  • does SSD4 have piccolo snares?

  • Hay bro. It sounds soo cool..My question is, can we use multiple kicks, snares etc. at the same time? Say, i'd like to blend 3 kicks..At SSD 3.5, we could do that easily. And if possible, is there a limit for this "layering" process? How many separate elements can we add ?

  • @baranismen Hey yeah you can, you can layer drums inside SSD4. Exactly how many I'm not sure but there's a tonne of empty slots.

  • Intro rules dude, i dig your shit man,

  • @jamoxesox Thanks :)

  • Yeah going to have to. Dunno if I like the cymbals yet anyway :/ what do you think about em. I didn't own 3.0 but I know they were notorious for being ass-tastic. So these are probably better. But side by side with superiors OH's and room what do you think. I'm debating getting S2.0 to go with this.

  • @TriviumCrusader17 I think the cymbals are a big improvement on all previous versions. Those really were ass-tastic as you put it, I'll throw in plastacular, horrible plastic sound. My problem with Superior is some of the cymbals have this really weird washy phasey thing going on. Not all of them but some are unusable. Superior still has the best room mics imo. These SSD cymbals are ok I think, no weirdness or fake quality, a bit distant sounding but sit in the mix easy as a result.

  • For some reason I'm getting cymbals and hats in my kick track. Not room or bleed but full on cymbals coming out send 1 even though I sent my cymbals to out 6 inside SSD. Any idea? I'm also using Cubase so I thought you might know. Do ya?

  • @TriviumCrusader17 No idea man, that sounds strange. I'd contact Slate.

  • I see someone is using Cubase now ;) or nuendo haha

  • @idreamtofflight Yeah I don't really like using Cubase, I'm much quicker with Reaper but couldn't figure out how to map Superior Drummer's midi to SSD with it.

  • @fearcomplexmusic I kind of want to check out Reaper for kicks 'cause I've heard nothing but good things about it besides it's MIDI capabilities.

  • @idreamtofflight Yeah Reaper is great. I just get stuff done a lot quicker with it.

  • Loving the intro

  • @Pedrojoca Thanks!

  • Punching baby kicking kindergarteners tone >;/

  • @ShadowBrave21 haha great stuff! :D

  • Thinks it's time for me to upgrade over the weekend :D

How big is the download or where you a disk customer?

  • @Harrysound EX is around 6GB. Some advice If you get it, download one rar at a time, I got unrar errors when I downloaded them all at once.

  • fuggin badass intro and a good video man

  • @throwdown47 Thanks appreciate it!

  • The 1:00 snare sound out of the box is already pretty good, the 2:06 snare by itself sounds over the top, but in the mix at 2:25 the snare sounds awesome and adds some life to the incredible guitar riffs. If I tried any of this my computer would immediately choke. Saving my pennies for some serious horse power.

  • @mkmorrison04 Yeah it chews up ram. Had to bounce down the guitar and bass tracks, my old dual core pc was throwing a fit!

  • Nice !

  • killer sounding!

  • @p0pel Thanks p0pel

  • whoah. no more reaper?

  • @ransisua I couldn't figure out how to map Superior Drummer midi to SSD with it so Cubase it had to be!

  • Im more and more starting to look forward to your uploads....

I was wondering if you could make a metal setup of software you think is easiest to use and that is the most effective by your opinion. For example> which setup for which drum software + guitar settings(software)+ bass + overall master. We could just download your patches like presets and start recording amassing metal songs... :) Maybe I got a bit carried away! :Pp

But still please consider the idea.

    And... great video as always

  • @RarelyMediocre Thanks for the comment and suggestions. I'll definitely try and provide more "this goes well with that" type info.

  • Thanks for the reverb of snare! Looks so easy when you do it :)

  • @blgengin Cheers! I always liked the Cubase B reverb. Best stock daw reverb imo.

  • nice!! willl you ever make something with the new EZX Metal Machine?

  • @orionhellraiser I haven't tried Metal Machine yet. Heard some good stuff though. I'll have to check it out.

  • awesome intro!

  • @ZychuZychu Thanks man, I put a bit of time into it so cool to hear!

  • @ZychuZychu agree, very nice intro indeed

  • Why you didn't use reaper this time?

  • @nono2599 I used Cubase instead of Reaper because I used midi created for Superior Drummer and I had to make a new drum map for it to work with SSD. I could do this easily enough in Cubase but Reaper was giving me a headache.

  • I should buy this program... It seems awesome, and sounds too :D Thanks Neil, you're the best.

  • @WencesWasHere Yeah I'd definitely recommend getting this.

  • @fearcomplexmusic Yeah! Thoughtless me! That's an awesome intro, I noticed it but I didn't comment on it. Great as usual :D Thanks

  • @WencesWasHere Cheers!

  • I though SSD was Kontakt only? Guess I was wrong. Well well, sounds good!

  • @iSometimesWriteMusic SSD 4 has its own player.

  • Freaking awesome as always man.

  • How did you made a midi file for ssd4 useing ?

  • @neo69hk You can write down midi in almost any DAW. A nifty trick though: Write the drums in Guitar Pro 5, export them as MIDI, and import them into your DAW. :D

  • @neo69hk I use and edit the grooves from some of the midi packs made for Superior Drummer.
