2 Things:

1) The Terminator Franchise is moot. Arnie would be better off in a sequel to Total Recall that maintains the ultra violence and mature themes. He's a relic of the '80s and early nineties, and his personality appeals to the older, less serious way of making action movies.

2) The Mass Effect movie will probably be a cop out prequel with none of the content that made the original so great and will most likely be based on the first contact war. Quote me when the trailer is released.

I don't know, creating a game like Mass Effect seems impossible unless it's a show rather than a movie. I find this intriguing. Could be a prequel, perhaps the events of Shepard's life as a war hero aka the blitz. The game's story is exactly that my fellow gamers: the game's story. It was meant to be played not made into a movie. The universe itself however can be adapted. I REALLY hope the movie's quality will drop some jaws but I trust BioWare explicitly.

Some hoped for side story, some hoped for 'based on the game'. There will be Shepard, yet it will be a different story than the game. Taking a third option only works when the third option is better. That will result in something that stomps peoples' personal canon AND lacks the appeal of the main Mass Effect storyline.

What they need to do is forget they're making a video game movie. The way things are going, it's guaranteed to suck.
