@weehooherod is it fuck! - Get Ready by Downlink is a bunch of arse noise.. it really pains me to listen to the sad excuse for music shat out by many of todays so called musicians.. Sometimes I think there must have been a whole generation born with faulty hearing.. poor things. I know there's this thing about kids listening to stuff their parents wouldnl't like, but there is a difference between music & noise - so with few exceptions, it's oldskool all the way for me..
@pouderbern When I listen to Skrillex my ears start to bleed and I start suffocating on my own vomit. Arguably, that is a warm and fuzzy feeling, but it sure isn't pleasant.
@herrissis I did an oldskool set for a mate who lives in TN. She said she wants to move to the UK cos the music is a lot faster. She was gutted when I told her this was from back in the daze and (sadly) no one makes stuff like this any more :(
abbie nope east london moon dance and summer dance jenkins lane pick up point stratford man was i fucked but yeah your right memories and people dont get these tunes cos it all main stream shit these days (sigh) but these tunes are getting remixed now cos they where before there days if you get me lol
I loved 1990 to 93 but got burned out early. My other half doesn't get me listening to this now but it was part of life and still does it for me now - everyone needs memories. Does anyone remember going to Reincarnation at Herne Bay, Kent - the live didgeridoo - talk about hairs on your neck at 20K???
Simply the bollox, cutting edge & nothing less than i would expect from one of the greatest pioneers in the original Hardcore scene of 91-93 ,when you could smoke @ a rave. I thank God i was old enough to experiance the greatest gathering of youth the UK has ever known. So sad those days are gone :(
I listen too this tune now after all them years of raving too it back then and say ''fuuuuuuck! this is sooo fucking with my head'' big up them days! Big question mark our taist in music man?? its almost unbearable.
Fucking monster tune! Best mix by far...i'm sat on my own in an office, everyone else has fucked off....next week the company shuts down for good (gone bust) and I'm out of a job....so i'm entertaining myself by going back in time to when i was 22 (1992!) and pilling my fucking head off every night...field, warehouse, arena didn't matter. No money shit, no kids, no mortgage, All that mattered was the rush, the mates, the hugs, the DANCING! Fucking wonderful times, will never be repeated...
What is it about this kind of music that I like so much. I didn't grow up in that era and never had the opportunity to go to raves with great tunes such as this, yet every time I hear music like this, I get this wonderful nostalgic feeling!
I was too young to appreciate these songs when they came out, but now I'm totally in. Thanks to Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music for introducing me to this awesome stuff.
Surely one of the best Hardcore tunes EVER. It didn't pretend to be anything else other than a full on hardcore track rather than a beefed up remix of a house track.
i always remember when i was about 13 my mate blowing up his parents speakers playing this stuff, the neighbours must of hated us X) good music needs to be not just heard but felt in ya guts, gonna try download some of the good old classics if i can, nice one mate.

@DjSprinks890 i wouldnt be able to look at her the same way again im sorry, thats grounds for divorce in my eyes!! my gf was 2 young for it all 2 and i think its real sad she didnt get to experience in my eyes the best musical era of all time!!.............and b4 anybody pipes up with the inevitable, it made the 60s look like a sunday school day out!! free love?.....pah!!....RAVING STOOD FOR FREE EVERYTHING!!!....then ministry of sound raised its cash driven head and it was gone forever..R.I.P

Thanks for posting this. Raving back in the day was about the vibe. Its a shame the scene splitt. It perhaps needed too for the production to improve but we all seemed to forget the whole point and that was the incredible vibe of a rave. Love, peace, harmony and incredible fun. Bring back break beats mixed with piano.
QUALITY!!! Love this sooo much. Brings back all the happiest memories! Theyre not made like this anymore! All gangsta shit and hate crap. Remember when people actually used to DANCE? Instead of doing a bit of ass bumping? fuck i miss those days. :-D :-D :-D
oh man i got tingles up my spine ......what a fucking time man i swear when that piano came in it flooded my head with memorys ........ cruel how we all gotta get old and change man big up all the old skool this one deffinently took me back to class......they dont make um like this any more mate
wasnt keen on part 1(james bond music, you only live twice,in the middle ruined it) love part 2 and this one tho.found this after so so so so long and my god did it bring things back dummies and whistles people!!!!!
1:44 simply amazing, if you want to look for people with their fingers in the oldskool pie who had massive influence on the scene, look no further than dice and acen. that sound with the rocket taking off breaking down into a piano riff with the subtle sounds echoing out - simply amazing. Guaranteed to get everyone in a club tuned in on the same wavelength- no attitude just smiles
Wot a tune, Iv got the original of this on vinyl and it cost a small fortune but worth every penny cos it brings back so many great memories. Theres still so much love for the oldskool on youtube, proud to be a part of it, big up n respect to all the Oldskool massive. We knew how to party back then, they dont make em' like us anymore.!!.
If you remember these old school classics. then you need to check out MasterCutz & DJ Ranger who have a show called Timeless Sessions on icecoldfm. Its an online radio station or on radio 103.0. all these 2 play is back in the day stuff. either old school house, hip hop or soul. i stunbled across them but i always listen to them. they play some real classics. dont know how many tunes these boys have but they must be some real collectors. they tend to be on sundays 10am-12pm. check em out.
Having been a club labrynth disciple, hardcore will forever be my music of choice and absolute love. Why stop making it, well times change and people want to progress, fair enough, but what its left us with is an absolutely phenomenal catalogue/legacy of ground breaking tunes which we still write and RAVE on about today, tomorrow and the next. Hardcore will never die.. x
Yes! :) It really is a beautiful track and used to go hard to it back in the day. I LOVE my piano tracks but the piano at 1:44 is simply amazing. For those that were not there (or even born yet) just listen from the start with you eyes closed and when that piano drops in picture 20,000 (or even just 100 in a small club) like minded people sky high just giving it their all..... Shit - gives me a ruch just thinking about it! mmmmmmmmmm long live the Old Skool x
I also just wanted to say that i completely agree with everything you just said!, well done you for writting how i'm sure many other people feel about this song!. x
variety is nothn more than the outcome of vision and progression, its y we love our music and its WHY we have the musics that we all love now 2. without progression we wud have got nowhere n evryfin wud sound the same. big respect to those that still have the essence of what it stood for embedded in their hearts and still believe in it. we'll be the ones that carry the torch n keep the vibe alive, the 'bad attitude' types wil no doubt fall by the wayside wen the nxt popular thing comes around
nice to see a proper conversation over music on youtube without the 'my genre is better than ur genre' bullsh!t. its a refreshing change instead of that childish crap. i 2, like a lot of u, was into the rave scene at the time of this era (young, but very much rooted in the rave scene even then) n i 4 1 remember wot it was all about :D as im again sure a lot of you ppl do. the scene bak then was already a mish mash of different styles/genres like we have today, but the difference was the attitude
wow I found Mr Kirks nightmare on here and couldnt believe this would be on here too!! I was 12 when this was doing the rounds. The thing about this tune though is it doesnt sound slow unlike some hardcore tunes from the same era, you could easily play this in a rave today and nobody would clock that its over 15 years old
well it's the roots. there are x-amount of tunes I/you could name, that are still good to go back to, that's the point. I was 17 when I got into it by accident, solely due to it all happening 5 minutes up the road. NW / West London was kicking off big time back then. It was a very different time, does make me happy/sad when I hear people a lot younger missed out, BUT have access to a massive back catalog of blueprints (tunes).
One of the best pieces of breakbeat-jungle-drum&bass of 1992, classic rave tune, played everywhere and with too many remixes... Not many artits/bands/djs can write a song today that will sound so fresh after 16 more years- That is in 2024...
i feel like i'm 12 again..... yay!! xxxxxxx

Shit - gives me a ruch just thinking about it! mmmmmmmmmm long live the Old Skool x

that was rush not ruch... just shows you what listening to a great track can do to your typing skills!

variety is nothn more than the outcome of vision and progression, its y we love our music and its WHY we have the musics that we all love now 2. without progression we wud have got nowhere n evryfin wud sound the same. big respect to those that still have the essence of what it stood for embedded in their hearts and still believe in it. we'll be the ones that carry the torch n keep the vibe alive, the 'bad attitude' types wil no doubt fall by the wayside wen the nxt popular thing comes around

nice to see a proper conversation over music on youtube without the 'my genre is better than ur genre' bullsh!t. its a refreshing change instead of that childish crap. i 2, like a lot of u, was into the rave scene at the time of this era (young, but very much rooted in the rave scene even then) n i 4 1 remember wot it was all about :D as im again sure a lot of you ppl do. the scene bak then was already a mish mash of different styles/genres like we have today, but the difference was the attitude

this is the best post i've ever seen about anything.

wow I found Mr Kirks nightmare on here and couldnt believe this would be on here too!!

PERFECTION the only person that could make Liam sound ordinary.
Hands up for a relaunch of rave, even people who werent 'there' then love it now.
And I was there, well in body, thankfully

One of the best pieces of breakbeat-jungle-drum&bass of 1992, classic rave tune, played everywhere and with too many remixes... Not many artits/bands/djs can write a song today that will sound so fresh after 16 more years- That is in 2024...
