yeah the first part was the CBC sports thing. I only caught the last second of it because i recorded it in 94 using an old VCR. Once you hit record, it would pause 2-3 seconds before it would actually start to record. So that part was left out. I have no idea why the map looks that way though. I guess you'd have to email CBC for that answer..
@Pfizerr I think the map is that way because they did a pretty crappy job defining what parts of the continent represent the western and eastern conferences. That's why in the west it cuts off horizontally just north of Edmonton, and in the east it cuts off horizontally just north of where Quebec City would be.
That's my best guess. Pretty crappy looking though, even for back then. It's nice to see the CBC truly doesn't care about the 100,000 people that live in the north, eh?
