I'm Canadian, so my culture is different. But I am not a thief, and I can tell you that I would be dead today if it weren't for our single payer system. I can't afford your insurance, and I sure as hell don't feel bad about the fact that we the people deem single payer worthy of our tax dollars.
For the love of God, health care in the UK is way better!
That is patently ridiculous. And I like Michele Bachmann just fine, but that comment was way off base.
One of the areas I disagree with Ron Paul in is health care. I think that taxes are a good thing when they go into benefiting the collective. I don't equate taxing people with "stealing", and really we're just using words here. It is about intent and utility.
It is simply a matter of implementing services correctly.
lol hahaha your ignorance is hilarious. you think your mri was free?? you think there was no cost for your mri's? so in canada do doctors and nurses not get paid? do they not pay for electric or rental medical spaces? does canada have some kind of magic where expensive medical equipment designs, develops, and builds themselves at the wave of a wand? and does the person who waves the wand not get paid? are we all morons for not applying this magical "free" stuff to every other industry? fool
i'm quite aware of the % of my income that goes to my medical care. it's approximately 80 cents a day for someone with a 50K job, which isn't much when you think about 5 or 6 MRIs being free.
I know, it must be hard for someone with a corn cob stuck up their ass like you to accept that for less than the price of a coffee a day people can have great universal health care.. but it's true.
haha the only thing funnier than you thinking your healthcare is free is you thinking that it cost .80 a day lol. lets say that out of the 33 million canadians that 25 million work (generous) if it costs .80 per day that means that every year total canadian health care cost would be 20 million dollars, hahaha maby for 1 hospital in a month or two lol. still gonna try to say is cost the average guy .80 per day dick? even 100 times your number isnt even close. .80 per day hahahahahahahahahahahaha
total canadian healthcare costs are around 170 billion dollars per year, if you divide that by about 25 million working canadians your looking at about $6,500 per year for the average worker. now if youv been working for lets say 5 years so far in your apparently young life, thats a total so far of 32,000 that you and/or the average worker would have paid in taxes or national debt. are your 5 or 6 "free" mri's worth that asshole? .8 per day lolol I still cant get over that level of ignorance
I love it when you say that you can have universal "free" healthcare for less than a cup of coffee per day. you even solidified it by adding "but its true" lol so hillariously insane. its almost like you just think of something outrageous and than say to yourself "that sounds good, im gonna believe that and think that its reality". its funny how the rest of the world pays thousands of dollars per person per year in healthcare but you seriously believe that you canadians pay $292 per year hahahaa
If Ron Paul wants to actually return to free markets, he would be arguing against monopolies of any kind, not just public, government, subsidized ones, and, not just the bailouts, but ALL monopolies. Including the private media conglomerates that control the debate so that we can't even have the discussion. He talks about indoctrination of kids in schools, well what about the private monopolies that write their textbooks, that teach them lies about the free market?
No he wouldn't. You don't understand free markets. Free markets are NOT anti-monopoly, they're anti-coercion. Not the same thing. The only lies are the ones you're repeating.
Since you seem to be in charge of the definitions, please do illustrate why monopolies are encouraged in free markets and why they are not coercive, if I understand you correctly. RP has already argued against media conglomerates that control the debate, which hindered his 2008 campaign. Please try and look things up beforehand, for your own benefit. Thank you, and fyi, I can't stand Michael Moore.
dont you see the difference between making it a law to watch a certain television station and choosing?you you really think that it would be better if the government decided that there was a media monopoly and then had the power to shut stations down and allow certain ones on its own power? do you really think you would be better off in that situation?and the media is bias and very pron to propaganda and thats why its good to call them out on it, the viewers are responsible to denounce our media
you dont understand that it is impossible for a monopoly to exist in the free market unless it is truly providing the best product at the cheapest price. the only way a monopoly of anyother kind can exist is when the government gets involved in the free market and makes laws and regulations not allowing competition or making it too costly.you also forget that text book monopolies only can exist if a government makes a law to buy their products. with totally free market private schools you decide
So if you have 5 health insurance corporations that are all owned by the same company, is it still a free market? What if you have 5 health insurance companies that agree to all have certain policies in common for their own benefit? Is that still a free market?
You must've just woke up our of the uterus, cause it sounds like u were just born yesterday.
haahaha. the only way that is possible is if gov. laws prevent other companies from competing. and ofcorse those 5 companies will try to use gov to keep their monopoly, but if the companies dont have big gov as their tool then other companies will spring up, dont you know that if there is money to be made that greedy capitalist will start a business to undercut a rediculously profitable monopoly? arguing with you is like arguing with a 4 year old
its funny to me, cause i've travelled all over the planet, and i only meet people with your kind of narrow republican-free-market obsessed attitude on youtube.
why is it that 16% of your country's GDP goes to medical expenses, while Canada and the UK spend 10%?
The republicans will bankrupt your country with medical and military costs, your empire will be suffocated within 50 years.
nice we agree I hate republicans and I hate democrats(same thing) im glad to see that your atleast smart enough to realize that washington is and have been bankrupting america. the only thing that troubles me is why you single out the horrible republicans and not almost all of them? I see by your moving to another straw man agrument youve given up on your .80 per day healthcare explanation. all you have left is to argue against republicans who are not free market(they just say it) instead of me
just cause i moved to a different talking point doesn't change the amount we pay for our health.. the dems have a few good points, the only good thing i see happening in your country during obama's administration is the public health care.. Ron paul has a few good points, and a number of other points i think he's wrong on. Ending the fed and the war are the only two things i agree with ron paul on.
well you said that it cost .8 per day for healthcare and I proved to you that thats not even close to true and your response was to ignore my winning facts and to attack the republicans, a bigger man would admit that he may have been embellishing a tad on your .80 figure and then move on, dont just ignore your defeat and start attacking a non tangible person or issue (a political frat club). its ironic that you have such little confidence in yourself that you think gov has to control your life
p.s. my winning fact is that america pays 16% of it's GDP to medical expenses, compared to the 10% paid in the UK or Canada. Did you have a response to that?
first of all my reply to that is america has far far superior healthcare in terms of treatment, quick service and innovation. second of all I am not saying we have a great healthcare system I think it would be 100 times better at 1 tenth the cost if the gov in america got out of the insurance and healthcare industries. you keep trying to pin me as some kind of status quo political hack. I think that americas healthcare and canadas would be a lot better without government interference.
judging by the fact that your life expectancy is 57th in the world, the quality can't be that great. judging by the fact that 50m can't even get any diagnosis or treatment, and judgeing by the fact that the insurance companies in the states are cancelling insurance on people for pre-existing condistions (which is really ridiculous if you ask me) i'd say america has the worst health system out of any western power.
wow, your full of laughs. first of all why should you get "insurance" against something that already happened? you wouldnt expect your car insurance company to insure your car against an accident after it already happened. you and my government dont know what insurance is and how it best works. the government mandates on covering everything from pre existing conditions to a regular check up is the cause of our problems. and the insurance companies benefit from the corupt gov., not free market
i definitely agree that *your* insurance companies benefit from the corrupt gov... but cleaning up washington of lobbyists and corporate campaign contributors is another discussion... Otherwise, the discussion of 'pre-existing condition' would not be an issue with a public option, but with brainwashed capitalists like you around there's no way your country will ever figure that out.
atleast you had a little light of thought when you removed your comment after saying that you dont pay for your health care but your employer does. you must know how insane of a thing that is to say. you still dont get it though, costs dont magically go away if someone takes your money and spends it for you. it so sad to see such ignorance matched with an ironic sense of confidence and condecendence. every point I made to you you couldnt explain how it was wrong and you just make up stat numbers
lol to say that america has the worst healthcare quality is insane I wont even respond. why cant you understand that if everyone pays for their own healthcare (charity for some) and everyone pays for their own catastrophic insurance, it is cheaper than everyone giving money to the gov and insurance companies and then they take their cut and run it through special interest and b/s and then dole out the remainder to all of us and try to get us to believe that that is some how cheaper????????????
most of the top medical schools are in canada, europe and a the usa.. some of them in canada move to america to make more money because there's more people and more business, but this is usually very specialized work.. In Canada on the other hand, we have millions upon millions of people who come here simply so they can get basic health care because thats the stuff that matters, not specialized plastic surgery or what have u.
you just love making stuff up dont you.I guess thats what you have to do when you have no facts or logic on your side. its ironic how you view the free market as an oppressive greedy system and you view a big government spending your money for you as more noble, its ironic because the exact opposite is true. your whole philosophy rest on believing that some people(gov) are so superior to other people (everyone else) that they know how to run their lives. your view is oppressive and medevil, dick
according to you we would be seeing food companies getting together and raping us all, along with oil companies, phone companies, car companies and EVERYTHING???? how come that isnt happining dick? or does that only exist in your fantasy examples that you make up and ignorantly believe to be reality? unless gov prevents competition you will NEVER HAVE A MONOPOLY UNLESS IT PROVIDES THE BEST PRODUCT AT THE BEST PRICE..PERIOD. the sooner you understand that the sooner you can begin to learn in life
I can see your teenage angst and lack of exposure to anything outside your state or country is making you somewhat simple minded so i'll break it down. Phone companies in the united states and canada do this.. That's why AT&T is the last company on the planet to properly use current technologies. I could write an essay about the other companies, but this has nothing to do with health care, but more to do with the way your country deals with lobbyists & campaign contributions.
Freedom is what this country needs but it does need to be communicated properly to the people and freedom in healthcare wasn't explained to the audience with any A game.
More like D game...and it still sounded better than the government crap they want to give us now. Funny....freedom is powerful.
So why doesn't Obama talk about medical malpractice reform. Love Michele for giving kids an idea on how to challenge their teachers regarding the propaganda.
haha it looks like the republicans are changing their minds on dr paul. bachman seemed really obsessed with getting associated with ron paul and even clapped for ron paul 2012. haha very cool
