How is the weight loss going, 60 pounds is an impressive amout to lose on your own. Besides the exercise, do you have any tips for people who seem to have plateued?
@Oreocremerocks i since had SRS in Dec 2008, and since losing my testosterone supply, and taking on estrogen, i have seen my strength, speed, endurance, and metabolism levels lower significantly. i managed to get another 10 pounds off prior to surgery, but have put back on close to 50 in the later stages of 2009 and in 2010.
there are really no short cuts. healthy eating, regular exercise, lots of water, and 7-9 hours of sleep seems to be the formula..
@Zentwang it was nice at the time, but unfortuantely, it didn't last. i was mysteriously let go and my contract was not renewed.... and i was replaced by 2 other new people who were given most of the work i was doing. a very sad ending to what had the potential to be a really good story....
I know bois on estrogen, it is very inexpensive even without insurance $10.00 gets a 90 day supply. Maybe you doctor can write a script for you. You will love what it does for you.
i started estrogen about 5 months after this footage was filmed. since then, it has slowly worked away. it's been pretty much as i had expected... minor breast development, softer skin, higher body fat, change in emotions, and of course, reduction in energy levels and muscle mass.
The penis in the bikini bottoms and the bra with no breasts - I can understand it takes an enormous amount of effort to swtich genders, but this just looks freakish. Be one or the other properly, and that doesn't mean surgery, but to appear as a man or a woman, this just looks like a circus sideshow, and it doesn't have to be this way.
properly?? since when did you have a right to define how one should or shouldn't act?? every transsexual is unique and we will all transition in different ways.. i think i looked great in the bikini back then and so did many others, and that's all that really matters..it's not my fault that i couldn't afford SRS or breast enhancement surgery at that time.. but there's no reason that should stop me from pursuing a real life experience test...
@JenniferPoco You could of at least tried tucking, as well why were you not on hormones yet even? I'm on hormones yet I havent worn a single piece of female clothing since I was a kid.
going full time as early as i did certainly added challenges, but it seemed to be the only way to convinced my doctors that i was for real.. it worked, and things have really progressed well for me since i did those videos a year ago..
Very brave! but it would seem like you would want to wait till the hormones etc... had taken effect before you changed your name and started presenting at work... Not taking anything from you but I'm trans as well and I don't even think of telling work untill I'm a little farther along the path.
I thank you so much for bringing this discussion further into the public eye. We've all been cultured into rejecting difference, and it's great to see people like yourself making sure people realise this. Thank you so much Jennifer :)
it's great to see so many comments on here. positive or negative, any discussion about transsexualism is good. this issue has been on the back burner long enough. NTV wasn't perfect, but at least they didn't paint me out to be a bad person or as if i was doing something wrong. at this point, i'm much more concerned with gaining access to HRT than i am concerned with public perception of me. people don't have to like me, just as long as they don't hurt me or abuse me, i'm fine with the stares.
Jennfier you feel you are woman and it dosent matter wha there poeple see you as are the woman you want to be,Also keep up the good work of becoimg the woman you truely are girl Kiss Kiss.
i was slightly upset that NTV still doesn't understand the correct definitions of transmen & transwomen, however, i felt the story was a fairly accurate account of me and the positive things in my life. i was surprised they did not air my controversial comments about health care resources and health care funding..
i don't have a problem with people staring at me. out of respect, i feel it was important that i tell my story to them all so they won't be scared or alarmed when they see me.
living the life anywhere is hard enouf i have moved out of newfoundland because trying to make a new start i have been living now almost 5 years fulltime and yes rhaina presentation plays a major key role i know like i said before i as well am living it and it is not easy i myself am not tryign to put anyone down but jennifer take it from my experience ntv was not the way i know of someone who has gone that route before and she had a really hard time recovering from it
Jen we have chatted this before presentation has alot to do with things and if people see a 'obvious' man then they are gonna look ... Not putting you down or anything but presentation does alot with transition.... YOu know that I know that too because I am living the life here too and u know whats on the go with me... Personal life great work life not so great... Hope all works out for you.
Appearances are exactly that. Appearances. What matters most, I believe, are the things that make your heart content. The things that make one feel comfortable on the inside.
She's already said that she couldn't afford SRS or any of the feminization surgeries. And regardless of her being pre- or post op, she's a woman. She asks to be identified as a woman and people should honor her request.
I see NTV has done it again!!!!!!!! obeviously they dont know what the difination of transgendered person is Being Transgendered from newfounfland and after seeing this i really dont know what to say

You are so lucky to work in an environment where you are socially respected and quite possibly accepted as well.

The energy level may be as simple as needing more sleep. In fact I suspect it is just that.

I commend your bravery and effort.
I'm a LGBT ally and I love how the Trans on youtube have created a little community.

Loving the sociological reference to Judith Butler. Congrats on being yourself, I speak from a very jealous perspective.

Thank you for sharing! Really brave and true: "We are all doing gender" and it could be different. I love this discussion:-)
