  • You carbon lifeforms better get used to your carbon taxes and all you good goyim keep paying your kosher taxes. In Canada our masters from a race chosen by god himself to decide for us, have blessed us with a new harmony tax. May Christ forgive what the leftover christians do to the human parasites when they awaken from their state.

  • She claims it is a replacement tax that is a blatant lie. It now taxes everything, including services that were never previously taxed. Liar!

  • This is a classic case of the practical vs the theatrical. We all know who to believe, economist are like fortune tellers, can’t tell shit from shinola.

  • She works for EHM's (economic hit man),crooks that promote so called economic forecasts that cannot be verified. How can any one in there right mind do 10 years forecasts? You cannot ,its impossible unless you have a crystal ball. see cafr1,com to see the truth about corrupt goverments and taxation. The goverment has more then enough taxes ,its so mismanaged. Try to call a goverment worker and see how much accountability you get.

  • Roslyn Kunin is a Liberal/Conservative idiot. She has no understand of fiscal responsibilitiy. I would agree with some of the comments she has never really held a real job. Any fool can work for the goverment and quotes facts and figures. The only reason she receieved awards is because she tows the line and pushs the crooks agenda. She has no sound understanding of economics. See Greg Palast's website about New Hapshires Nuclear power plant fiasco. The economist that promoted it, later recanted.

  • has Roslyn Kunin ever worked in the private sector, has she she ever started a business has she ever collected a paycheck NOT from taxpayers.......because Bill Vanderzalm built a business from scratch

  • Next up: vander Zalm debates an engineer on the finer points of bridge design.

  • HST is bad for BC because it will give Ottawa more power over BC that is what it is all about. BC will lose part of it's independence. Don't vote for the HST don't give BC away to Ottawa.

  • Search for video FightFightHST

  • The HST is a great idea. I want it. I don't make my decisions based on what my neighbour thinks. I look at the numbers and the facts to make my decisions.

  • it's pretty clear, the people don't want it!

  • from what I heard seems like HST is a win for businesses who will just pocket the extra cash and a loss for consumers who won't see any prices go down and up on certain stuff like food.

  • 90% of germans in 1940 were right to be Nazi's according to bills logic...

  • @ThePfcman 90% of germans were NOT Nazi's. There were a lot of people opposed to the Nazi's, but most silently, secretly, because of the danger they faced by voicing their opposition.

I saw a clip using your same argument about Bush when he went into Iraq - 90% of the population of the US were not supporting him. A LOT less than 90%, and those who did support him did so based on believing his lies. The liberal government has a long history of lies. Thankfully a lot less than 90% believe them

  • @TheMariwood Forgetting everyone's comparisons to history, do you really believe him when he says "if 90% of the people are wrong then they are actually right?" (min 5:13) seriously think about what he is saying: if 90% of people believed say 2+2=5 then they are right 2+2=5, ummm no 2+2=4... In context: A lot of people really do not understand how this HST works and are in general just confused and are being sheep following the loudest person and not deciding/researching for themselves.

  • @mytacct8 yes it is possible for 90% or more of the population to be wrong factually. The entire world once believed the planet to be flat. But in this case, when it's not hard facts but a preference between different options, 90% indicates the will of the people in a democracy. There are always uninformed people following the loudest voice - on either side. If opponents could come together and unite to find a common solution - better than both the HST and the GST/PST it would be far better.

  • @TheMariwood Well said, I agree.

  • And to add to that as well, and to further demonstrate your level of misinformation, nobody puts economists on a pedestal as a whole. The reason that Dr. Kunin is held as a higher opinion, again, if you had done any research on your own, is because she is an award winning BC Economist, and as well as being a recipient of the Order of Canada, she's received the Crystal Ball aware on several occasions for CORRECTLY forecasting Canadian economic trends.

  • lewinder, you're ridiculously misinformed. Have you taken a look at the list of items on the PST exemption list? It's not very big. The largest actual consumer item that was PST exempt is items of clothing under $100, and books and magazines. Yes, under HST you will have to pay a little bit more for these items, but the savings is in the fact that all the other items that people regularly purchase aren't being taxed multiple times at multiple levels. I suggest you do some of your research

  • I don't get why people put economists on a pedestal... They are among the most useless of professions and hardly any economist can make any real predictions! Numbers, like words, can be skewed to substantiate or generate an intended result.

what fact/research have any of you pro-hst bandwagoners come up with? Here's a fact: you now pay 7% more on previously PST-exempt purchases. PST were a one-time tax on large purchases such as a car or a home. PST were not applied to service industry.

  • Vanderzalm keeps back tracking and makes the argument that they "held back"information before releasing the HST. That we already know. That's not the question. He's turned this into a circus and now we're about to vote the two-tax system back into the province.

  • This answer to this debate is so simple: Are you going to:

    a) Listen to an award winning economist(s); or

    b) Listen to an agenda-motivated politician?

Please people don't listen to politicians and emotionally-charged pundits and activists, research the facts and come to your own conclusion. You owe it to your democracy.

  • wtf..... no part 2? all the technicalities were in part 2

  • pretty funny to see a video so old have so few views even though everyone is so sure they hate hst it seems asthough next to none of them has done any research
