Yeah there is something to mark when you die its called a tombstone, ghost bikes are stupid. I want to go around and post rules of the road for cyclists on each ghost bike. By me they put up a ghost bike for a cyclist who ran 2 red lights while doing an unauthorized road race. What garbage.

ooooohh now i know why all these white bikes kept on showing up in chicago. they weren't ornately decorated like the ones in NYC or even said the names of the people that died tied to it - at least i don't think it did - We drove past 3 of them though to get to my aunts house who we were visiting.

There but for the grace of God go I. On November 22, 2009 I was struck by a bus on my way home from work on my bicycle on Amsterdam and 77th. I was wearing my helmet and I tucked my chin when I fell. If I had not, I would have been decapitated.

I have only just found out about ghost bikes what a touching way 2 remember a cyclist sadly here in the U.K they are trying 2 put a stop 2 it as it is seen as fly-tipping MADNESS..But a very good vid and it is not just new york the prob is world wide 2 much traffic

It's gotta be a two way street in everyone working together. I've seen it all, and it's not only cars, it's people on bikes, and people walking that also get reckless. I've never seen in ANY city like NY where people are constantly crossing on the green. Bikes weaving in and out of traffic ignoring their bike lanes, and cars hitting and running. Everyone's gotta work together.
