Marriage Amendment Will Not Affect Domestic Partnerships

Funny how people will give negative ratings for comments but don't say why they disagree. I'm for this amendment because I believe it is the sovereign right of the states and the people within them to determine their social policies. Amendment 2 is a citizen initiative, we will be exercising one of our constitutional rights come November, and I hope it passes.

I am a Democrat and have oppose discrimination against gays and lesbians but draw the line at same sex marriage. The traditional family unit has been a source of strength. Let's not experiment with the basic building block of our society. Vote yes on Amendment 2.
