.
"without the beatles every single rock and roll song would be three or less chords...ac/dc would probably be a hillbilly band "
You pretty much seem to contradict yourself. Anybody can look at that and see that you basically said that without the beatles, all rock would be repetative and boring as it is today.
Try thinking out your posts carefully before you put them in.
i'm saying that blues and jazz had a great influence upon rock and roll, in fact it was the basis for all rock and roll. but it was quite repetitive before the beatles came along (as in CHORD STRUCTURE, the i-iv-v 12 bar blues). the beatles changed everything. its the truth (unless someone else came along and did the same thing, but the fact is it didn't happen)
of course i am, but rock and roll has changed since then. a huge factor in that change was the beatles. there's a distinct difference in 50's rock and roll and rock from the 60s onwards. the beatles were undeniably influential in this change. that's the truth
Let's not leave out the Rolling Stones, also from Britain and started in 1965, just a couple short years after the Beatles made waves in the United States.
Also, it started out life in about 2000 ( i think it was 2000, i could be wrong!) for Party In The Park as the 21 Riff Overture, its just grown a bit over the years!! Still FANTASTIC though.
I got Jamie Moses to clarify the 28 tracks on my upload from the Brook gig, so if you want to know which ones you guessed right then see the video response above.
You had to wreck it by including swearing didn't you... UGH!~

@psychogurl69 Just imagine what ABBA's songs would have sounded like if they had been a rock band ...
It's kind of shocking really. But that's how good songwriters they were.

Those extra three should have been as followed.
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
It's a long way to the top - AC-DC
Hotel California - The Eagles
As for Beatles.. well I never considered them rock, but then that's just my opinion.
Pumablues2525 2 years ago
@Pumablues2525 Beatles not rock???That makes no sense,,,there as much a rock band as the eagles.

If you listen carefully you will hear The Beatles "Day Tripper" riff in there.

I guess you're not familiar with Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, or Bill Haley and the Comets, rock legends who were all popular BEFORE the Beatles.
