  • Pure Yiu-Choi style ! Ji go hai tai ho tai ho! We do a cross between Yip-Man and Yoo-Choy (old 1960s' spelling),...a little different pattern, but same techniques and with the 'snake-hand' flow. Ho ho! MmGoi'!

  • Thanks . Yes , ...it`s nice to meet you ,too! Who is your Sifu ? You know ,...I saw a couple guys do some good "Yiu Choi" Chi Sao on-line. A video called ," Wing Chun Street Chi Sao in China." The 3rd pair of players . They looked Real good ,too . Check it out .Later,...

  • It`s a Real pleasant surprise to see a "Yui Choi" Form on-line! And done well ! They usually won`t show them in public. We`re Very lucky ! My Sifu - " Fok Chiu" , is also a direct student of Sifu " Yui Choi". The Mirror Hand is a version of Tan Sao ,or an inverted Pak Sao used to open up the oponent`s arm in order to deliver a Palm at either 10 O`clock ,or 2 O`clock( left , or right arm) .

  • Hi sjander29! It was great to meet "Tong Mun" on line! Fok Chiu is now the oldest living sifu direct from GGM "Yiu Choi" , you are so lucky to learn the traditional wingchun from him!

  • @sjander29

We also have the 'mirror hand' and call it as such too, for lack of the proper term.

The only common ancestor we share is Ng Chun So, through Yip Man though. Im under Ng Chun Hong lineage

  • what do you call the movement after pak sau at 1.01?

its something we practice in our school but i havent seen it anywhere else (before here) with the same intent as us

we call it mirror hand because the hand should be held (we believe) at an angle that you would look into a mirror

our lineage has a very strong mainland influence from Jui Wan

  • Hahahahahaha!!! Katastrofa!!! Kad bi Yip Man video ovo prevrnuo bi se tri puta u grobu!

  • lol! i dont think so, the whole art in all of its forms interests me - i think if i have an understanding of the history then i can also see why we do the things we do, and how it came about. lineage interest and all that sort of thing is borne from that interest.

  • lost balance

  • hahaha ke di lau si!!!! he shit his pants!!

  • nice...thanks...

  • Hi, are there still many branches from all three in FoShan? I'm very much interested.

  • Yea, there are many wingchun sifus in fushan. Includes those all three styles, but Yiu Choi linege is the biggest branch in FuShan currently

  • hi mofotox!

its nice to see a nice comment from you! can i ask what it is about Yui Choi that holds your interest?

  • Wow, that was a late response; I put that comment a year ago. Anyway, it is fact that Ip Man, Yiu Choi and YKS were the three important figures during the hay days in Foshan. I, obviously am from Ip Man lineage. Personally, I think the Vietnam YKS branch has much decay and suck ass so I'm interested in how the YC lineage is doing back in Foshan. Thanks for your inquiry, cheers. =)

  • YKS didnt go to Vietnam - it was Yuen Chai Wan (his older brother). incidently Yuen Chai Wan was Yiu Choi's first teacher! then Yiu Choi learnt from Ng Chun So (Ip Mans second teacher). i think you can only find Yuen Kay San's wing chun in Sum Nung and Mei Gei Wong lineages now (or these are the only ones marketed to the western world!)

what do you think of Sum Nungs students?

  • You are a Wing Chun scholar NorthernDave! =)

  • NorthernDave u got the right history :)
