That is patently ridiculous. And I like Michele Bachmann just fine, but that comment was way off base.

One of the areas I disagree with Ron Paul in is health care. I think that taxes are a good thing when they go into benefiting the collective. I don't equate taxing people with "stealing", and really we're just using words here. It is about intent and utility.

It is simply a matter of implementing services correctly.

i'm quite aware of the % of my income that goes to my medical care. it's approximately 80 cents a day for someone with a 50K job, which isn't much when you think about 5 or 6 MRIs being free.

I know, it must be hard for someone with a corn cob stuck up their ass like you to accept that for less than the price of a coffee a day people can have great universal health care.. but it's true.

total canadian healthcare costs are around 170 billion dollars per year, if you divide that by about 25 million working canadians your looking at about $6,500 per year for the average worker. now if youv been working for lets say 5 years so far in your apparently young life, thats a total so far of 32,000 that you and/or the average worker would have paid in taxes or national debt. are your 5 or 6 "free" mri's worth that asshole? .8 per day lolol I still cant get over that level of ignorance

If Ron Paul wants to actually return to free markets, he would be arguing against monopolies of any kind, not just public, government, subsidized ones, and, not just the bailouts, but ALL monopolies. Including the private media conglomerates that control the debate so that we can't even have the discussion. He talks about indoctrination of kids in schools, well what about the private monopolies that write their textbooks, that teach them lies about the free market?

Since you seem to be in charge of the definitions, please do illustrate why monopolies are encouraged in free markets and why they are not coercive, if I understand you correctly. RP has already argued against media conglomerates that control the debate, which hindered his 2008 campaign. Please try and look things up beforehand, for your own benefit. first of all my reply to that is america has far far superior healthcare in terms of treatment, quick service and innovation. second of all I am not saying we have a great healthcare system I think it would be 100 times better at 1 tenth the cost if the gov in america got out of the insurance and healthcare industries. you keep trying to pin me as some kind of status quo political hack. judging by the fact that your life expectancy is 57th in the world, the quality can't be that great. judging by the fact that 50m can't even get any diagnosis or treatment, and judgeing by the fact that the insurance companies in the states are cancelling insurance on people for pre-existing condistions (which is really ridiculous if you ask me) i'd say america has the worst health system out of any western power.

most of the top medical schools are in canada, europe and a the usa.. some of them in canada move to america to make more money because there's more people and more business, but this is usually very specialized work.. In Canada on the other hand, we have millions upon millions of people who come here simply so they can get basic health care because thats the stuff that matters, not specialized plastic surgery or what have u.
