To be considered a superpower a country or a military pact has to have ability to strike everywhere at any given time. It requires not high military expenditures (which countries you mentioned simply cannot afford) and a military doctrine that would plan all of it and finally the aircraft carriers and littoral assault ships to conduct such operation. To be considered a superpower a country or a military pact has to have ability to strike everywhere at any given time. It requires not high military expenditures (which countries you mentioned simply cannot afford) and a military doctrine that would plan all of it and finally the aircraft carriers and littoral assault ships to conduct such operation. Not to even mention developed logistics, to supply your troops outside homeland. Only US has such capability as of now.

Actually, to be exact. At the moment US is the ONLY superpower. It's the only military that is able to project their power to any given place on the globe in every moment. China, Russia, India and EU while formidable, have no such ability. Cause? Lack of developed blue-water navy, especially a big number aircraft carriers.
The US effectively controls both Pacific and Atlantic ocean with their powerful Navy. And these two oceans are main trading routes.
