Madden is garbage, you can't even play the game like a real football game because of all the glitches in the blocking schemes on run plays and the DBs that can play super coverage. This game here is the real chess match. Just in case you're wondering why your passes never connect it's because your running backwards and your QB is throwing off his back foot. Madden lets you do that, this game doesn't.

rxl - in a 2 deep zone, that is the responsibility to cover 50% of the field. the safeties split the field in half and cover it, hence cover 2. cover three, the field is split by 3 defenders who are each responsible for a third of the field. $0.02

Madden players are unique? The teams play differently from one another? Funny jokes you got there. Substitute a lineman in at the QB position and tell me what happens. Exactly. Nothing. The lineman will have the same stance and footwork as the best QB's in the NFL. The same thing goes for any other position. Only a handful of ratings actually make a difference so there's no way the teams differ dramatically from one another.
@rxl209 25 and 3 unknown PLUS the various abilities. We discovered this recently with a hex editor and a editor is coming out this weekend making it easier to do the edits. They dont show ratings/or allow adjustments in game because they feared people would cheat. But we opened the game out and there are numerical ratings
@rxl209 They did it so nobody would exploit or make the game arcade, the whole purpose of all pro is simulation...and taking your team whether its pass oriented run oriented offense oriented or having a beast defense and going up against competition. We have tools to actually make a 2k12 now tho.
Um I personally don't like to play All Pro Football 2k8, but I will say that it is a better game then Madden. It came out in 2007 and it represents the laws of physics and better gameplay a lot better then the previous 3 Madden games that have come out.
Better graphics don't always make a better game. I would say the Old Gen Madden games are better then the new gen ones and those graphics are a hell of a lot worse.

Madden fed us the same old "we are the best ever" when it comes to football, when the only major feature in their game was the "weapons mode" and you could play superstar mode with current NFL rookies.

The only areas Madden beats APF is in the NFL license, and playbooks. The player interactions, animations, variety of animations, player tendencies and attributes are all implemented and utilized better in 2k than in Madden. Not to mention the presentation and franchise modes blow Madden out of the water. Had 2k been able to compete in the next gen football area without the cowardliness (although shrewed) practices of EA, we would see a far superior product to madden.

you can tell it's a demo when he pause it's just 3 options. plus the same people is on the same team as the demo. oh and peep buy new console for new games that require better performance from cpu processor. A non technical reason is that unlke microsoft ps is the only that still make game for it's old system. 2k8's graphics are as good as they will be. You can't fix it now. The ratings in madden are placebo. the ability based system boost stats and unlock moves that the player can use. BTW the bums you were talking about.......HEX editor

just bought this game (for $5 might i add) and i havent played a football game as long as i have played this in over a year. The only thing holding this game back is the licenses. This is a great football game and is the future of football games. I dont feel cheated when stopped by the defense and I havnt not seen the same tackle twice yet. This guy isnt really giving the game a chance, i wrote is off at first because it doesnt have real teams or players. But it really is a good FOOTBALL game.

why is he running, hmm cuz he has to plant his feet, or momentum will carry him back and cause a throw like that, madden, you can keep backing up and throw a perfect spiral even if the rieceiver is 30 yards out
the dropback is automatic. you're not supposed to use the joystick to drop back, the quarterback automatically drops back after the snap.

Madden players are unique? The teams play differently from one another? Funny jokes you got there. Substitute a lineman in at the QB position and tell me what happens. Exactly. Nothing. The lineman will have the same stance and footwork as the best QB's in the NFL. The same thing goes for any other position. Only a handful of ratings actually make a difference so there's no way the teams differ dramatically from one another.

Um I personally don't like to play All Pro Football 2k8, but I will say that it is a better game then Madden. It came out in 2007 and it represents the laws of physics and better gameplay a lot better then the previous 3 Madden games that have come out.
Better graphics don't always make a better game. I would say the Old Gen Madden games are better then the new gen ones and those graphics are a hell of a lot worse.
You can't just take your hand off of the joystick and make a stop on a dime.

@rxl209 Well the reason why they didn't buy it was obvious, Madden had a monopoly on the NFL license and most people at the time wanted to play with their favorite players and teams. Madden fed us the same old "we are the best ever" when it comes to football, when the only major feature in their game was the "weapons mode" and you could play superstar mode with current NFL rookies.
Just because the game is something that you are not used to, it doesn't mean it is a bad game.

The only areas Madden beats APF is in the NFL license, and playbooks. The player interactions, animations, variety of animations, player tendencies and attributes are all implemented and utilized better in 2k than in Madden. Not to mention the presentation and franchise modes blow Madden out of the water. Had 2k been able to compete in the next gen football area without the cowardliness (although shrewed) practices of EA, we would see a far superior product to madden.

@biz0586 As a longtime 2K fan, I have begrudgingly accepted Madden for the past few years. After all, I had no other viable options. I wanted All-Pro Football 2K8 to be the return to glory. That isn't the case. There are definitely some good things to build and grow on for next year, but the overall package is too sparse.

@rxl209 you acting like it came out this year it's a game made in "2007" it currently "2011" Plus there are downloads to get the nfl team on the game. you bashing a game with little experince. Type in this site 2k11. The playbook is better that any EA games. You can choose you set and plays seperately. Oh wait madden trying to sneak it back in this year version and tell you it's new. lol. You don't see folks going through folks to make a tackle on there.

@rxl209 you are twisting words. It's a great game. I stop playing Ncaa and Madden to play a more realistic game. Ea football games are arcade and sim game mixed with glitches and crappy programming. I said that with the ign quote assuming you got it from IGN. That's the first game on XBOX 360 and PS3 it's the first ever on these systems. You aren't seeing that. this isn't a new game but it more of a shame that ea are copying the same stuff the "garbage game of the month" has to put in 12. lol.

@ND7652 if i ever review madden it will be madden 12. you see madden makes a football game every year. nobody buys 2k football thats why its stuck in 2007. and when i do review madden 12. and as you can see (its pre ordered and paid for) it wont be a garbage game of the month game. hell i might just do madden 05 and compare it to 2k5. thats whats great about youtube, i can be a free thinker and not like apf2k8 just because you told me too

@rxl209 look this game came out damn near 4-5 years ago so yea the graphics are not up to date but when it comes down to gameplay all pro 2k8 is much better and way more smoother and madden has been producing games for a while now and all they have on all pro 2k8 is better graphics but when it comes to what we want which is GOOD SIMULATION GAMEPLAY all pro 2k8 has madden beat and its a shame cuz 2k hasnt made a football game since and maddden has made lik 3 and still cant fuck wit 2k8's gameplay

Hey give the guy a break, he's an amateur trying to gain some spot light. He said real players and real ratings... as if they MATTER in Madden. The player's eyes look robotic while the movement and running of Madden players are robotic. I mean, so many things can be said but Yeah, just give the guy a break.

@njohnskc you can nano in apf2k8, yes qb droptime can be fixed in an update, but the games 3 years old and such update has not been made in 3 years. you admit every team plays the same, that means this game grows stale fast

2k8's graphics are as good as they will be. You can't fix it now. The ratings in madden are placebo. the ability based system boost stats and unlock moves that the player can use. BTW the bums you were talking about.......HEX editor

and yeah graphics don't matter, the gameplay does. Now that NFL 2K5 is 7 years old, the graphics ain't good, but the gameplay is better than madden. Plus the graphics are nitpicking unless the gameplay is consistent and realistic, then the graphics should be an issue now that it's 2011

just bought this game (for $5 might i add) and i havent played a football game as long as i have played this in over a year. The only thing holding this game back is the licenses. This is a great football game and is the future of football games. I dont feel cheated when stopped by the defense and I havnt not seen the same tackle twice yet. This guy isnt really giving the game a chance, i wrote is off at first because it doesnt have real teams or players. But it really is a good FOOTBALL game.

@TheJackyjohn once the ball is hiked i dont want the cpu to drop back for me, i like to control the qb as soon as the ball is hiked. thats my real issue. the cpu having control over my qbs movements

why is he running, hmm cuz he has to plant his feet, or momentum will carry him back and cause a throw like that, madden, you can keep backing up and throw a perfect spiral even if the rieceiver is 30 yards out
