  • Reeeeaaallyyy?? lol

  • if ashy had kept going straight instead of cutting inside, he could have scored or at least got closer to the line

  • Brian O' Driscoll sadly just could not get to Fodan :( but Fitzgerald should have made up for O' Driscolls mistake so I think half the blame should go to Fitzgerald.

  • Videos like this are very very rare!.

  • B'OD is one of the best defencive backs the game has ever seen but fair duece to northhamton sending foden into his area and letting him simply run around him. but o'driscoll did have a bad knee and shoulder for the final but was played anyway.

  • Foden is 1 of the best 15`s around atm, definately got the England jersey nailed right now. 5 years ago maybe O`Driscoll would have made that tackle, great player deserves to be called one of the all time greats but his time for carrying Ireland through big games is all but over.

  • haha! Scarlets hammered shit Northampton Saints in Franklins Garden!!

  • @toffieandsooty when 2 of the scarlets tries shouldnt have counted as both came from an offside position, I dont think it was a hammering. considering that scarlets only won by 4 points I wouldnt call that a hammering anyway

  • Ireland leave England for dead (from an englishman), and look at the score

  • foden, great step , hand off and hes away, ashton step, step, step, step BAM .......

  • Ben Foden is Englands best player.

  • I am a saints fan and i was there, quality match and stadium :) Although i had more Ulster fans around me than leinster :L

  • BOD has lost alot of acceleration and top speed. But that's to be expected at his age. He aint 22 anymore...

  • Hehe...

  • makes me laugh this B o'd is in his twilight years as international, and is the greatest centre of his generation, an ireland and lions captain, who for 10 years has been untouched, even at his age he is still top class, foden isnt even the best fullback in six nations, lee byrne is far better, when hes been on 3 lions tours and has over 100 caps for england then he can clean bods boots. till then hes nobody.

  • @stewsterni Hahaha Foden is much better than byrne, I don't even see him making the wales squad anymore...to be fair though BOD was probably the best player ever...he's never been renowned for his defence though and he's getting past it now...plus that to the fact Foden is a very good player with ball in hand and events like this are no surprise...Foden would have done that to anyone in that position...

  • @vegatablesouptom fact is m8 he's been playing how long at fullback? lee byrne is a proper fullback and an amazing player, kearny is better than foden both are lions players, and coming off with b'od isnt renowed for his defence? do you watch same rugby i do? because you obvs dnt? he's more known now for his big hits and defence than his go forward game, on that comment alone makes me think you dnt have a clue! what the hell you are talking about. go watch any vid on bod, clear up your mind

  • @stewsterni How long he's been playing fullback has no bearing...he's better than byrne, maybe not kearny...foden isn't a lions player because he hasn't been on the international scene long enough...and I have watched BOD and there have been numerous times (especially with french centres it seems) that he has been charged right past...and big hits in defence? He hasn't really put in that many 'big hits' to be fair...sure he's had a few but who wouldn't playing for that long...

  • @vegatablesouptom I've watched every game BOD has played for the past few years. He rarely misses tackles (or makes big hits, but he stops most people who run at him), bar the last 2 / 3 months before his 6 month lay-off and he wasn't that bad then. The only missing of French centres I can think if is Rougerie vs. Ireland, but that was D'Arcy who missed that tackle. And Foden is probably better than Kearney, even if he is playing very well right now. Byrne is shit though. Very very overrated.

  • @astmulti Ok to be fair although BOD does make most of his tackles I have seen players get around on the outside of him without too much difficulty (take medard in the heineken cup semi final for example) he seems to have a real bogey with the French...as do the rest of the irish team for some reason?

  • @vegatablesouptom Any video? I don't doubt that people might get around him, but he rarely misses tackles that he should make. The only badly missed tackle of his I remember is vs. Tuilagi in Landsdowne Road but he did enough to allow SOB to stop the try. Anyway, I can admit that BOD is getting past it. He is certainly no longer the player that he was, skill-wise, defensively, offensively, etc. Personally I want Eoin O'Malley to take over sooner rather than later at 13.

  • @astmulti That would seem the sensible thing to happen and err yeh there's a video clip in slow mo if you look at the semi final highlights where medard goes on the switch with heymans and does BOD.

  • @vegatablesouptom And Medard is fairly fast and agile. With space, I don't doubt that he would beat BOD. But BOD usually defends with not that much space outside him, as he is usually in the midfield.

  • well ashton needs to learn to stop running sideways

  • Ashton got smashed

  • Ben Foden leaves Brian O Driscoll for dead...and then we all know what happened...leinster won the heineken cup emphatically

  • The title of this video should be " Knacker Chris Ashton gets absolutely milled by Nacewa"

  • i am irish have to admit Ben Foden is a class player

  • To be fair, O'Driscoll had a hamstring injury before this game and barely made the cut. He didnt do one training session that week as a result. You could tell his was gone by the fact he never used a side step and did minimal running that game, especially when it was him vs Foden earlier on for the try line, if he was fully fit you could bet he would of attempted to dogde him but tried to offload instead.

Besides, Fodens pace and sidestep is amazingly powerful, very few can catch/stop him.

  • Nothing to be embarassed about BOD, Foden is by far and away the best attacking player in England, it's just a shame the same can't be said of the rest of the england team...

  • @vegatablesouptom what about tualagi??

  • @louisparr Tuilagi has done very little creative in attacking terms himself, he's just run a few good lines and broken a few weak tackles, to be fair to him though he will (with more chance to show himself) be englands best player and possibly saviour...

  • @vegatablesouptom

Yip, just what England needed, a guy who can jump ship when it all goes wrong - and he did.

  • @davechodgins Hahaha like that one ;)

  • BOD himself said jokingly that he was worried about being dropped after that performance, Foden also beat him for his try earlier and made a try saving tackle himself on O'Driscoll. I think Foden is now Englands best and most influential player, much more so than Chris Ashton

  • @tony10396861 now its tuilagi, has proved himself to be far and away england's most effective plyer after only a few games

  • yeah, but look at the score....

  • @supermrfantastic yeah but Northampton won

  • @mrthenumberten no they didnt? leinster won the heineken cup final retard....

  • @mrthenumberten Numbnuts!

  • @tennisrulesok BOD always plays injured. He's never really over 90%. However, he was particularly bad before this match. I thought it was all prematch propaganda but my best mate who I attend Leinster games with (a doctor) met Arthur Tanner (Leinster team doctor) and according to him, he was genuinely injured and he said that if the games was to be played at the pace of the Toulouse game that BOD would not last past 60 minutes.

  • then o driscoll makes a beautiful break and starts playing brillantly and leinster wins the european cup :) while ben foden starts crying because hes never been on a team thats beaten o driscoll :) well done leinster :) greatest comeback ever :) 2011 the year ireland kicks englands ass at every sport :D even cricket!

  • Yeh so foden side stepped drico but then in comes nacewa 2 fukin destroy hartley

  • @whyamiIrish urm not hartley it was ashton that nacewa tackled

  • If O'driscoll was injured in even a small way, he wouldnt have played, they wouldnt have risked putting an un fit player in the team, especially in a heineken cup final when a mistake could be very costly

  • @tennisrulesok o driscoll was never gonna miss that final... thats why leinster won because of believe that there the best team :)

  • Foden is in my opinion the only world class player on the current England squad, but O'Driscoll was most certainly not at 100% at this match. BOD is not as good in attack as he used to be (well, at least at the flashy stuff like scoring, beating players one on one, etc.), but he is still world class in defense. I doubt Foden would beat a fully fit or close to fully fit BOD as he did here. Can't wait to see Foden at the RWC though. Very exciting to watch.

  • he was not fully fit that day

  • He's lucky Drico didn't get him!

  • Foden's got it all athletically - pace,power,strength,balance,agility, a hand-off and a great step.

Having said that, O'Driscoll was injured for this game, and never should have played. On a normal day, O'Driscoll would never miss a tackle like that.

  • To be fair O' Driscoll was injured for this game, but Foden is a great player.

  • hahaha its funny because they got fucked up and lost and he can never hope to have the kind of career o driscoll has :)

  • Foden is an absolute tank! England should base their whole game around him
