  • I can't think of one single thing Britain gained in its two foolish wars against Germany.

  • all the kids at my school resent me for knowing this i am appalled at how they make fun of all this.

  • What is this song

  • I am sorry, but this really is infantile shit and so disrespectful.

  • What's even more funny is the fact that, even if some kids these days get interested in these war battles, most of them do just because they love gore. lol

  • did anyone else watch the documentary 'the sommes secret weapon'?

  • 1915!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very cool vid must have took a while to put together

  • people from the US think they know what there talking about lets get one thing right the brits bombarded the hell out of them for some time after that all we here is they where just singing it out and waiting

  • We fought with Britain when she was striped bare of all allies in Europe. When she stood up high on the pedastel of defeat with the world reigning against her, with so few allies and so little hope. The sons of Canada came to the Empire's aid, the sons of Canada answered the call. In her greatest hour of need Canada stood by Britain. No matter the year be it 1914 or 1939, We will never forget where our loyalty is and where it will always be.

  • @FourDollarDoobie Thats all well and all, but the British were holding....realistically in WW1 Britain itself was never in any real danger of being overrun by the German Empire - the Royal Navy was simply far too strong for the German Navy half its size and firepower. No amphibious invasions of the UK then...Britain was just like all the other big players in the Great War, boasting its power and zealously allowing itself to be bled dry for ideology and reputation. Britain lost 950,000 men in WW1

  • @ThePalaeontologist took a beating from zeppelin raids though

  • @worthatronproduction Well, sort of. But the damage was minimal compared to the WWII Blitz, and I think it was far less than a thousand throughout the entire war that were killed in total. Besides which, the Royal Flying Corps as it was known before before being renamed the Royal Air Force, began to score victories over the lumbering gas filled giants rather easily. It was more to upset the British public and was widely condemned by many as blatent civilian murder. Britain held fast either way.

  • @ThePalaeontologist More soldiers dies in WW1, around 20,000,000 as WW2 had 13,000,000 soldier deaths, but civilian deaths in WW1 were around 7,000,000, but civilian deaths in WW2 were around 65,000,000 - 20,000,000 of which were russian

  • I LOVED HOW U MADE IT LIKE THE REV WAR!!!!!! IT WAS SOOO TERRIBLE AND INACCURATE HOW U MADE THIS VIDEO ROCKET LAUNCHERS??? THAT U LOAD LIKE MUSKETS??????

  • Just found out the other day that two of 3 of my ancestors died on those battlefields, it really does make your heart sink thinking that they had bothers to grow up and get a life get married, then told to join the army, and fight, and the sad thing is they we never going to know how bad it was going out there, but in all honesty, i would have served my country with pride, evan having the knowledge that i have now on the war.

  • These were True men

They say we should Forgive and Forget, True we can Forgive over time but We will Never Forget; Because if we forget a conflict so terrible such as this could happen again, so easily. The forces of evil in the world could grow at any moment. It is the old who declare war, but it is the young boys who fight it

Many of the young boys who went lived and thrived in tiny villages died a sad, short death on a foreign field

And i think to myself, What a waste of a young life

  • Why is everybody arguing about 'What country did what' Millions of people died over those years, and thousands on that battle, a little bit of fucking respect?

  • why does this have so many dislikes?

  • Why do these videos always wind up turning into nationalistic dick measuring contests. Let's all stop assuming we know what entire other peoples think about this or that because its all bullshit. Rest in peace to all who died during the war regardless of their nationality

  • les américains sont venu car apres nous c'était eux les suivants.....

  • may the lord jesus christ bless all of the poor mens souls on both of the sides allies and german may they rest in peace

  • the germans would have destroyed the allies if it was one on one.........

  • @FaustDesWodan yeah

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song being played at about 4:00?

  • @sdb5151225 Sgt. MacKenzie song

  • part 2 of this has the audio disabled.

  • Thank you so much for this project. It is an honour to know that there are still young people who wish to know about this history. My Great Uncle survived Gallipoli, The Battle of Pozieres, but finally lost his life at the Battle of Somme. Lest We Forget.

  • NVm I Only Saw Documentary Part When Sent Last Comment, Lame Lol But Nice Try On A Home MAde Vid

  • HAHA Im Making A School Project To But Mines About Poison Gas In WW1 I Have To Make A Documentary Also Thanks Great Job!

  • A muzzle loaded Bazooka ???

    LOL

  • To add...WTF!?

  • Yes because pistols, mortars and bazookas were used..

  • yeah and m16.. :))

  • and silenced mp5 were used :DDD

  • Fucking retards!

  • European war mungers...

  • hey what a bunch of prick you look stupid lol.you had no idea of the slaughter stupid american so go try see if you got any history lol it aint much lmao...pricks lol

  • there is no panzerauf in ww1

  • how come they have bazokes, they were not around in ww1

  • those are Lewis machine guns

  • idiots

  • gettyburg music :)

  • Well done, i like the renactment. Can anybody tell me the name of the song that is playing ( solo male singer) as the British troops are walking towards the German trenches? I remember hearing it in the movie "Hamburger Hill" i believe.

  • Sgt. Mackenzie from We were Soldiers

  • great idea! But who translated the German subtitle??? :-)

  • bravo cleareyes1984...so many examples...I love the Anarchist experience in Barcelona during the civil war...the other side got so bad, the church, state and military cooperation "forced the people's hand."

  • what is not illustrated is that 3.41 to 5.11 cost us 19,240 lives today that's one every 4 seconds for 24 hours.

  • I am absolutely disgraced that I am the only boy in my history class at school who actually knows a bit about this battle any the wars let alone the name of it! Young people today don't care for this stuff anymore, which in my opinion (and is also a fact) is inconcievable. These brave men went through the harshest of conditions to allow us to live freely and peacefully today, God bless you guys

  • not all people, im fascinated by these wars and why all these men gave their lives to protect our freedom, and if allied commanders wouldent have been so damn stupid and battleplans were better like the second world war, casualties would have been way less

  • Last year in history, I was the only kid who know anyting about any of the wars, it is sad, all the brave men becoming forrgotten... sad.

  • we're one of a kind dude, it shouldnt be that way

  • Yea, it shouldn't, I'm the only one out of my school who is willing to serve, I just enlisted in the Army at 17, everyone else who enlists is just for a job because of the econmy. I've been wanting to join for a long time.

  • good going dude i wanna enlist aswell but im not sure i can, im 16. I just want to serve my country in a way different from banking or whatever, and to kind of honour my grandfather who fought in Burma

  • next year you can, my Grandfather was in Korea, and My Great Grandfather was in WW1(he died before my dad was born), I've had relatives all the back to the revolution. My Dad supports the military but he and he's two brothers never joined, I scared the shit out of him and my mom when I said I wanted to join at 17.

  • my mum would be scared shit aswell if i told her i wanted to join. Nice family history though, it must be interesting to have relatives who fought in quite a few major conflicts

  • It is, but I don't know much about any of them other than my grandfather

  • Comment removed

  • @skatepunkzero

They shall never be forgoten Lest We Forget

  • @sinnfeinmurderers I sure hope so

  • @skatepunkzero So do i these were brave brave folk .....Northern Ireland UK has many a Somme comemoration parades all over on the 1st of July every year by the British Legion, Orange Order, Royal black institution, Etc etc,,, Their memories and memorials are well alive in Northern Ireland UK.

    Lest We Forget........

  • @skatepunkzero Well what with all these kids being raised to think war is a complete and total bad thing! War keeps the powers and the world in check in my opinion! Much love to the families of the heroes who have died!

  • @skatepunkzero

It was Genocide, and planned to smash all European peoples from ever being dominate ever again, so the enemy aliens of all Western people could defile us in peace.

  • WWI had nothing to do with freedom. Both sides were imperialistic.

I support the mutiny of French and Russian soildiers in 1917, and the German mutinies of 1918. They were fighting not just for freedom but survival.

How sad it is that people die "for their country" because they don't want to be seen as cowards. The masses are so easily manipulated by those with power.

  • Amen. You do have clear eyes.

  • Don't fool yourself. The few French units which mutinied in 1917 did so to protest against bad commanders : They were professional soldiers who only wanted to be led in combat by serious generals. Once Pétain took command a month later, attacks were resumed, and successful. Nothing to do with the desastrous Russian collapse, which in fact delayed victory by a year and added more casualties.

  • @TalonMercenary Young people today not only dont know anything about the World wars but of any other subject.I was talking to an 18 year old English fellow the other day who thought that Canada was somewhere in Europe!!

  • @musicologo1able Oh you have got to be kidding me....but then again i knew a girl who thought China was in Yorkshire (northern England). I cant understand some people's stupidity (or plain ignorance)

  • @TalonMercenary same for me in the subjects or WW1 and WW2

  • @TalonMercenary hang on mate i study ww2 and a bit of iraq and ww1 my teacher give relly bad looks when explain what happend i explain i to my mate !

  • @TalonMercenary I've been pretty much interest in these kind of battles since I was a small boy. And my conclusion is that any for of military services, how noble in intent, is what causes war and death. If no soul would be willing to take up arms under any conditions, then the world would truely be a better place. Taken a live is easy, giving one back is impossible. Safe your blessings for the people who feed the hungry without asking for any repayment, those are true heros.

  • Haha nice done =P

  • The ulstermen won it for them

    2-1 thats a win

  • "What message will it send to the world if a SF member tops the poll" Diane Dodds quote he he he WE ALWAYS WIN!!

  • 2-1

  • don't waste my time with your stupid little play time

  • You French and English guys that keep bitching America out for not joining WW1 earlier is pissing me off. If you would stop thinking about the present and think about the past you would realise that the British and French saw the arrival of the Americans as a gift. We came late but we still helped quite a bit before our entry. Our entry rallied EVERYONE to victory. That is my opinion

My respects to the boys that died on all sides. Rest in Peace...Heroes

  • I agree completely...and im English...it does annoy me to...my great grandfather fought in WW1 and he said what a relief it was when the Americans joined...I never met him but he wrote about it in his diaries. so I agree with you 100%

  • how can you say that they lost there lives for the good of the nations they were normal people who had no sins but were made ti do this at least you respect them and if you ever do vistit the somme or the graveyards around it you will change your feelingsmassivly

  • i agree. i cant really say how i truely would feel without having been to the battlefields. :)

  • in WW1 we joined toward the end thats why they were bitching. The war could have lasted around months and not tooken as much lives If the U.S. would have gotten involved earlier. It would have not cost that many lives. Instead the U.S. waited around 4 years to join. By then millions of men were dead.

  • im not trying to argue but i dont think it would only have taken a few months if we had joined earlier in the war. Trench warfare was a new kind of war and would still have caused a very long stalemate. but who knows? It might not have. we cant rewrite history lol

  • you americans did not have a major part in ww1,but a very decisive one.both sides could not afford to lose any more men when you came in.

i think that you and some bad decisions made by german generals Erich Ludendorff and

    Erich von Falkenhayn decided it.

if you didnt react maybe germany would have won it.

  • @UndeadGoober you got that wrong. you mean if yoyu forget about the past and concentrate on the present. noob

  • @walkertexasranger33 no. if you would READ what i wrote then it makes sense. so dont call me a noob. im not going to explain myself again, considering i commented on this a YEAR ago. read it again and try to figure it out.

  • @UndeadGoober thinking about how they were "saviours" or heroes or backup in 1917 is looking in the past so is "bitching" about how they joined late in the war. the present would be about peace and how everything is still alright in europe and most of the world

  • @walkertexasranger33 no no no. you missed the WHOLE point. my point is that MODERN french and english people are saying that America is taking credit for the whole war and that they were bitter about the help. my POINT is that the men back THEN were HAPPY to recieve the help and support of the United states. they needed them. Now YEARS LATER the french and English are getting a bit upset because SOME people think that america is credited with the victory...PLEASE read comments more carefully.

  • @UndeadGoober they should be bitter.. the vast majority of americans think they single handedly won every war in the 20th century.. there needs to be polar opposites

  • @walkertexasranger33 omg...thats not the point...im done trying to explain myself..theres only so much a 16 year old can hadle dude. good luck trying to figure this out

  • @UndeadGoober i know what the point is. and im explaining to you it doesnt matter if thats your point. thats not the way things work on both sides. youre just seeing black and white

  • @UndeadGoober that was until of course you entered peace talks with Germany alone mere weeks after your arrival! Lets face it, you only got involved because of u-boat attacks on US ships bringing supplies to Britain if it wasn't for that you'd have stayed well away and why not, the fields of Flanders, Ypres and the Somme were geographically thousands of miles away and politically even further. It wasn't your war any more than it was ours, unfortunately we had treaties we adhered to

  • umm yeah by the way the if the american never joined in the French would have been destroyed

  • very impressive job

  • Im an American, an although I respect everyone who fought, Germany honestly kicked ass.

  • lol you americans think you have fighted much in world war 1 ? just thank you for ammo and hospitals but thats all

  • Well, in France old people say that the arrival of American troops in 1918 was a wonderful event. We were war-weary after 4 years in the hell of the trenches and more than 1 million men killed. Seeing these young guys with their brand new equipment was like a shot of vitamin! They did well in the last battles of the war, from Bois-Belleau to the Meuse.

  • nope.

  • lol

  • But they still lost - twice

  • 3:56 what music it is? thx

  • failed what?

  • Comment removed

  • I am amazed. I appreciate the effort, but this vid is stupid. It trivializes one of the most horrific tragedies in human history. These nationalistic comments are even worse. WE? You actually fought there? No one understands the suffering. Real soldiers have some idea. Try sitting in a muddy hole all day in the rain. Try it for months. Try it with dead bodies. Satan owned the Somme. No one else.

  • just calm down! there is no need to get so defensive.

  • i no, the guys wouldn't hav the guts to do it themselves. i wouldn't either, freaking scary stuff. 10million ppl died in ww1, a whole generation of men destroyed on both sides. horrible

  • Maybe if the British had run instead of walking then the germans may not have had time to get thier machine guns back into position.

The uncut wire may have still stalled them though

  • You REALLY think the British walked when the MGs started opening up? Its a myth buddy, there was no order in the first place and no man is gonna keep walking when he is under fire, its against all instincts.

  • When they first went over the top they walked i didnt say they kept on walking all the way over no mans land BUDDY !!

  • In fact, I once read a quote from a German soldier who said, "If only they had run, they could have overwhelmed us."

  • whats the song called starts at 4:06

  • its from "we where soldiers"

  • LOL ummmm....years wasted

  • war is not a joke!

  • Nice work. But the uniforms don't look much like WW1 ones.

Anyway, it's still a good work.

  • it depends what side your on but yeah i still agree nice work

  • Nice project man. I understand if it wasent perfect. but 4/5. What did you teacher rate it?

  • You're a rather complex and winding character "Monsieur le Maréchal"I really don't see where you want to get to!!!!

  • Now gooner; we can talk about WW2 if you want, all I can say is that I would not have been proud at all to be french at that time. In this war we can talk about highly decisive role played by Britain and US. And as far as I'm concerned, I consider that we definitely owe you one. To Britain and America, We owe you one. That's all I can say about WW2. The maginot line was of no use at all, the border along belgium was totally unguarded . It was complete strategic failure.

  • I wouldn't listen too much to (some) americans and their goading - they would not have a clue what a battle like Verdun was.

  • I'm sorry bu I was just saying that we were more decisive than most tend to think, I'm not ungrateful, again I know the tribute the Brits, Americans and Russians paid during the war, and I know we would not have won without you guys. But I think you were fighting for your own survival as well, I don't think you cared so much about France. You know, if France had been invaded, Britain would probably have been too in the long run, so you knew you had to fight Germany, for your own survival.

  • We most Honoring and respecting, all those Braves soldiers from the world wide, who fought in FRANCE during this horible WW1 and after WW2...

May they all Rest In PEACE...

We will never forget what they've done, for the liberty of the world, and for FRANCE.!!!!

  • I'm sorry but although I salute those british guys who fought bravely, we Frenchmen paid the heaviest tribute in this war.

1,5 milion frenchmen died in the trenches. That is to say a whole generation. Verdun remains today the longest and one of the bloodiest battles of all times. There were around 350,000 casualties on either side. During the 10-month-battle for Douaumont, an average 40 shells/minute were shot. The experts believe it will take 7 more centuries to clear Verdun of all bombs.

  • russia lost more than the french

  • I agrre with you Marechal, yes the French lost 1.5 million men fighting for the survival of France, the British lost almost a million fighting also for the survival of France, from your post maybe we should have kept out of it alltogether and allowed Germany to overrun you. I have no disrespect for you, but your post seems a little ungrateful. without us you would have been screwed, and without the USA we both would have been.

  • I had the same feeling as you while reading his comment and felt rather uncomfortable .

  • Though I have immense respect for all those who fought this war,I have to say the Battle of Verdun was far worse and more decisive. Let me recall a few facts about World War I.

    - 1,5 millions Frenchmen died during the Great War.

    - 27% of the young French males between 18 and 28 died during the war

    - More than 80% of the frontline was held by the French army

    - In 1918, during the last major offensive of the war, the French had more divisions involved than all of the other allies put together

  • Je n'ai pas trop saisi la finalité de ces considérations. On pourrait comprendre que les français ont pratiquement fait tout le boulot ?.Je trouve ça un peu limite voire maladroit.Désolé!

  • British Generals, especially the one in charge, were incompetent for the job. The General in charge threw and killed tens or hundreds of thousands of soldiers, in order to keep his job. Wiht all due respect Brits were such dandies, almost faggot like in behaviour, speech, and decision making! They believed that a the British General could make no wrong decision; regardless of how stupid it was and how many thousands it killed. Their incompetence resulted in unecessary deaths 100's of thousands!

  • you are a fat american cunt

  • your a fucking idiot. brits wern't "faggot like" the generals were. they were the ones who sent the soldiers to there deaths, i dont think the soldiers went over the top thinking they wont die because the genarals are never wrong. they did it because they would be shot for cowerdise if they didn't. it was the rich twats who were put in charge even though they had never seen combat, and the working class had to follow there orders.

  • After watching the entirety and reading, I just want to say- awesome effort. Good camera and audio. Very cool transisions and attention to detail. Sorry for my haste.

  • - because there were bazooka and mortar teams in ww1? Mortars, certainly, but not those! I mean it's cool, but do a ww2 event with this scheme!

  • Ah the Somme, God's way of ridding Ireland of it's traitors, who thought it better to kill Germans for Irish freedom instead of the English who terrorised us for centuries.

  • 600 years is a long time to hold a grudge mate

  • The Easter uprisings, fully supported by Germany in order to destablise Ireland.

20,000 German rifles and 2 million rounds of ammo at the bottom of Cork harbour and the man we hung for it a Proddy homosexual.

Come on fella tell us how your lot helped the Nazis during WW2, or would you like to keep quiet on that one.

  • nice job for make a stuip video of the somme which basicly make a mocery of it

  • making ,stupid ,makes

  • Ah, the Somme, God's way of taking out Irish traitors. "Kill Germans for Irish freedom Paddy." Suckers.

  • Amateur lolvideo posing as a documentary - 1/5

  • well how do you do young wullie macbride , do you mind if i sit here by your grave side

  • A tin badge for a good soldier,

    A wooden cross for another,

A place in heaven for all my soldiers,

And a corner of hell for your masters.

  • such a well prepared plan that went to shit from the start.

so many heavy guns but not enough experienced men to use them

and then theres the bastard fog grr

    shame

  • good job I enjoy the Toy solider to Paint ball action sequnces.

  • You'd have to say this was stupid, but that might denigrate the brave men who died under such mad generals. It was like a game of chess and our brave boys were the pawns.

    The Kings. Well, they're daft.

  • dunno where your all getting you information from. There was only one band of men got to the fifth trench on 1st july 1916 that was ulstermen. god bless the fighting 36th

  • A bit slow but very inventive !

    5 stars

  • Canadians Owned the Somme!

  • the australians owned the somme mate it was the ausralians that fought at fromelle mate and fromelle was the worst part of the somme

  • EVERYONE who fought owned the somme,

you've gotta give the brits some credit,

    we came back from defeat

  • i give the brits credit for making an enormous mistake costing the lives of thousands of australian soldiers lives.

they made such an enormous fuck up the brits covered it up for 60 years

  • ANZAC battalions were made up from many men who had migrated to Aus/NZ prior to 1914. An old family friend went out to aus worked as a railway navvy set up sheep farm in NZ, enlisted in 1914 found himself in / Dardaneles. / film Gallipoli got it right (surprisingly enough) Thats why they brot / ANZACS round to France & Belgium it was to get rid of / witnesses

  • yer but they where migrants that where willing to rpotect australia

unlike todays migrnats that justs hit on australia the migrants back then wanted to live here and would do anything to live here even if it ment slaving there guts out in a rice field of sewer.

todays migrants just suck the government dry and are burdens on society.

so back then they where true migrants wanting to be australian and they where quite happy to fight for australia. as where today you wont get a migrant fighting.

  • Wherever, the Brit (Scots,English, Welsh, Irish) touched down Aus/NZ/US?Canada/India/S.Africa they took off their jackets picked up a pick & pade & began to build & cultivate. We inovated & invented / modern world as we know it. / Brits gave railways & security to world trade

  • thats right thy did all the shit work

they didnt build australia though however

but the migrants of today are parasites

  • yes a sad one that not trying to cover up but the english officers were not up to the job this was the first mecanised war and they just could not get their heads around it

  • and the commonwealth forces paid the price

  • learn to spell p.s the brave brits owned the somme

  • ashamed of themselves

  • i'll spell how i damn well please

and the brits realied on allied countries to win the somme the only beneficial thing the english did in the somme was invent the tank but at the same time costing thousands of lives in the battle.

the english are the ones that where supposed to die there no irish scottish canadians australians french should have died there and even one of these soldiers lives isn't worth 1000 english lives. the english are responsible for thousands of deaths and should be very

  • Mate that's horseshecht. The Australians lost 1.4% of their population, Britain lost about 2.3%. The ANZACs were also volunteers whereas Britain had conscription. Actually, viewed in isolation the Britrish country with the highest military casualty rate by far was Scotland -150,000 killed from a population around the 5 million mark - more than double the Australian rate.
